We learned not to show up at check in time because the lines can get a little long. We would go during the week when we had that option because it's way less crowded. Once you get a Winstar card, they send you all kinds of deals to save money and to use for gambling. For some reason, my dad was the only one that would receive a postcard in the mail for a free gift, so we would always get in line and claim that! The crowd is a little bit older and in some ways I really enjoyed that. I love their slot machines and they do offer free soft drinks and coffee while you are gambling. You're not allowed to take drinks onto the casino floor so be sure to have some available in your room. One great benefit for older folks is that they have free wheelchairs available at most of the entrances. You just pick one up on your way in and can use it for your stay, then just leave it at the door when you leave. And if there aren't any available, the staff is usually very helpful in finding one for you. It's really nice not having to load up a wheelchair in a vehicle when you make a trip to Winstar. And if you prefer a scooter, there are several companies that will deliver it right to the hotel. We tried several of the restaurants in the casino and our favorite was the fish and chips. They have quite a variety of food places throughout the casino. They also have a large variety of slot machines, from the newest to the oldest. And their casino is huge and very nicely decorated, especially the newer parts. I'm looking forward to my next trip there!

Some said there were some designated smoke areas but it seems like people smoke anywhere regardless. People are also dressed like they're just going to walmart or something. There were actually other eating places here, but we went for the Riverwind Buffet. Unfortunately, the rules were not really upheld because it was mentioned that the whole party must be in line but some people in front of us kept going in and out of the line. Not really the fanciest buffet compared to the ones I've been to especially Las Vegas. The selection is also very limited and personally the only best thing here is the Snow Crabs and their good selection of desserts. The calamari may be a good contender. Thankfully my baby loves their one and only soup which is the Broccoli and Cheddar. Unfortunately, even their one and only best thing had issues for me. I felt like some of the served crabs were not fresh and it gave off a really bad smell and weird taste giving me the impression that they've gone bad already. So, I would advise people not to just eat the crabs willy nilly without properly assessing it. Wish they had a cracker and some gloves to offer as well to help with eating the crabs especially the claw part. The server that we had was kind and attentive but lost our receipt. Thankfully the lost receipt wasn't an issue during our stay. The ambiance, like I said, isn't the best compared to other buffets to the Casinos I have been to in the Philippines and Las Vegas. Like personally, unfortunately, the Philippines Casino and Buffet is heaps better and most of the Casinos (which is most I have been to) in Las Vegas is like miles away from the Riverwind Casino and thats also in terms of their Buffet and ambience. It could have been better being one of the only few Casinos near OKC. One major complaint I have is the lack of bathroom inside the buffet area as it only had a one room/stall for each gender. Like you have to go outside the buffet to use the bathroom and even wash your hands if you can't wait for it. Thankfully the bathrooms in the casino area seems to be well taken care of as someone keeps cleaning it. The way to the bathroom in the buffet area is also disgusting as you would see all the left overs and unwashed plates on the way there. Overall, for a family birthday celebration, it was still okay and not the worst but not the best. Despite the crab issues, it is still worth coming back for it as the price justifies it especially if you love crabs (which is only available on Saturdays). Would definitely advise you all to come early as we spent majority of our time (like probably 1-2 hrs) waiting in line for the buffet.

Upon pulling onto the street where the hotel and casino is off of I saw that it has nice landscaping. It is very pretty and has a water feature. As soon as we walked into the hotel I noticed a very pleasant smell so they must pump an air freshener through. Its a very refreshing scent. Check in was a breeze as they were not busy being it was on a Monday, so we were finished within a few minutes. We got settled into our rooms and then went to the casino area. About maybe 10 feet before you get to the door of the casino area, you could smell the cigarette smoke. But honestly it was not overpowering and I didn't think it would deter anyone from enjoying themselves. The rooms themselves are really small. To be honest, it's the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in, but I Would absolutely stay here again as it was quite comfortable and clean. I guess the only potentially negative thing I would say in case others might want the information, would be that there are no refrigerators in the room. I personally do like to bring waters to keep cold, but they literally have ice machines on each floor so it still worked for me. I liked that there was a desk area so I can play on my iPad or laptop or whatever. I prefer to sit in a seat rather than on the bed. I would definitely stay here again and I'm glad we made the choice to come here!

A few minutes in after we were comfortable the general small talk was nice and the complimentary mimosas were exceptionally great. Dinner was amazing. Steak, duck, chicken, potatoes, dessert.... 10 out of 10. The lounge and bar areas were peaceful and accommodating. We loved everything. Our room was upgraded and even though it was raining it still was an amazing stay. Safe to say we will be returning! Thank you to all the staff. You all are amazing!
