I was blown away by the professionalism, quick service and kindness of the young man that helped me yesterday. I had a car problem while driving from Indiana on 94 on a Sunday afternoon. Had to stay at a local Hampton Inn (which was also wonderful btw!) Monday morning I showed up hoping I could get my car looked at that morning as I was trying to get to my sick Dad in Minneapolis. Adams has definitely earned a loyal customer. I got a new car a couple of years ago, so it hasn't needed much service so far, but I will certainly (not only recommend, but) exclusively use Adams for routine services like oil changes and tire rotations. If ever I need a shop for any other vehicle service/repair/maintenance, Adams Automotive's number is in my phone because their service has always been outstanding. They respect their customers (even those of us who don't know that much about cars...). Their respectfulness, simplicity & efficiency have earned this 5-star review. Additionally, when I researched local prices for routine maintenance like oil changes & tire rotations, Adams was always the best value. (Even over my dealership). So: When you make your routine oil-change appt, ask whether they're offering a free tire rotation--I never needed to ask bc they offered the sale info, but hat might be helpful. It's never a long wait. With our record-low temps & record-high snowfall this winter (2019), I've needed to call for a tow & two jump starts. Adams' service was simple, very timely & efficient--even during our nastiest winter weather. So far, I've had my car in for two routine oil changes/tire rotations/routine maintenance appts & one battery replacement, as well as a couple of jump starts. When I researched local prices, (even with the offers from my dealership) Adams always had far better pricing than other local shops, so I brought my car there when I realized that I needed a new battery. I've spent a fair amount of time in their waiting area during this fall & winter; it's always been a pleasant-enough experience. Although they don't have warm cookies, coffee or cocoa, nor do they offer vending-machine vouchers for such, none of that especially concerns me. I'm there for vehicle maintenance, not a snack. Other good stuff: My car dealership never alerted me to the fact that my car needed a fresh air filter--then, Adams staff took the time to show me my old (gunky & awful) filter vs a new one. They talked WITH me about how that affects gas mileage, etc, and asked whether I wanted them to install a new air filter. Of course I did, but they never once pushed me toward a purchase I didn't want/need based on visual evidence & solid explanations about how each part affects another, etc. The price difference was only ~$20 & my conversation with the service person helped me to learn more about my car's routine maintenance & future care for maximum longevity & performance. After some -50 degree temps this winter, and considering the three short years I've owned my car, the fact that I needed a new battery this winter wasn't really a surprise. They took the he time to explain how long car batteries typically last, etc. Long story-short--know this: I've never felt short-changed or over-charged for anything I've ever needed from any auto shop so far. If you're wondering about where to go for great service & the stuff you might need for your car, definitely bring it to Adams. I'm so thrilled that I've found this place! I mean, some people wouldn't get excited about finding "their favorite auto shop," but I guess I am pretty lucky to have found Adams...Although I wish I could do my own car maintenance, I don't have the space; I'm happy that Adams is so awesome. They've never tried to sell me anything that I didn't need--that's fantastic. This place is horrible! My mother went to get her oil checked and they checked it and said it was fine. My mom comes to get her car and her car is biting hot. If she hadn't had realized her car would've caught on fire. Then my other parent had an appointment to go get their car fixed and they didn't even fix it until 3+ days later. The employees there are not professional at all. HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND. read more

I have AAA and thought i needed a tow so AAA sent out a truck from Adams and the guy was AMAZING. My truck was stuck in park due to a wiring issue but otherwise ran fine. He showed me how to manually override it and let me drive around the block to see how i felt driving it while he waited to make sure i would be okay! He was so kind and knowledgeable. I got a flat tire at the Kwik trip 500 feet away from their building. My jack broke when I was jacking up my car because it's old and I call these people just needing someone to jack up my car so I could change the tire and they tell me there's going to be a $50 service charge. For 10 minutes of helping a guy out. That's ridiculous. Gave a very poor impression of their business. read more

Overpriced and not very knowledgeable. Cost me over 1k to have brakes and front right control arm done. They forgot to tighten my lug nuts when done so lugs broke off. Then later found out they didn't even put the right rotors on. They were undersized and didn't even fit the hub. Definitely not a place I recommend! read more

I had the worst experience ever! Called them at noon to get my car towed because it wouldn't start and they never showed up until 8pm. I called them around 5pm to see if they were still coming and all they said to me was "Do you still need your car to be towed? If so we can be there in an hour to get your car." An hour went by and they never came. Decided to call them back and they said they sent someone over but didn't show up until 8pm. When my car was there, they told me they won't be able to take a look at my car for another couple of days because they were pretty busy because of the holiday and I understood that. When they called me back about my car, they said they didn't find anything wrong with it. They diagnosed it and everything but they still couldn't find anything wrong. They said they just put starting fluid into my intake and it was working perfectly fine. I was pretty excited that my car was fixed!! The day when I picked up my car, it still sounded the same. I drove it for a day and my car died AGAIN! It got me really frustrated because who even knows if they fixed the problem. So I decided to stop at Auto Zone to get starting fluid for my car because that's what Adams Automotive used to get my car working. Drove my car for another day and it just completely DIED on me. I was going to call Adams Automotive back to see if they can find what was causing my car to keep dying but my brother insisted me to not go there and go somewhere else. Took my car over to Interstate Auto and within that day, they found what was wrong with my car; my Fuel Pump pressure was the issue. I'm pretty upset because I spent money and an auto shop that couldn't even find out what was wrong with my car. Never ever taking my car to Adams Automotive. read more

I have had limited interaction with Adams up until a few days ago. As the only tower still servicing AAA clients, I have had a few instances to deal with them and was impressed by their driver's skill and customer focus. Earlier this week I had another opportunity to interact with them. Pleasant and professional as always. When I got my car back, it was completely undrivable due to some suspension damage. Since my mechanic did not work on my suspension it had to have happened during the tow. I called the folks at Adam's automotive fully expecting to hear denials and excuses. What I got was the complete opposite. Professional, respectful, apologetic, and understanding. They responded to my call quickly and have gone over and above by keeping me informed about what is going on and their decisions. Mr. Adams has contacted me several times and is a true joy to deal with. I believe that I have found my new honest mechanic. Great job to the staff at Adam's.
