I was linked to this company through Angi.com which requires you to enter your contact information. I received (possibly automated) communication (call, email, text) from this company immediately after completing the info on Angi. I did not respond as I was still looking around and figuring out which companies I would contact. Five days later I received the most aggressive and unprofessional text from this company! It made me feel extremely uncomfortable and even after I expressed that, he responded again! Not a good way to gain a customer. I would never let this person into my home. Yikes! read more

Ken from Acupraise has to be one of the most unprofessional service providers I have ever dealt with! I'm looking for an appraiser, I enter my contact information in at night. I am at work extra early in the morning and I get a text from Ken at 9:40 in the morning reaching out. I work all day and cannot answer a text message like this. At 4 PM he text me back and simply asks me to respond either way, still working I can't respond yet. Then at 5:38 he sends the most nasty text message " if you were that lazy you can't respond to a text message or a phone call. Stay off the damn Internet, you're costing professionals money". Mind you I'm still at work however I am done I'm cleaning up, I haven't had the time to text him back. 10 minutes later I do respond, but I am ticked off! No respect at all for the working person. Where do I start, I didn't answer a call, from a number I dont know and when I listened to he message it was so much background noise I had no idea who it was from. fast forward to the next morning at 6am I get a text message saying who it is and what they want, not even a few hours go by and I get a rude response " Its been over 24 hours if you cant take 10 seconds out to respond to a text, stay off the internet and quit playing around your costing professional money. Not impressed at all and would not recommend him for another appraisal to anyone! I didn't get anything more than a Zillow valuation that did not include upgrades our home had. Comps were against homes somewhat not even relative to our home. The home right next door that is almost a duplicate to ours that sold about 15 months ago wasn't included in the comps??? Should have looked at the reviews more closely. totally incompetent. My home was valued at 850K. We put 500K into it including total remodel and 1000sf of additions. Home conservatively valued at 1.35 million. His appraisal, 750K. One hundred thousand LESS than after 500K of renovations! Total idiot. Absolutely the RUDEST individual/owner (Ken) ever. Ken contacted me after a request I put in for an appraisal and because I did not respond immediately he proceeded to send me a nasty text saying I'm lazy. We then got on the phone and I started to explain that I have cancer and am undergoing treatment and he said "do you know how many times I have heard that shit?" and hung up on me. Honestly it was the biggest blessing that this happened because I would NEVER want to work with someone who treats customers like that. Stay far away!! read more

My experience with this company (or maybe just the owner) has been the most horrible and unprofessional that I have received in a log time. Here is the story. On Tuesday late afternoon I put a request for an appraisal into a website that is supposed to generate options for multiple appraisal companies and pass my information to them. This website was Home Advisor Pro (pro.homeadvisor.com) and it passed my information on to Ken at Acupraise. Now to the really strange and unprofessional parts... I live in a rural area that has little to no cell coverage. I had taken Wednesday off from work and spent most of the day working in my garden. My phone was with me at my home, but I am lucky if I get one bar at my home. I also did not check my email, being as I had given myself the day away from work. As I arrived in town for my grocery shopping I received a text message that read "If you're gong to look for a professional the least you can do is respond" I then looked and realized that it was attached to a first text message that had been generated a few minutes after I filled out my from with Home Advisor Pro on Tuesday evening. The first message was the professional contact that I expected. Stunned by the aggressive and whiny message that was my first introduction to this company (although it was technically his second message), I responded with an explanation that I live in an area with limited cell service and that the text I received might be the epitome of unprofessional. It then deteriorated into an aggressive email exchange where Ken complained of waiting over 24 hours since his initial contact (it is true, at that time it had been 26 hours since he had initially reached out) and that I should have responded already. The email exchange was odd and the worst way of courting business that I have ever seen. Fast forward to today (Thursday) at 830am and I was checking my emails. I saw the email from Ken connected to the RFI generated by Home Advisor Pro. I reached out with the following email: "Ken, I am checking my email now and see your email from yesterday. It is unfortunate that you chose to harass me for taking a day off to myself. You were the first person to reach out, and in doing so would have been the first person I responded to. I have reported you to the lead generator that put you in touch with me, and I kindly ask that you do not harass me any more, and delete all of my contact information." I then received this email in return: "Like that is going to bother me your a joke and you should have never responded since you're good at that" I understand that people work at different speeds. I also understand that while some people like myself have midweek days off, others take a traditional weekend. I would not have expected a response on a Saturday or Sunday just because those are the days that I work. This whole exchange based around my inability to respond to someone reaching out to provide services took place between Tuesday afternoon 430pm and Thursday morning 830am. This is a level of ridiculous that I have not dealt with since I stopped dealing with celebrity assistants years ago. read more

