One thing I wish about my experience at Cafe Frida is that I HAD IT SOONER! Oh my! I rarely find myself in the Garland area, so when I began taking some pilates classes nearby, I knew I needed to find all the cute local gems! Cafe Frida being one of them! Not only is this cafe so cozy and comfortable, there is plenty of space to sit! It would absolutely be perfect for anyone looking for a good working from home location as they also have plenty of outlets! And the service! Oh my, the girls at the front have been so sweet and kind! They often make conversation while also helping choose the best options on the menu! Now for the good stuff! The Menu! I have yet to try any of their food options, but I have had a chance to try both their iced and hot lattes! I can confidently say that Cafe Frida knows what they are doing when it comes to a good cup of caffeine! Sometimes, especially when ordering something with a bit more sweetness, coffee or espresso can lose it's taste, and as someone who craves the taste of coffee and espresso, Cafe Frida def makes sure all flavors are balanced! I just love when a coffee isn't overtaken by so many different flavors! I already cannot wait to go back! I attend pilates on Wednesday's, so they will def be seeing me again! read more

Stopped by Cafe Frida during a Filipino-hosted Sungka Social event, and it was such a fun experience. It was great seeing people come together, play a childhood favorite, and connect with the community in such a welcoming space. My daughter ordered the White Raspberry Chocolate Matcha, and it was a unique and delicious drink. The matcha flavor was still prominent, while the white chocolate and raspberry added a nice sweetness without overpowering it. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were friendly throughout the event. Definitely a spot I'd return to for both the drinks and the community events! read more

Cafe Frida is such a cute cafe nestled in Garland. Its spacious, with ample seating and outlets! They also have an ice cream shop as well separated by a door. I ordered a banana matcha with oat milk and it wasn't overly sweet which i appreciate. I enjoyed it but I could've wished for more banana flavoring to come through. It said it came with banana milk but I asked if I wanted whole milk or an alternative so I wonder why the banana milk isn't standard. I think it would've enhanced the flavor. Oh and the menu notes ceremonial grade matcha for anyone wondering. The space is vibrant and bright with lots of decor going on. It seemed like a very popular spot with customers bustling in for a few hours. I'll be back to try some more matcha drinks and maybe the ice cream too. read more

