MILITARY VETERANS AND OTHERS STAY CLEAR! I had a terrible experience with this massage school, and I feel compelled to warn others. First off, they never explained that housing benefits would cease during the clinical portion of the program. As a veteran, getting housing allowance while going to school is an amazing benefit and one that we don't want to miss out on. This isn't a problem at other schools like MDC. This critical information was omitted, leading me to drop out. I had one class left before finding this out. To add insult to injury, they charged me $200 for leaving the program and even made me pay for my transcripts. The main teacher, Mrs. Kim, made the entire experience unbearable. She was unprofessional, borderline psycho, and made the program so miserable that I no longer wanted to continue. She even went as far as holding me after class in an attempt to break me as a person. Her behavior was incredibly weird, and the only relief came when she finally left. Her brother was a way better teacher. He didn't seem to use the class as much as an ego stroke or soapbox like it was for his sister Kim. The program itself is a joke. The tests are poorly written, and the professors seem more interested in passing students through than actually teaching the material. There's no syllabus provided, making it nearly impossible to prepare for exams or understand what content to focus on. This place is a mess, and it's telling that they don't allow Google reviews--probably because they know how bad the feedback would be. Instead, you're forced to leave reviews on Yelp, where it's harder for the truth to come out. All in all, I do not recommend this program at all. I recently was a patient at this clinic. it was a disappointing experience and I don't think they were very honest. During my first visit I was told by the practitioner I need to come twice a week for a treatment but wasn't able to get an appointment for another two week, and was asked if I wanted a package that had to be used within a certain amount of time. I declined. I did schedule 4 mores visits ahead of time and the first visit went fine. I came back for second visit and after waiting for over an hour I was told I needed to reschedule. So much for consistency! when I asked what the problem was I got three different answers from 3 different people. There is something very wrong going on here. Very disorganized, unprofessional and no regard for well being of patients. it seems to me that students should be taught these basic skills because there is more to acupuncture than sticking needles in a body. I'll admit I chose this place because of its prices, but this just reinforced what I already knew. You get what you pay for. I'll be checking the credentials of any future acupuncturists I use to be sure they did not attend this school. read more

A good friend has been recommending their clinic for a while now. I finally decided to try it because of lower back pain. First, I had a massage performed by Humberto, it was top quality! Afterward, I had acupuncture treatment for my lower back and cupping done by Cynthia and Michael Floren, I dozed off a couple of times. Lastly, Michael performed some Reiki for my back pain and that was the icing on the cake. It had been a long time since my back felt pain-free. Plus, that night I slept like a baby! If you just want an acupuncture degree and don't care about the over all quality of the school, then go to this school. If you're serious about the meaning of acupuncture and your spiritual and sacred journey to becoming a healer , this place is NOT for you. The administration is TERRIBLE! They do not admit students with a thorough screening nor interviews. Therefore, they do not care about their maturity level or understanding as to why someone would want to be a healer. The administration is not mature enough to admit where they go wrong when human error is universal. They messed up my financial aid. They give you wrong information even when f they are not sure about the context. They want to come across as perfect and they know it all. I cannot respect people who lie and can't admit they didn't know. It's as simple as saying, "I'm sorry, I made a mistake with the information I gave you. Let's correct it and move forward." Instead , the financial aid officer defended her lie and the administration vouched for her. In addition, I have a disability that I'm recovering from. Hence, my passion for acupuncture. They disregarded my brothers concerning emails while he took time out of his busy job at NASA and never got a response. Ms Christy Wood kept sending an email stating she cannot reply to my brother due the Buckley amendment, which is only to allow him access to my financial and academic records. I told Ms Wood , my brother does not need access to my financial and academic records. He is concerned about my well-being. The administration is all in cahoots . They orchestrate illegal ways to go about problem solving. They knew I was coming from NY. They controlled the release of my financial aid to bait and accuse me of something they can't even find in their student handbook just because I'm advocating for myself. They know I have a disability and provoked me to exacerbate my condition. They are at fault and then they want to go around and tell staff to watch me. The ones who need to be watched is the administration. They act very kind and nice to lure you into the school and after you're there, they want to throw on you a bunch of surprises. They are not admitting compassionate healers and the administration doesn't understand acupuncture. Disgusting experience! read more

I am a federal employee who is not allowed to work because of the furlough. Needless to say, having no income and being denied the right to work is incredibly stressful. Add to that some severe knee pain that prevents me from my normal exercise routine, and I was pretty miserable. I took advantage of a deal and after one acupuncture treatment, I had considerable relief in my knee. I returned the following week for another treatment. That was a rough day for me...I hit a wall of frustration over not working. Lauren W. and Nathan K. saw my stress and delved into the cause. They were patient, listened, made me laugh and, above all, were EXCEEDINGLY kind. Kindness is a sort of medicine too. I have a good support network of family and friends, but there is something about the kindness of strangers that elevates it. It really was overwhelming. They conferred on my second treatment, and I got all needled up. If you are a skeptic like me, just let go of that crap and give it a go. It really is extraordinary. i am an extremely curious person, and Nathan and Lauren were patient in answering, not with some high-falutin' dismissive attitude, but with humor and a matter-of-factness that instilled confidence. I was pleased by the professionalism of the students who did the massages. As someone who has lived in Asia, I'm rather picky about the knowledge of the person doing the massage. I went 3 different times and the students each did a fine job. The price is quite reasonable and the location of the College was good for me. Also, with the corona virus raging, the administrator I spoke to was helpful in arranging a refund of the unused part of the package I had purchased. I was relieved not to have to argue. read more

