I saw suggested because I was under the impression I could refuse the add ons in the beginning. I scheduled my follow up after. I tried scheduling another appointment since my insurance covers both acupuncture and chiro, great right. I mentioned not wanting to do the add on services for my next appointment and I was told they would have to refuse service if I don't get the add ons. I get that they're a business trying to make money but my insurance is paying them for the services, trying to pocket more by forcing people to do add ons is wild. I'd highly recommend this office for chiro, acupuncture, chiro massages, and cupping. I've been coming to walnut natural health for years and I've always found the staff and doctors friendly and attentive. I treated here for a workers' compensation injury and the office really helped me get back on my feet. I'm not even 30 so the idea of permanent back pain terrified me, I really appreciated the holistic method of walnut and how they took their time getting me back to normal. Dr Wu oversaw my treatment and she's a master in this field. She combined a variety of treatments to help me feeling better quickly. I had never tried cupping and man I am obsessed now. Dr. Wu was always patient, kind, and understanding with me. She always empathized with my pain and listened to what I felt like I needed. I also treated with Dr. Zhang and he was always very gentle with me. Neck cracking terrified me and I had a bad experience previously, Dr. Zheng took his time so I would feel comfortable. Chiro massages, I highly recommend. I've tried everyone in the office and they all do a great job. It's the most relaxing massage ever. I never waited long to see any of the doctors. At most it would be 5-10 min which I feel is pretty standard for doctor offices, especially during a pandemic where treatment is limited and everywhere is overwhelmed and swamped. My boyfriend had some back pain as well and I referred him too. He was amazed they took his insurance and how he could get such great treatment without having to pay much. I later referred my roommate to dr wu after my roommate had been having a lot of health issues. My roommate saw a ton of specialist who told her she was just overweight and ignored her concerns. Dr wu was empathetic with my roommate and made her feel heard and understood. They came up with a plan and it has really helped my roommates mental health. My roommate was suffering from depression and endocrinology issues. I've been to a few different acupuncturists and I've now found my favorite one. I started seeing Dr Wu while I was pregnant and experiencing carpal tunnel. Western medicine wanted to inject steroids but she was able to help me through acupuncture. I continued to see her after my delivery since I refused systemic medications as I'm breastfeeding. She's treated me for postpartum hair loss, in addition to joint pain due to autoimmune and postpartum hormones. I'm so thankful that I can put my trust in her and her masseuse Alaina! Worst experience ever at a Chiropractor's office. This place is the reason why people don't trust chiropractors. in 2023. I was a patient at Walnut Natural Health and I had a good experience and paid out of pocket rather than try to get my insurance to approve it. This week when my back issues flared back up I attempted to make an appointment with the chiropractor. When I first called in, Grace was impatient and rude. She repeatedly gave me misinformation about my own health insurance after I explained to her multiple times I already spoke to my insurance and I knew what was covered and my copay. Grace was so upsetting I asked to speak to someone else. Elaine took the call and made me an appointment, but it felt she was trying to talk me out of their services. When I showed up for my appointment today the ladies in the office, Elaine and another who refused to give her name were patronizing, rude and completely lacking in care. Elaine told me three times my claim would be denied by my insurance because that's what usually happens with Kaiser. Elaine told me to come back and did not open the door for me. I am in immense pain, can barely sit or stand, but sure, opening a heavy door is a great choice (sarcasm). Those people have absolutely no business working in the medical field of customer service. I tried to discuss the way I was treated with the Dr. and he was unbelievably unprofessional and lacking in empathy or care. He even had the audacity to say he did not remember treating me. I felt unsafe in the practice, so I asked for my money back and left without receiving treatment. So last year was an incredibly stressful year for me. I was planning my wedding and quit my career for a new venture. Because of all the stress I had, I started getting migraines! They were TERRIBLE! So bad, I would be sensitive to light, sound, and smell!! I even threw up a couple of times... They hurt so badly and it seemed like there was no fix!! I would take all types of meds... Advil, midol, Bayer, Tylenol, ibuprofen... You name it. When that didn't work, I went to