There is always something nor quite right. .noise, inconsistent pressure, long wait, etc. But after my first massage, cannot find one thing that was negative. I got a massage from Britton - compliments Groupon. I'm a massage addict and I have to say that he has amazing hands! He's really calm and did a great job. The location was a bit off, but inside was great! I actually like the fact that the location is tucked away now. Kind of feels like you're going to a secret spa. I almost wanted to give him one star just so y'all wouldn't go and block up his schedule! lol, juuuuust kidding. He gets 5 because the massage was THAT good. Nothing weird about him, he does a good job. I only say that because I've had some weird massage experiences. One lady kept pushing on bones that hurt, another pulled my hair when she went to press her forearm on my back... I also had another masseuse dig their nails into my skin, leaving a scratch mark. I've been here now a couple of times for a facial and a massage and Robert is fantastic! Both times I had a GREAT experience. You can easily book your appointment online and if you need to make changes, they will easily accommodate your needs. Don't let the location weird you out! Both times I came here, Robert was very professional. He's extremely knowledgeable in his craft, and he worked on areas where my body and muscles were tense. I highly recommend the therapeutic massage... it's unlike no other! He gave me great advice on how to help relieve pain on a day-to-day. I don't get massages often, but Robert made me feel very comfortable from the beginning. He's super nice and very easy to talk to. The massage room is quiet, serene, and relaxing. Britton is one of the best massage therapists I have ever encountered! I'm a massage junkie, you might say--it's my favorite indulgence. Britton has the intuition essential for a great massage therapist: his hands go right to the spots of greatest tension on your body, and then they sink in and melt it away. He does a wonderful job following my requests (for example, to focus on my upper left back) while also listening to my body to best focus on the places that need the most attention. And if you want pressure, he will give you PRESSURE! I like deep tissue, and he does not hold back. My husband and I have both had such amazing massages from Britton. Plus, Britton's massages are such a great value. The price is so reasonable, and the massage always lasts the entire time you booked (one hour is truly one hour, not 50 minutes as happens at so many other spas where the transition time is built into the price). It's also a very comfortable, clean space outfitted with top notch equipment, like the heated massage table (don't be fooled by the outside). Finally, I always have a great time chatting with Britton during my massage. I could not recommend Britton more enthusiastically. What a delightful find this massage and facial care shop is. And so close to the Doubletree, the Crowne Plaza, Econolodge and the Drury Inn! Just scoot down Saint Johns to Guadalupe. You don't have to get on the highway at all. If you're stuck in the hotel with nothing to do this is the place to go and get pampered. If you've been in meetings all day and need a break, this is the place to go. They're open till nine by appointment! I just got the One hour facial, it included an arm and neck massage that relaxed me to my toes. The chair is so comfortable, the music is so soothing the ambience is wonderful and Robert works miracles with his hands. He includes gentle exfoliation, zit zapping and even eyebrow trimming if you feel like it. You deserve the deluxe, set up an appointment as you can. Their shop is minutes away . These guys recently change their name to Adagio Spa (from Amity Green Room). They have a brand new business but these guys are not brand new to the field. I discovered Britton at a chain massage place and I was so glad to hear that he and another therapist were starting their own business. No conracts, no obligations, just an incredible massage at a great price...LOVE IT! I am a designer and have been for 15 years. The work I do at the computer has left my neck, back, shoulders, and arms a complete mess. I couldn't sleep at night at times without medication it got so bad. When I discovered Britton that all stopped. His knowledge of the muscles and how they work and effect each other is like no other therapist I've ever had. He's not just a masseuse, he's a technician. This is what deep tissue massage is supposed to be. I would highly recommend anyone with muscle and back pain to give Adagio Spa a try. I'm sure they will be around for a long time. ***Update*** About 6 months ago, I started to develop planters fasciaitis and mentioned it to Britton. I also first tried this business back when they were Amity Green Room and were at their previous location. I had never had a massage before my boyfriend bought me a gift certificate, but it's safe to say that I am hooked and can really feel the difference after 90 minutes with Britton or Robert. I've had sessions with both Britton and Robert and have to say that they have different styles, but both resulted in wonderful improvements. Britton really focuses on the main problems areas (neck/upper back/arms... yay for a desk job!) and plantar fascitis (I too have this problem). The pressure was intense and targeted, but definitely in a "hurts so good" kind of way that really makes a difference. Robert was more of an all-over/functional type message (more movement, perhaps?), but they're both really accommodating and make sure what they're doing works for you. I got my boyfriend a gift certificate of his own for Christmas and can't wait for him to finally book his appointment, because I know he'll love it too. I've been to Britton three times now and have been very impressed with his ability to find my tight spots and work out the kinks. All three massages have been therapeutic, so deep tissue work and not very relaxing. But I have felt progressively better with each visit! I have a lot of neck and shoulder issues, so he needs the full 60-mins. to work on my upper body. He is very thorough! This last time I splurged for 90 mins. and he was able to work on lower body as well. This place was great. A little hard to find, but once you walk it you're in a zen place that smells great! There's a comfy couch while you wait and they have Dermologica skin care line available. Britton freakin rocked my world. I grind my teeth at night? Over use my right should playing sports and sleep on my left side, plus I hold all my tension in my shoulders--- that being said, Britton used a variate of techniques to get my shoulders to relax and to workout my neck! He started on my feet but but warm towel and long stone under my neck relax it. Long story short. My feet feel 100x better (I also have plantar fasciitis) and I could actually turn my head with out pain. His pressure was great. Experience was less than enjoyable. This spa definitely has a lot to work on. The atmosphere feels more like a dentist office, not a spa. You only get the spa feeling through the surround sound music being played. The masseur, unfortunately I only know him as that (that's not even a worthy title) he never even introduced himself. The massage wasn't even the 60 min I payed for. The foot massage/scrub was pretty much foot scrub rubbed on, wiped off. Do NOT waste your money on this place. He noticed that I had tightness in my shoulders and suggested some exercises that I could do at home or at the gym to loosen up. That was helpful. Good scheduling, friendly guy, and clean place however my spine is in aweful pain after the massage. The massage went fine until the 'neck stretching'. Now my neck and my spine between the should blades are a 9 pain level. I am a daily soccer player with no prior back problems. My girlfriend found these guys on groupon a while ago and gave me a couples massage as part of my birthday. We went in and I was immediately impressed. From the moment we walked in, they were kind and courteous and really wanted to help. They were very personable and very professional. The massage was fantastic. I've had probably 20 massages by 5 different people throughout my life and this was by far the best. He worked on exactly what I needed and my girlfriend(her first massage) said she would definitely come back to these guys. They stayed and talked with us on the way out. He pointed out where my trouble spots were and we talked about possible causes and solutions for these problems. He was incredibly knowledgeable and very understanding.
