But unfortunately I never got the estimate this owner claims. I did actually call and I was told "we're working on it and will have the estimate to you within the next week" - this was 2 weeks after the estimate was supposed to be emailed to me. Fortunately I did find wonderful contractors who did actually come to my house twice, once for the initial consultation and once more to double check the ascetics before finalizing the estimate- this other company I ended up hiring and was very happy. The job was $47,000 and this other company did a beautiful job.

Additionally, I had planned to just lay new shingles over the existing ones. Along with that, there was an issue with the roof over the portico by my front door that had to be fixed. Gina came by, took pictures, and told me exactly what they would do. She then pointed out one of the possible reasons I was having a leak in the house. (Shingles were installed improperly) BTW: Gina had just come back on the redeye from the West Coast, after attending a construction conference. She was so determined to see my house, and put all the necessary wheels in motion ASAP - she showed up SUNDAY, 7:30 AM - where most people would have gone home to get some sleep, she was there to help my project get started! (And was there throughout the whole process as well) We then discussed the difference in price for installing over the existing roof versus installing a completely new (ripping the old one off) roof. The cost, though not cheap, was better than anything I had been quoted prior to this. I ultimately decided to install a completely new roof. The roofers managed to take down the old roof, and install the new one in less than 10 hours (this was done in late November, and it got dark by 5:30), including cleanup of all debris! The gutter people who were subcontracted, did a great job with one minor exception. When I contacted Gina, her response was "I'll take care of it immediately". Two days later, the guys came by, and fixed the problem in about 20 minutes! Like the solar company that hired them, I felt confident from the first moment, that not only would the job be done right; Marcor would stand behind their work and deal with any problems - no questions asked. Marcor lists themselves as a roofing company - if you are in need of a new roof, or simply a repair on your existing roof, I would wholeheartedly recommend you get in touch with this company! Devin and his team really impressed me with their professionalism, creativity, and respect for my property. I did not have to chase them as to when they would be showing up as I have with other contractors. His estimate was very detailed and was easy to understand with breakdown and description. His 3D rendering was extremely impressive and really was representative of what he was able to create. Dan was present every single day to get the men set up and to do a check-in with me to make sure I was happy with the process from start to finish. Each day the crew left my property neat, never leaving garbage behind, and were very mindful to never leave my gates open due to me having 2 dogs. As for the work... I was unsure what I wanted exactly but knew I didn't want a cookie cutter yard like most of Long Island. Dan and Devin both worked with me to pick out the perfect colors and showed me how to best utilize the space I have. Based on Yelp reviews we then called Devin from Flawless Masonry & Landscape who told us a circular driveway was absolutely doable! Icing on the cake. Then the pandemic hit so the job was delayed (NY orders), but Flawless came through after re-opening and did a superb job for us. It took nearly 3 full days to complete the job, but all the while they showed me progress, explained how to care for the floor, and even came back a few weeks later to add additional trim for the stairway leading up, to match the newly installed trim.
