I called Williams Door Company because they installed my garage doors 30 years ago. Within three…read morehours Steven arrived and replaced batteries in my remotes because the garage door was opening on its own accord. Steven checked the wiring in wall buttons and motor to the garage door and the brackets where he found cracks and replaced them. He was thorough and efficient. After all of this he reprogrammed the garage door opener to my car. Now with only a tap of a button on top of the rear view mirror the garage door will open or close. Steven is a very fine representative for a very fine company. Williams Door Company has been around fifty years.

The scheduler was rude and unprofessional. They told me their technician would arrive between 10…read moreand 12. We both work full time and are not usually at home. The technician arrived at 8, TWO HOURS EARLY. The scheduler tried to get a hold of us and acted annoyed that she was unable to, despite the huge time discrepancy on their end. We provided access into our garage for the technician without our being there. There was one car parked in a two car garage. Plenty of room for him to fix it. But it's against their policy to do so, which I understand. Neither scheduler advised us to have all vehicles removed. That is their job, to prepare you for what to expect. Even though technician could not work on the garage, for some reason he stayed for 45 minutes, according to Williams, to go ahead and diagnose the problem. He told my husband we simply needed a new belt (about 50$ on Amazon) plus we understand we would have to pay for labor. The scheduler called my husband and told him we needed to go ahead and get a complete new motor (working fine) for $500 and that they were charging us $133 for the technician call, who we missed because he was there 2 hours early. I called to complain and to see if they would refund the $133 service call because he didn't fix anything, because they messed up on the time. Talked to manager, Stacy, who was lovely and very appropriately apologetic. She admitted that Williams had "dropped several balls" with our service. However she is unable to issue a refund without the permission of Mr. Williams. She graciously pleaded our case to him, but apparently he is a very greedy man who does not do the right thing and he refused to refund our money. He said he would give us a $64 credit towards that $500 new motor and additional $133 service charge for the following business day. Whoopty doo!! Stacy tried to talk to him a second time and again he refused to do the right thing by his (repeat) customers. Although Williams does heavy advertising, they are not the only game in town. We found a different garage door company willing to send someone out on the weekend that provides free estimates before they bill you. And doesn't charge anything until they actually fix your problem. Don't just go with the name you've heard over and over on the radio. They don't deserve your business or your hard earned money, for nothing in return.