For someone who has "25 years of experience" they clearly have not had any experience in customer service or humanity. I wish I saw the previous reviews on Yelp prior reaching out via home advisor. Long story short, he contacted me at 11pm and it was not an appropriate time to talk. I asked him to contact me the next day, which he did. However some things came up and I was not able to call him back. I received a second text message that day that was very passive aggressive. So I presently am in the process of searching for a home to purchase. While in the process of house hunting, I also had to familiarize myself with the moving out procedure of townhouse complex's association. The association calls for the possible need of an appraiser if the value of the townhouse is in dispute. Thus, this brings me to Acupraise and Ken Krawczak. I have never used an appraiser before and did not know where to find one, so I did what most probably do: I went to Angie's List. Angie's List would not simply list all the appraisers available in my locality, I had to provide my contact information and explain what it was that I needed an appraiser for. The very next day I received several text messages and some telephone calls. Only one of them decided to follow up later that afternoon: Ken Krawczak from Acupraise. Ken's initial text message in the morning was fairly standard outreach and nothing wrong with it. However, his follow up was rather brusque or passive-aggressive as another reviewer put it--I would also add it was downright rude. The follow up text stated that I should at least have the decency to follow up with him. I initially was composing an apology text and explaining the situation. I then decided to delete the text and call him up to address his rather disrespectful tone in his text. I called Ken to explain that I am the potential customer and that whom I decide to transact business with is my concern and not his and I do not appreciate a disrespectful text message such as the one he sent. Ken proceeded to state that every communication was costing him money and that I should have the decency to not waste his time and that I should follow up with him. He then went on to yell and talk over me, then proceeded it with telling me to "f*ck off" and hung up. I tried to call him back and he refused to take may calls. I did continue to text him stating that this is not something of my own doing but how the system that he decided to utilize works: The referral system insists on getting contact information (for marketing purposes) and then distributing that information. I decided to check reviews for Acupraise, which I am assuming a one-man operation with Ken running it. On Facebook, Google, and Yelp Acupraise/Ken consistently had bad reviews. I also noticed that several of the reviews quote him as stating that he has the most experience in the area among appraisers and that several of the reviews stated him want to transact business quite quickly. Well, I can say this, I have worked retail for 11 years and been in other service jobs as customer-facing personnel, and I know how to treat people. This gentleman does not know how to treat people. Ken has a miserable attitude that is disrespectful, offensive, and lacking in social graces. I do not honestly care how many years of experience a professional has, if they cannot treat me with a certain level of respect (especially if I am potentially going to be a paying customer), I will not give them that business. I am not going to pay to be treated as awfully as I was treated by Ken Krawczak. I STRONGLY urge potential customers to avoid this gentleman at all costs! Poor, unprofessional service. Ken was vulgar on the phone and in person. The work he provided had mistakes in the header that was not resolved and during communication, he refused to fix it. I do not recommend his services to anyone. Furthermore he was hired to do measurements and there were inconsistencies to other sketches such that the layout were inaccurate one of the features. read more

we had an appraisal beginning of July, took almost two weeks to come back and was abundant with errors and omissions. The square footage was 300sq ft off because he had size off on our family room and didn't give credit anywhere on the report for our mechanical room. Can't just say we no longer have 300sq ft. We have a colonial but he comp us to a bi-level where half the house is underground and a ranch. The third comp was 600sq ft larger than us with a basement and a pool that we don't have. He explicitly said $10/sq ft unfinished basement and $15/sq ft for finished basement but gave them $25/sq ft. He also pulled another colonial as a listing but sold on 6/28 when his reported was dated 7/7 and sold for $20k more. He also provided many graphs and figures stating that all the homes in the past year have sold for $260k or more yet we were valued under that number. He also provided figures for Q4 homes however the report has all Q3 homes, not Q4. The management company he works for wont call us back and when we called him directly, he said he's been doing this for 30 years and hung up on us. It's time to retire I think. read more
