When we initially called the company, we explained that we would be using a renovation loan to fund the project and went into detail how said loan worked with payment. We were assured that it was ok, thus we scheduled an estimate. We had a limited amount of days to get the quote in to our lender, and was upfront about that. We were told by the estimator that we would have the quote either later that day or the next. We ended up having to hound the company for the quote and it took a week to receive, thus delaying our close. It was like pulling teeth receiving information from this company. The worst part was when it came time for us to receive the clear to close. Our bank sent Michigan Screen & Window Repair the agreement, and on the third business day they still hadn't sent the agreement back. With renovation loans, you need a signed agreement in order to receive the funds for the project. After many calls, we learned that they REFUSED to sign the agreement because they needed the deposit first. Why it took 3 business days to tell us this is beyond us. We then said we could write a personal check so that we could get the agreement signed. Once the bank cuts them the check, they could just reimburse us. They said NO and would only return the deposit check to the bank. At this point we had our mortgage officer call them to try to explain better and they wouldn't budge. They even told our mortgage officer that they would have to send the agreement to their attorney first to review "and this would add time and money to our quote". Our bank has never had this issue with any contractor before, and we do not have these issues with our other two separate contracting projects. The phone call ended with Michele (their office manager) telling us that we would be best going with a different company. We were supposed to get the clear to close on our house today, and instead we are scrambling to find a whole new contractor. What this company has done is completely unforgivable and unprofessional and WILL be reported to the BBB for how they handle business. It should have been communicated to us from the beginning that they cannot accommodate renovation loans and time frames, especially since that was the premise of our first conversation with them. Do NOT use this company for your screen or window needs. You will regret it.

Amanda was very nice and professional, but for $27,000 I could buy a new car, get two new roofs put on my house with some money left over, or take a globe-trotting vacation! I have had a tech come out and look at my brand new windows and sliding glass doors 7 times now. The bottom of my sliding glass door has been freezing ever since they put it in. The door is no longer aligned correctly there is mold all over the tracks and around the bottom. The screen door doe not stay on the tracks. The window have a lot of condensation the at the middle of the panels the condensation is freezing. (Yes i know some condensation is normal thats what they keep telling us every time we say something about it. Pretty sure cold air is coming in freezing that condensation that is probably accumulating because there is air coming in.

I had this work done maybe about four years ago and they have been terrible to work with to get something repaired. If I could do it all over again I would go with Anderson Windows. Really bad company to deal with. (Pella) I don't post but I just had to let people know to run in the opposite direction when U hear the name Pella. I had to call Handyman to get my door taken care of. They had no problem taken (Pella) my thousands of dollars but refuse to fix things when they aren't working properly.

I have no problem giving a 5 star review for this carpet installation but this could have easily…read morebeen a 2-3 star review if not for Sharee and the people at Floor Coverings International (FCI). The initial home consultation with Paul was great. He had tons of samples and showed us many options and gave recommendations based on our needs. There was never any pressure to buy and he spent quite a bit of time going over the whole process and answering all our questions and concerns. We decided a few days later to go with FCI based on our meeting and the fact that their prices were competitive with the other quotes we received. Then things turned South. We were told it would take about 2-4 weeks to get the carpet from the factory. After a month, they contacted us and said that the factory was still back ordered and it would be another month. They were very apologetic and ended up removing the cost of moving the furniture from our bill. The carpet order finally arrived and we were set up for an install on November 3rd. The installers came out and had most of the old carpet ripped out and the new carpet pad laid and started to bring in the new carpet. They started to unroll the carpet and lo-and-behold - not the carpet I ordered! I took pictures and called Erick and explained the situation. He was very sympathetic to our situation and even offered a good discount on this carpet if that was an option for us. It was a nice carpet but we were set on getting the carpet we ordered so declined the offer. We had to live for a month on our 1st floor with only carpet pads for flooring. Not fun! They reordered the carpet and installed it on December 5th. The installation went without a hitch and the carpet looks great. Here's the best part. Sharee negotiated with Shaw Carpets and got them to pay for half of the cost of the carpet. Even though this whole situation had nothing to do with the people at FCI, they offered to cover the cost of the other half. How great is that? Would I recommend this company to my friends and family? You bet! If I need more carpet or flooring in the future you can be sure that they'll be the first ones I call. Thanks Sharee and Erick!
