All it would have taken is a simple blood test and a logical mind. After all those years (and all that money) I went to another Doctor of Naturopathy who, after hearing my story of symptoms and struggle, doing a full exam (which Dr. Andersen never did), and running a simple blood test, I am undergoing treatment for Lyme Disease and it seems to be helping. Dr. Andersen was not pleased that I decided to see another practitioner and refused to give me a copy of my medical records, though I offered to pay for them. I called and left messages. I spoke to her personally. I sent several emails. And still did not receive a copy of my records that are my legal right to have. I sent a certified letter in the mail only to have her refuse to sign for it. Next, I am going to have to hire an attorney just to get my records. This is horrible and unprofessional and suspicious. I've sense talked to others in Newport, Oregon who have attempted to use her for their medical care, but quickly (unlike me) learned that she is manipulative and dishonest, and really knows very little about the healing modalities she recommends. I wish I had realized this about her, before, but I was in such a vulnerable, fragile state due to my chronic condition. I put too much trust in her, did not listen to my suspicions, and wasted several years and a lot of money.

The secretary at the front desk is very unprofessional and doesn't know how to verify insurance…read moreinformation. then wants to over charge you without calling and verifying insurance. then wants to double charge your copay after you said you would call to try to straighten it out. first she charged me my co-pay and then she wanted to charge me the same amount again and then when I asked her to call the insurance company or wait for me to call. She got very upset and said I needed to pay so I went to pay and I was not happy. So she walked out of the room and closed the door on me and just left me there in the lobby by myself. Acupuncture is supposed to be a pleasant experience and this was just terrible. Then Lyndsay who was working with me, she was really providing great treatment. But I can't trust their secretary. I don't think I'll come back cause it was a very sad experience!! Edit to add: After speaking with the insurance company they will start an investigation on why they were over charging me. The secretary also said on my first visit I was charged two co-pays of $20 each. My insurance company told me that they only submitted one claim so I should've only paid one co-pay of $10. They didn't tell the insurance company that I was charged and paid two co-pays for that first visit. If anything, they should've charged my insurance company more for consultation and treatment. I only have one co-pay per visit with my benefit. It doesn't matter if I'm having two different things happening. This is a reminder everybody call your insurance company before you get any treatment done so you know exactly what you're supposed to be paying. This would've been the third visit I was overcharged. Lyndsay refunded what I did pay for today's visit and was gonna make sure I wasn't charged for not coming to my appointment. Lyndsay was very professional, but I don't know about the secretary. I gave this place one star because insurance fraud is real. I don't want other people to deal with what I'm having to deal with. A lot of people aren't on top of their coverage like I am. But I used to work in insurance billing and I used to have to explain to people all the time what was covered and what wasn't.
