In many cases, the prices here exceed even what's seen on the secondary market. It's blatant price gouging, and it's insulting to loyal customers who just want a fair deal. I had heard whispers of some little Francophile wine shop in East Lake Highlands neighborhood last year. And I was excited to be heading there to choose some thing tasty to go with dinner. I try to drink only organic wine and I had old world reds on the mind. I didn't have a lot of hope that I would find these en masse but I was wrong! I was greeted promptly by a friendly gentleman who very clearly appeared to be the owner. I told him what I was looking for and he just started handing me bottles! I had to tell him to stop at five because my arms could not hold any more. :) ...and they were all organic!! His stories started coming out about small Italian family wineries and minerally French soil...and I wished I could just stay and hang out and hear about all of these treasures. It was truly a collection. And it was not overrun with cases and cases of dusty wine. It was airy and beautiful and well presented. The most impressive thing was that everything I bought was under $20. I've worked through nearly all of them to this point and I will tell you that they were all delicious. My only regret is that I no longer live in Dallas and I have to drive four hours to get back to that little wine shop and stock up soon! Just go! You will be delighted.

I enjoy coming down to this liquor store and grabbing what I need without having issues on whether what I want will be in stock. Great little addition to the neighborhood. I would literally gave 5 stars but didn't like that I was at the register tasting and purchasing 4 bottles and the people who were there before me tasting who brought 1 small bottle was given a FREE bottle of something by the owner and I wasn't offered that with my multiple bottles. I had to ask the guy checking me out to call the manager to inquire as to what was the incentive. I was given something but why did I have to inquire and it wasn't automatic for me? Maybe because I was in jogging pants, a hoodie and a cute turbin? I would hate to think it's my ethnicity? I guess people in the middle of nowhere Texas aren't such big fans of craft beer. Why, y'all? There is so much more out there than Coors, Miller, and Bud. Either way, what's done is done and I'm going to go be sad about the state of the world and how come truly awesome businesses sometimes have to go out of business. Life isn't fair, I guess. If craft beer is your thing, and it totally should be, they are having awesome sales right now. I got four beer glasses, two four-packs of cider, and two large bottles of beer for less than $40. The sales are even better now, so go stock up on your favorites or, hell, get some new stuff to try because it's cheap.
