We used Adam's Canopy Service for a number of items on our wedding day. At first I thought all we needed was a tent, but as the date approached Adam helped us obtain; tables, chairs, a dancefloor, some big fans, and a few extra coolers. Every time I called to ask, "Hey, do you happen to have _____?" the answer was Yes. Everything arrived on time. (Actually a couple days early!) Everything was exactly as specified. Even though he was usually busy, Adam personally made a point to be the main point of contact for the entire process. Some of the most reasonable prices in town. We ended up requesting a slightly larger tent than originally planned, and the extra cost wasn't bad at all. read more

Stay away from this shady guy! We rented a tent from Adam for the Pecan street festival. When we arrived in the morning to setup our booth we noticed it was missing the front cover that enables us to cover that tent at night and protect our products from theft and damage. We tried contacting Adam all day, but his phone went straight to voice mail. We sent him multiple text messages describing the situation and got a short response that the cover is there, although it clearly wasn't. He did not have anyone at the event to make sure things are running smoothly (he was renting multiple tents to different vendors). Finally, he shows up at 9:30 pm after I had to let all my employees go home and wait there to resolve the issue (it's either closing the tent or breaking down completely and that wasn't possible since we had another day left for the event). He comes in and instead of apologizing to me, his customer, for his unprofessional behavior he starts confronting me saying that the cover was there, and someone stole it. Apparently, they were missing from 5 other booths... So instead of admitting that he or an employee of his made a mistake he chose to blame his customer. And now to top it all he told me that he doesn't trust me and that he wants me to pay him now, or else he will breakdown his tent! I told him I have no problem paying him. He then comes back few minutes later with a piece of paper asking me to write down my credit card information. I of course declined and said that I will only pay through an authorized credit card machine and I do not give away my credit card info in such an unsecured way. At that point he threatened to breakdown my tent immediately and started shouting and being very physically intimidating, at which point I called the police and the show's producer. The producer apologized to me and offered to cover the tent's rental cost. I would recommend staying away from this guy and avoiding doing any business with him or his company. When I asked Adam if he doesn't care what customers think about his services and that he is damaging the reputation of his company, he said "I don't care, I don't answer to anyone I've been doing this for 20 years I have enough work". So, let's help Adam out! and not use his Canopy \ tent rental services anymore, apparently, he's got enough work that it's ok for him to treat his customers like garbage. read more

Aside from forgetting to book my order for two tents, they made up for it in the end. Adam's guys were over in three hours setting up a last minute tent on a Saturday afternoon. They were back the next day for tear down. Would do business with them again. Just need better confirmations. read more

I'm going to preface this by saying I have only written two Yelp reviews before this. I'm laid back, pretty understanding and can easily move on as long as people admit their mistakes and apologize. That being said, last month a emailed every tent rental company around Austin looking to rent a tent for a few days the following week--in the title and body of those emails I specifically said that I needed a quote 3-4 times. Adam responded later that day so I passed his quote on to my boss. No one from my company contacted him after that. This morning I received two phone calls back-to-back from a number I didn't recognize. I sent the first call to voicemail, but answered it the second time since it seemed important. The caller nicely informed me that he was from Adam's Canopy and he was at the location to setup my order and I responded that I didn't know anything about that order and that I would call back after checking with my co-workers. (I do contract work, many vendors have my information saved in their files as the point of contact for companies I haven't worked for in years so it's not out of the realm of possibilities that someone else reached out and booked them but my info is still listed in their file.) Within seconds of getting off that call, Adam Gonzales was calling/texting me while I'm calling people I worked with trying to find out if they had booked a tent and they hadn't. Adam was pretty short with me since I didn't answer his call right away. I explained that I couldn't because I was trying help him and I said that no one with that company ordered a tent. He told me that "I had. [He] talked to me himself", and I promised him it wasn't me. We went back and forth like this majority of the call and he would say that I was "lying", "[He] could prove it because [my] number is in [his] call log"., "[I] had called from this number and that [he] talked to [me] directly and we hashed it all out". I "guaranteed that it wasn't me" and he "guaranteed that it was". I told him the dates I was getting the quote was for a month prior and he didn't give me a real answer on how he came to the conclusion of delivering the items today. Near the end of call I said nicely, "I didn't make the call, but I'm not saying someone else didn't place an order so you should check your call log and find out who did." he huffily said "whatever" then hung up on me. Adam was incredibly disrespectful the entire call. I don't know how someone has the audacity to essentially call someone a liar multiple times without double-checking stuff on his end first. I figured sooner or later he would figure out his error and apologize, but that's expecting too much of a man with no character or integrity--I'm glad we didn't do business with him and now I never will. Adam--the words "I'm sorry" need to be added to your vocabulary. read more

I have done business with Adam's Canopy for almost 9 years. I have been pleased with the service that I have received and the courtesy. I have never been disappointed with any arrangements that have been made. Adam has been gracious to service our needs at the last minute as well. Adam's Canopy provided the tent, tables, chairs and heaters for our outdoor wedding on one of the coldest and windiest days of the year. They were super flexible and even setup the tent 2 days early to avoid some of the worst weather. Although we experienced wind gusts over 20 miles per hour and a temperature that dipped into the 20's, our wedding was a great success and the tent and heaters provided by Adam's Canopy were exactly what we needed. I do not like leaving negative reviews, but I thought I might save others the hassel I endured with this business. This business is incredibly flaky. I was told they would work with me to find me a tent, however I was left high and dry. Unfortunately there is very little follow-through on this business and they do not treat their customers well. If looking for tent rentals, I would recommend Raquel's Party Land, it's right down the road, offers tents for half the price and has amazing customer service. This company is not reliable. I was scheduled to have a tent for my daughters wedding (rain in the forecast) and he didn't show up during the scheduled timeframe. I had to call him to find out where the tent was. He stated he lost his keys and couldn't get in his shop and he wasn't sure he could deliver the tent. read more

This business was recommended by a trusted source and the owner sounded responsible and honest. But at noon on our daughter's wedding day, with rain forecast and 125 guests, he was a no-show. Not only that, he did not even bother to call. We had to chase him down - he did not reply to his emergency number - and he said, "I won't be able to make it after all." Then he had the nerve to add that he would not charge us! I recommend no one use this business. The owner's word is not believable and he lacks integrity. read more

Adam is not terribly responsive, which is frustrating - he REALLY needs to hire some college kid for $10/hour to answer phones and to respond to customers - but he's super nice when you finally get him on the phone; his prices are reasonable; and he will go above and beyond to help make sure you are a happy customer when it comes down to it.