Google. ‍ "Hand in ice water" and "lavender candles" popped up. Tried it. Felt stupid with the ice water thing and the lavender... Ya... Didn't work. So finally I decided to go to Dr. Wu... I was desperate and my family all said she's good so I had to brace my fear... Everyone there is extremely nice and welcoming. The facility is nice and clean. So first thing she said "don't stress" haha... Easier said than done. She was able to pinpoint (literally lol) the parts of my body that are all connected to cause headaches... She recommended seeing one of her chiropractors since my neck was really stiff which causes headaches easily. So I did. And my treatments (combo both Accu and chiro) worked! After only a couple treatments. Dr. Jason and Dr. Wu are miracle workers!! Once the wedding was over I thought, "yay! I'm free and clear of stress! No more migraines, right?" And I stopped going. I WAS SO WRONG for stopping treatment so soon! Unfortunately for me, because I had experienced so many migraines... my migraines became chronic... And I started getting them WEEKLY and for sure I'd get one during my time of the month... So again I went back to Dr. Wu. First off, they take insurance! I have healthnet PPO, it's only a small copay for me. They have chiro, massage and acupuncture in house. Chiro is only available on Monday to Wednesday. Message and acupuncture is a done by female, chiro is male. Just an FYI, for those who are wondering. I highly recommend this place because they actually have done wonders on body pain. Was told on the phone after reviewing my insurance that I could pay discounted cash price for the first appointment, but after filling out tons of paper I was told I could not have the discounted price unless I have a doctor referral first. Why not tell me on the phone a week ago? Regardless how I told them it's very difficult for me to get some free time to come here, they did not honor the price. Then the receptionist suggested a few consultation and gave me more paper to fill. The chiropractor read the paper and refused to give me any consultation unless I pay more money. Please note: This review is not a reflection on Dr. Wu. This is my experience prior to meeting Dr. Wu and after meeting her. I've had acupuncture for many years prior to the COVID Pandemic and then during the pandemic I found myself working from home with the world closed around me and have been without acupuncture since March 2020. I called Walnut Natural Health Center on 6/8/2021 to make an initial appointment for pain I have been experiencing and was not resolving on its own. The next available appointment with Dr. Wu was not until 6/21 @ 12PM. I was advised to arrive by 1130AM to fill out paperwork the day of the appointment. Day of the appointment I arrived prior to 1130AM to fill out paperwork. I was told that my insurance requires me to meet a $250 deductible before billing insurance & $20 copay. So I was charged $90 out of pocket for the initial visit. I know I have acupuncture coverage that does not require my deductible to be met, nor do I have to pay a copay...(RED FLAG #1). I was brought into a room prior to 12PM for vitals and personal history intake. The girl told me that my insurance covers acupuncture for pain only. And any other treatment would be $20 out of pocket in addition to copay. Vitals and history intake took no longer than 10 minutes. After that I sat there waiting. And waiting. And waiting. (RED FLAG #2) It was now 1240PM. No doctor, no update on when I should expect to see the doctor. Nothing. I walked back to the lobby and asked when I should expect to see the doctor and was told, she would be in soon. I asked what the duration of a typical office visit would be and was told treatment usually takes 20-30 minutes and that I should expect to be here for 1hr to 1.5 hours. So basically, you are wasting 30 minutes to 1 hour waiting for treatment beyond your scheduled appointment. Who has time to kill like that especially when you're in pain AND on your lunch break? Finally Dr. Wu was in the exam room at 1245PM. Would it have taken longer to see her if I had continued to wait quietly behind the closed door? Who knows? Dr. Wu explained that this morning had been a busy morning with emergency patients. (A little heads-up would have been nice from the office personnel or from the girl taking my vitals.) Dr. Wu said she was sorry my first appointment/impression was less to be desired... (not in these exact words). She went over my history and my reason(s) for my visit. Then treatment began. Needles were strategically placed, and she also said she'd be placing seeds on various pressure points in my ear. She advised to schedule weekly visits with her unless she felt I would benefit from more treatment. She said she would try to see me at my scheduled appointment on time, since she knew I would be coming during my lunch break. When the timer went off, I was surprised to see a girl from the front office coming in to take the needles out. (Of all the acupuncturists I've seen, they have all removed the needles at the end of treatment. But