We went to Garland Texas to visit a wholesale shop and stopped at Café Frida to have a little bite before we went shopping. It was the cutest little place ever! It was colorful inviting they had all kinds of different treats, foods, and coffees that we can choose from. I had the avocado toast. I ordered it with some of their most delicious bacon I've ever tasted on top. I also ordered the abuelita iced coffee, and everything just went very well together. Colorful and comforting is the best way I can describe this place! The outside AND inside of this spot are very vibrant but give a cozy vibe. There's tons of room for studying/hanging out and the workers are the sweetest! Be prepared to look at the menu for a while because they have so many GREAT options. I couldn't decide the Horchata or Ube matcha and the staff broke everything down for me. I ended up getting the horchata matcha, which was good but the matcha was a little overpowered by the cinnamon (which the workers did tell me lol). This place is sooooo cute! I stopped in with a friend for a drink and a snack. One side is the ice cream shop (dangerous) and the other side is a coffee shop. The decor is eclectic and funky, with lots of cool spaces to hunker down with your laptop. We sat on the couches and chatted away. The service was great! The women behind the counter were friendly and helped explained all the drinks. I got the Mexican mocha and it was delicious! My friend loved the matcha. Such a great tucked away spot! Place is right in the heart of Downtown Garland. Very cute and convenient location. Right from the outside you can appreciate the art and aesthetic let alone once you walk in. Atmosphere was pretty quiet when I walked in and there was no line either. The ladies at the register were nice and I ended up getting an Horchata Foam Latte. So I got the signature Frida Matcha Latte and boy I wasn't disappointed at all! The mexican vanilla + spices gave the drink a very unique flavor! I also got a ham and cheese pastry and it paired with the matcha latte perfectly. I also got a free sample of barria tacos from the food truck outside and I loved it so much, I ended up getting some tacos afterwards! This cafe ticked all the boxes for me: cozy spot to do some creative work, inspiring environment, hot drinks, and savory pastries. There's lots of comfortable seating, there's fresh plants, lots of artwork and really unique lighting. The service was friendly and helpful. The menu has so many unique options, plus a fun seasonal menu. I loved my iced coffee, I got the galleta, but slightly less sweet. My friend found this hidden gem. I thought it was cute and a great place to study and also if your a plant enthusiast. Cafe Frida shared a space with an ice cream shop next door. I cannot drink coffee, but I was happy to see other drinks such as teas and lemonade. I got the lavender lemonade and it was refreshing. I'd order it again. My friend got the dulce de leche. She said that it was really good - not too sweet. Later, we went to the ice cream shop (Scoop N Buns) next door. There's a door inside Cafe Frida! It was nice because it was terribly warm outside. I've been to Scoop N' Buns before but I didn't realize that they had a cafe connected to it. The decorations inside were gorgeous with lots of ambient lighting. Good amount of seatings and outlets here and there for people who want to get work done. I do wish that Scoop N' Buns and Frida played the same music though. It was funny to be listening to One Direction and chill music at the same time, made it a little hard to study but nothing headphones can't fix. I got the Vietnamese Coffee with Ube foam today. Coffee was pretty strong but I don't know if it was just me but I didn't really taste much of the Ube flavor. Maybe the coffee's bitterness overpowered it or I'm just used to a different ratio of Ube in my drinks. But overall, it was good! The only thing is that it took a while for my drink to come out, around 15 minutes. Could be because they had loads of other drinks ahead of mine but I didn't mind it too much due to the fact that I've had to wait for much longer at other places. Overall, I think that this place could be a really cute hang out spot with your friends. If you're planning on studying, I'd recommend bringing headphones in case the music overlaps or when it gets busier! read more

Yelp fam, this is DEFINITELY one to check out! Its just the overall happy vibe that is giving this place 5 stars. Literally encapsulates the energy of Casa Azúl in Mexico. You go through this unmarked, discrete yellow door, into a literal garden oasis to the sounds of Kali Uchis playing. Everything just felt so right. My galleta latte, steeper in price, but considering how much they packed into my cup, worth the $7. It was almost overflowing from Biscoff crumbs and froth. The best part was IT WASNT OVERLY SWEET WOOOHOOO. I've come to appreciate that more and more as I age lol. Service was average but girl was sweet and called out my name for my drink. I met up with some friends for a "this and yap" while back in Dallas at Cafe Frida in Garland. It is part of a Filipino icecream shop called Scoop n Buns. We were the first ones there and the inside was beautifully decorated. I really loved the vibe here. I had such a hard time deciding what to drink too. I ended up getting their galleta specialty latte, which includes cookie butter and biscoff crumbs. The drink came out very fast as well. Honestly, I didn't really taste the cookie butter or biscoff flavor but I still really liked the coffee. This coffee is a bit on the sweeter side as well. They have a special menu that they rotate every month/season. I want to come back later to try more drinks read more

I'm not one to write reviews normally, but I am currently eating their Turkey Chipotle Avocado Sandwich and it is sooo good!! For a pretty "basic" sandwich, it is amazing! The house chipotle mayo adds such a nice kick to it that it definitely makes it stand out! I love the spice it gives it but it's not too spicy, just perfect. I've been coming to Cafe Frida almost weekly since they've opened and I frequently visit their other businesses, Scoop n Buns and Scoop n Boba, and I have tried almost everything on all their menus lmao and I've never been disappointed. The service is always so friendly and sweet no matter how busy they get. As a restaurant/service industry worker, I know how difficult it is to maintain a friendly demeanor when under stress, but they do it wonderfully! For those who enjoy aesthetics too, Cafe Frida has it! It's so warm and peaceful and it's my favorite place to do work or study. I really wish this place had been open when I was in high school because I definitely needed it back then.
