About 10-15 minutes in I experienced the most horrific pain and panic of my life when I felt like my back had been lit on fire. I have had acupuncture/cupping done before and I know heat is involved but this felt completely different. I genuinely felt fire consume my lower back and let out a scream. He immediately began to pat my back and try to cool me down as I cried and cried. I apologized for screaming out of embarrassment and he said it was "just the heat" but it felt so much more different than what I've experienced before. He did different things to try and "cool me down" and then left me in the room for about 15 minutes. When he came back he removed the needles and once again rubbed things on my back. It also wasn't until later that I realized he never did any cupping on me. As he finished he said "next time just tell me you don't like heat" but this was so much more than just heat. I actually have a pretty high heat tolerance and knew this was just not normal. He then proceeded to charge me $60 and say I might need a second visit if the pain doesn't go away. As I left I began to cry again, I felt like my body was in a state of panic after feeling like I had been lit on fire alive. My family told me heat was normal during the appointment but I guess I didn't explain myself well to them because it was not until they saw my back that they understood what I went through. Everyone that has seen my back is left with their jaw dropped and telling me this is not normal. My family says they will never be going again and my mom is telling everyone she has ever recommended to not go. I understand this could have been an accident but the fact that he did not even own up to it and tried to pass this experience off as normal is what upsets me. Now I still have back pain and this insane burn on my back. If this wasn't an accident and is how this treatment goes, he needs to do a better job at explaining that and also warn clients about the gnarly scars it will leave.

And I need herb medication (it says one month herb supplement but they are usually good for 6-7 weeks) and acupuncture treatment. Her bro, Dr. Lu does acupuncture treatment. He is awesome! He can read my husband and my health condition by poking and looking our back of our body. He is also good at reading health condition by tapping our pulse. He is experienced and very skilled too. ( We drive to there from Irvine every week) They are born and raised in the several generations Chinese doctor family and they also have western medical study and practice background before they move to US. Really horrible experience here…read more Saw the doctor who told me to close my eyes so she could look at my face and then checked my Pulse on both hands while occasionally writing something down on a notepad. She then went on to say that I only have minor issues including infrequent headaches/dizziness (I rarely/never get dizzy and don't get any more headaches than an average person, maybe just if I'm dehydrated), stomach discomfort when I'm on my period (who doesn't get this? I consider my period symptoms very mild), cold sores (completely untrue), both irregular and low quality sleep (I would consider my sleep very regular and have used apps that show consistent high quality sleep), and that my hair falls out a lot in the shower (again maybe a few strands but definitely not an abnormal amount). Much of what she said seemed to be very broad generalizations, some of which were completely untrue for me. She was unable to identify my chronic condition that I had actually come in for and then asked if I wanted to take medication without any information on cost or what kind of medication. When I found out the medication was an extra $260, I decided I didn't want it and told the woman at the front desk that I did not want it. To that she said well it's already been prescribed so if you dont take it I will have to throw it away. At that point my friend just offered to pay for it for me. I found this to be very manipulative and coercive. I had clearly stated that I did not want the medication and there was no prior transparency about cost, yet she still tried to guilt trip me into buying it anyway. Overall I feel like this place is run very much like a scam. Everything is cash only I spent $340 in less than 15 mins for what felt like a lot of wrong guesses and some expensive jars of powder that could be anything or nothing. Very disappointing experience that left me feeling way worse than when I went in.

They even send you a text to remind you. This is my first acupuncture experience so there is some uncertainty on my first visit. The office is very clean, the atmosphere was calm and professional. The treatment itself was fantastic--I felt relaxed during the sessions which lasted about an hour and noticed significant improvement after a couple sessions.