every office can't be held to the same protocol...) (RED FLAG #3 possibly?) Back at the lobby to schedule my next appointment, I was informed that I did not have to meet a deductible and there would be no copays for my visits. I was informed that my treatment would cost $20 out of pocket because they were not pain related and because I received seeds on my ear. My stomach pain is a pain, but according to her and insurance it's not the "pain" that is covered under my plan. I was not informed prior to the seeds being placed on my ear that this would be an upcharge. (RED FLAG #4) I advised her to deduct the $20 from the $90 that was paid earlier and refund the rest. Despite all these RED FLAGS, crazy me was waiting to make my next appointment. I mean, I couldn't fault Dr. Wu for treating emergency patients PLUS I needed her help/expertise to feel better... Then the phone rang. I thought the girl helping me would place the caller on hold while scheduling my next appointment. Boy, was I wrong! She continued the phone call to help schedule an appointment for the caller. (RED FLAG #5) I could not believe what I had just experienced these last couple of hours from this office. This is when I finally decided enough was enough. I walked out probably more stressed and in more pain than I did prior to setting foot in this office. (Too bad I didn't get the first name of the girl. There are 2 girls with the same last name, Zhou. She is one of them.) Please don't let this office waste your time and bamboozle you in additional costs that were not explained up front unless you like to be kept in suspense. Although Dr. Wu was highly recommended and very close in proximity, I know there are other reputable acupuncturists out there that will make me feel better without the stress and extra money spent, not to mention the lost time. I was recommended by a friend who came in. I tend to have cold hands and feet. It's an ongoing problem I have for years. I was very skeptical trying acupuncture fearing needles and skill of acupuncturist. Walking into the office, it is a small waiting area. The receptionist and staff greeted me with warmth and courtesy. The place is clean and plays soothing spa music for comfort, which I love as it keeps me at ease. Dr. Wu, my acupuncturist, was very friendly and courteous. She asked questions, analyze my problems and came up with a treatment plan. To my surprise, when she poked me with the needles, it didn't really hurt or to a pain where I'm screaming. She had the fine skills! There were a few pokes that may hurt a little based on the body locations and sensitivity. Maybe fatty locations I couldn't feel the needle at all. I had a very good experience with her. Her schedule does fill up quickly. Then I also tried out chiropractic treatment. Dr. Stone was very knowledgeable and talked with sensible science and logic. He had a sense of humor as well. I had an on and off back pain that's been lingering for more than two years after giving birth and apparently gotten worse after an injury playing volleyball (i know, not the wisest decision). And one day I just couldn't take it anymore and decided to try chiropractic from this place. I got treated by Dr. Christine and boy, I was so glad I made the decision. I could feel my back loosening up a lot just after the first treatment. And after a few more times coming here, my back is definitely loosen up and pretty much back to normal. I've been seeing Dr. Wu for months. Her acupuncture is amazing! I have foot pain over 6 months and backache for years. After her first treatment, the pain was reduced significantly. Dr. Wu has been very patient and knowledgeable on explaining the treatment and how I should rehab. My daughter is 10 year old and terrified about the idea being poked with needles. She got ankle strained in a badminton tournament and has weak tendon ever since then. I've never seen a doctor like Dr. Wu so patient, mommy-like, and willing to do everything comfort her for trying acupuncture! I, especially, like the atmosphere of my appt. overall, really heartfelt service/professionalism. been trying out acupuncture providers in the area, the doc seems pretty engaged and intuitive to pain areas. came in for an acupuncture and massage appointment (you can get a package deal for an hour acupuncture/an hour massage, which is what i purchased). it's not a judgment of their character at all but any new patients i would advise being vocal with what you want in the sense that my appointment was at 2pm (i arrived at 1:40pm to fill out first time patient info), i didn't get seen until bout 2:30pm, answered the doc's questions about my pain /mobility issues for bout ten minutes then got only a 20 minute acupuncture session. i bring this up only because the hour of acupuncture i thought i had signed up for is pricey even in a package deal and to only get 20 minutes of that was a bit of a let down. they didn't do the electro pulse or cupping that i under the impression was part of the acupuncture process like in all the other places i've gone to. im not sure if it was on account of it being on the weekend and them wanting to save time towards the end of day. the saving grace moment was the hour long massage, that was EXCELLENT and i believe the main reason why i benefited from the package, otherwise i would have felt a little jipped. would have loved to get a little more acupuncture services for my purchase, pain/ discomfort is still there but not as bad. they are really nice but i would advise new patients to be a little more vocal than i was(i just didn't want to come off as rude/pushy) if in the moment you're expecting more. you can't go wrong with the massage with Helen here, she was a magician read more