I recently got a coupon in the mail for a free massage at Acupuncture & Massage College...who can say no to that?! Aside from the generic "yoga music" they have playing off of YouTube overhead, my overall experience was pretty good. I made an appointment and was taken in after filling out some paperwork and a short wait. In my case I had a student doing the massage, so don't expect the best massage you've ever had. Nonetheless, the student was kind, professional and gave a pretty good massage. I definitely noticed a release in some of the tension in my back and shoulders. The environment wasn't the most relaxing I've been in, but again not going to complain because it was free. I enjoyed the massage and would definitely consider going back here to save a little money and still get a good quality massage! read more

So we did a couples massage (which are only done Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday's before 2:30) I was a little hesitant because of the other reviews but had been dying for a massage and said why not. My boyfriend bought the Groupon which is the only way to get a couples massage here. The location is on the second floor, pretty easy to find in the corner of a plaza. We waited about 20 minutes while filling out paper work ( about 7 pages which seemed like much to me) some of the pages had repeated questions but I guess it was for first time records. The manager walked out with our masseuses and had a choose who would massage who in the lobby. The massage room was a classroom with curtains up for privacy. We sat with our masseuses and they asked us all of the same questions that were in the paper work we filled out prior. I was annoyed to have to answer the same questions. I didn't really enjoy my massage. I felt like my masseuses didn't use the notes I give him prior into the massage and wayyyy to much cream. They only played music for the first few minutes and then there were intervals of silence or other massage students talking loudly in the room. It was really hard to concentrate and actually relax. At least they didn't wear gloves because that really freaks me out. My boyfriend really enjoyed his massage but also didn't like all the extra noise and cursing. They only really won me over for their professionalism and allowing us to stay the full hour when we arrived late. I would go back but not get the same masseuse and ask for more privacy next time. read more

I'm considering enrolling in Acupuncture & Massage College's Massage Therapy program, and I also have visited the student clinics for acupuncture and massage. The school offers a second program as well--the Oriental Medicine program that trains students in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. If you are interested in studying Eastern massage and Chinese medicine, you will love AMC. I have talked with current and previous students about the programs and consistently receive positive feedback about what the programs teach and how they prepare students to pass the exams necessary to practice. During my clinic visits at the Kendall campus clinic and the satellite clinic in Palmetto Bay, I was very happy with my massage and acupuncture treatments. I chose to have the Shiatsu massage therapy treatment both times and found that my frozen shoulder improved and that I felt better overall. My acupuncture treatments have helped me to reduce stress and lose weight. I highly recommend both the school for students and the clinics for those seeking massage and acupuncture therapy. read more

This school has a student clinic for massage and acupuncture at reasonable prices for excellent services. Professional massages at local Miami spas don't compare to these well trained students who really show they care. I took away one star for the setting. You might be in a common room divided by curtains but there's excellent new age music and it's very quiet. I tried their acupuncture for a shoulder injury I got in a car accident and in one month, they had me feeling great. If you're on a budget (or even if you're not) check out this place. read more

Ehhhh... with a big sigh.... i dont care much for this facility... the students are very nice but i was once part of this clinic and i do have to say please do not attend this school if you are planning to... The owner does not care for the well being of the school nor the students involved, which is sad because the students are a big part of this facility. There is no assistance for these students and the disrespect that goes on here is incredible. This is a beautiful medicine being turned into a nightmare for most here. If it wasnt for some students that treated me there i would be not rating this a 2 star but a one star... they are very helpful and some even talk to me personally about diet and lifestyle changes... they actually care however, they are not being cared for. I have been here to observe and of course the students are stressed but i dont see any of their superior doing anything about it. Its like they dont care what happens as long as the owners receive their compensation... And whats this i hear about the students having to bring their own referrals each year??? and 3??!!! So each student brings in 3 referrals in which these referrals pay the price or the students have to pay for it in order to meet their quota.... senseless.. its a marketing scheme and i dont like that.. the school/clinic or facility is suppose to provide these students with the patients in order to be trained.. now they have to bring their own... more of a reason to just not come here. The clinic is not even nice looking... it looks like an army survival platoon with curtains all over... i can even hear conversation coming from all over the place. The students are just trying to get by... i feel very saddened that these owners can not see that their investments are not in the right place... for Gods sake invest in some new chairs and decor.... make it lively for them and customers... thank god for the groupon.. i would not be paying full price here... no wonder the students are "fatigued and disheartened" Please do something about this.. .for one thing the students do care and want to see you again because they really want to follow the patients progress other than that this is a dead zone... the only thing keeping it alive is the money from the students paying for this education.. SMH.. incredible.. Goodluck students. Hang in there and to the owners either get out of the business and give it to someone who cares or wake up and smell the needles... really. read more
