Dr. Massicotte is a miracle worker! Our 10 year old miniature schnauzer, Wingnut, suddenly could barely walk. She was in obvious pain. We took her to an emergency vet who took X-rays and diagnosed her with IVDD (disk disease.) She was put on pain killers and we were told to keep her confined. There was no real improvement over the next couple of weeks. Her back legs were very weak. She couldn't lift her head and was just not moving very well. My husband and I have been fostering a dog named Taffy, a beautiful Red Heeler Cattle Dog/Yellow Lab mix who is between 8-10 years old. When she first arrived to us, she was in bad condition. Dr Massicotte is amazing. Our Boston Terrier Vixen had significant pain after what we assumed was IVDD. After 5-6 weeks of crate rest and lots of medications, we didn't see any improvement. We were referred to Dr Massicotte for acupuncture. Not having any experience with this treatment, I was open to anything (other than surgery) that would help Vixen return to her active life. We have an 8 year old yellow lab that has a variety of issues including elbow dysplasia, spondylosis in her back, 2 repaired CCL ligaments and seizures. A few months ago she injured her iliopsoas muscle and was barely able to walk. We took her to the vet and tried a variety of treatments but after 2 months of minimal progress we decided to give acupuncture a try. I called Dr Massicotte and she spent 30 minutes with me on the phogetting details and discussing options. A few days later she came to our house for the first treatment with treats in hand which, made her an instantaneous friend for our dog. After a thorough exam we started the treatment. She spent almost 90 minutes with us and never rushed. Our dog remained calmed throughout the whole treatment and I can say within two days we noticed an improvement with her limping. We did three treatments in all and our dog is now playing with her sister and getting around better than she has in a long time. We did added some CBD oil to her treatment plan which also seems to help overall. Our dog has not had a seizure in 7 months and she was having them monthly. Dr. Massicotte was a very important part in helping our little Havanese heal. His cruciate ligament was completely torn and we wondered how he would ever heal. He couldn't step on his leg at all. Dr. Massicotte is super knowledgable, kind and really has a heart for her patients. I brought my Sharpei/Pitbull mix (5 yrs old) into her for some hip/knee issues. He'd had double ACL surgeries on his back knees about a year and a half ago and had healed up from that but had started limping and stopped using one of his back legs, more recently. It was determined that the primary issue causing his current situation was related to his hip, and that the knee may be causing some secondary issues.