I called to make an appointment to see a chiropractor for severe pain in my shoulders that affected my head range of motion. I couldn't get anything that week but did get in for a massage which was nice. Found out that my insurance pays for 20 of them a year. Hooray. Today I had my appointment with Dr. Alan Lee, the Chiropractor. WOW. I had only been to a chiropractor once in my life (I'm 60). My neck and shoulders were not as tight as had been but I am so glad I went. He put electrodes on my shoulder area with a warm compression, followed up with a quick massage then did the smash, crack thing on my back and stretched out my neck. Again, I'm new to this but when I walked out I felt like a whole new person. Seriously, afterwards in walking out I felt SO good - like I had a pep in my step and I could conquer anything. Dr. Kennedy is the only chiropractor that I have ever been to, in over 20 years, who was able to to fix L-5/S-1. Because he knows what he's doing. I have walked out of many chiropractors' offices, worse than when I walked in. Dr. Kennedy will not yank on you & hurt you. He will not crack something that doesn't need to be cracked. His treatment is painless, because he knows exactly what he's doing. When my back was at its worst, it took him 5 minutes, to take me from barely being able to walk, to being able to run again. I've known Dr. Wu for more than 5 years, but I didn't get my first treatment until recently when I had unbearable wrist pain. Dr. Wu is as always very kind and careful when treating all her patients; even if you're afraid of needles, she'll make the fear disappeared. After my first treatment, my wrist pain has been reduced a lot. I also consulted with Dr. Wu for my sleeping problem on my second appointment; after the acupuncture treatment, I not only fell asleep in the treatment room but also finally slept through the time the alarm went off. Very bad time-management. I waited more than 45min and I had to leave, before any treatment. I understand thing does get crazy sometimes, maybe I'm just one of the few people that don't plan to wait for one hour before getting the treatment. This review is more for the front office staff vs the doctors that work here. I saw the reviews on Yelp and figured that this office would be a great place to seek treatment. Went in to inquire about rates, services and types of insurance coverage. Upon coming in, I felt like I was bothering the lady who checks in patients. There was no polite greeting (which didn't bother me too much), but what was surprising was the lack of professionalism. When a potential patient is asking for information please at least try to answer questions instead of rushing them off. There were no patients waiting or in line, so at least try to acknowledge the person in front of you. Also, I guess this place is pretty busy because the front counter staff also said that the doctors had limited appointments when I asked about availability and days/times we could schedule an appointment. Dr. Wu and her staff are amazing! She is very thorough with her initial assessment and really breaks it down for you to explain the treatment process. Personally, I've found acupuncture to be a lot more effective when it comes to treating injuries allowing for a quick recovery time. read more

Dr Wu is Awesome! I have been going here for a year now for my migraines, Systemic Lupus, Fibromyalgia and arthritis. With the help of Dr Wu, I no longer require pain medication as often and have experienced improvement in my immune system, catching less cold/flu, improved sleep patterns and more energy. I have moved 400 miles away and still travel to see Dr Wu and always schedule a tune up when I can get to the area. Dr. Wu is very caring and never rush me. She is very knowledgeable and would explain my situation and her plan to me patiently. She specializes in acupuncture and herbal medicine and had fixed my back pain, wrist pain, and shoulder dislocation in the past. My two daughters who play competitive sport also go to her for monthly adjustment. That really helps to prolong their sports life. Our family have been going to Dr. Wu's center for almost three years now and have introduced her and her center to a lot of the people we know. Although I was hesitant at first, I had my first acupuncture experience with Dr. Wu. She was very attentive and caring, ensuring that everything felt okay, which helped me overcome my fear.
