Super expensive for what they did. I only wanted a new spring, but they said i need to have all new hardware to get a warranty. Nearly $700 later I had the door fixed. We called them and they were able to come out same day to fix our broken-old garages. They removed the old broken springs and replaced with new 5 year warranty spring system. All on the same day of us calling them. The guy who did the work was kind and knowledgeable. Totally recommend. read more

We have a 1950s wooden double garage door that was no longer functional, but was a character piece to our home. The technician came out within 15 minutes, completed a full inspection, showed us where the [problems were (typical for a old house with old equipment) and completely replaced the entire unit, laser, and remote system. I cannot stress how pleased and satisfied I am with Precision Door's (PD) service and quality work. My garage door's spring broke late in the afternoon. We couldn't lift the door manually because it was just too heavy. In desperation, I called 2 other companies, but no response or they were closed (this was around 5pm). Finally called PD. My call was promptly answered, and the kind lady quickly sent a service man within 20mins. James inspected the springs and other components and reminded me that they were over 21 years old! And that he was surprised they've lasted this long! He recommended replacing not only the springs but also the rollers And few other thing. There was no strong sales pitch. I agreed (I knew the garage door was old when we bought the house) and replaced everything in less than an hour. What a difference in the performance and the noise! I liked the efficiency, the work done and the technician. I called because the light didn't work on the opener. I diagnosed i needed a new circuit board. I priced them online for around $85-$125. The tech was here 45 minutes and brought another similar model and swapped out the circuit board. The charge was initially $365...$300 for the circuit board plus labor. So definitely overcharged for materials but 45 minutes of work for $65 was fair. It should have been $200 tops for the job. So overall happy with the work but disappointed by the price. PS the young man lowered it to $300 after some discussion but still disappointed. read more

I would not recommend this company Here's why. Service call charge fair enough. took the tech an hour to figure out there was no power to the door sensors. Replaced them ... $269.00???? You can buy an entire door opener motor/remotes/sensors for what they charged. I called another place I have used before , basically would have 100.00 less for the same thing, service call included. yes I signed the invoice but thought that was way to much money for something as simple as that. The spring on my garage door was broken and some of the operational parts were stripped. Of course, I did not know this was the problem when I called Precision Door Service. I was told that the repair would be $640.00. I am a widow and I needed a functioning garage door. I was told that I would receive an itemized statement in my email. After three requests, I have yet to receive an itemized bill. I have no idea what the charge was for each part or what I was charged for labor. After talking to others who are knowledgeable about garage door repair, I know that I was taken to the cleaners. I'm impressed! The spring broke on our garage door on a Saturday morning. It wasn't an emergency so I waited until Monday morning to call Precision. I called them at 8:55 and in less than one hour the technician, James, was at our house. He didn't press us to buy a lot of additional parts but did point out that the bearings and cables were pretty old (18 years) and really should be replaced. I know a bit about those things and he was absolutely correct. He replaced the springs, cables, and bearings in less than 40 minutes and the door works much more smoothly than it ever has. The problem I felt was that he was trying to do a sales pitch saying that I have to replace all the wheels and other moving parts! The basic problem was that the spring was broken; but he tried to get more sales by doing a pitch which went like the garage door will fail again! read more

This group is a class act in my book. We had an issue with the scope of the work that was done. I had been out of town when the work was done, and the person that authorized it, really wasn't in a position to do so. I called and talk to a manager and explained my concerns. He said he would talk to the owner, and would call me back. As promised he called back, and came to a very fair settlement. I think one of the most important things in any business is their level of customer service, and how they react to a customer's concerns. They obviously know how to do that. read more

The inspector noted that there was an issue with the garage door opener sensor and with the height of the side sensors. I found this company via an internet search. I called this morning to schedule an appointment because my garage door springs are broken. I also asked about a ballpark estimate; I was told that the service representative would provide me a full quote before any work was done. I was NOT informed that there would be a $65 charge just to have someone come to my house. The service representative arrived, and within two minutes told me that I needed approximately $600 worth of work done, so I told him I would wait. Then he informed me of the $65 service charge. Went through online chat to get an estimate on a spring replacement. My door only had a single spring lift system. I got a quote based on that. Once tech came on site he said they only do 2 spring replacements. Now I'm stuck with the additional cost of extra spring, they press for a door overhaul at almost 3 times original cost. Professional but be prepared for sticker shock!!! My first impression of the company is that they are very professional. They showed up at the appointed time, the technician even phoned prior to showing up. They emailed a picture of the technician prior to arrival. They lived up to their same day service. However, be prepared to spend a LOT of money. The technician was not allowed to fix my door (company policy regarding releasing the tension on the springs) but had to either replace several very expensive parts or I had to buy a new door, which would not be installed for about a week. My other option was to have a broken garage door and have paid $65 for a useless quote. So, $598 and less than 2 hours later my 12 year old door was operating the way it did earlier that same day. Granted I had new rollers, springs, etc. But $598??? The technician was courteous and efficient as he quickly replaced all the parts. Could my door just have been repaired without spending the money on the parts? YES. I think the company has a professional appearance but you might not have many choices other than throwing expensive parts at the situation. If you need repair call someone that repairs, if you want same day service and to rebuild your door with expensive parts, call them. read more
