So my kid was turning 7, right? He wanted a Moonwalk and a pinata. So we hopped in the car and hit all the places on Cesar Chavez Street looking for the perfect pinata. Raquel's Party Land had the best selection by far.He picked an orange Longhorn. I had previously looked online for moonwalks. The costs differ widely across the board. He wanted a combo (that's a moonwalk with a slide). So since we were there, I thought I'd check out their prices. I told them what I was wanting, and they showed me a picture of a green and blue one with a Tinkerbell banner. Then they explained how they can change the banner out. They had a Longhorn banner they could attach instead. We worked out a deal for the pinata and moonwalk. They even threw in a table and 8 chairs to go with, all for a very good price. I put down a $20 deposit and we were set. The day before the party was wet and the next day looked to be even wetter. I called them to discuss my options. They informed me that, although the deposit is nonrefundable, my deposit would be good for one year from the original reservation date. They also said they would call the next day before they delivered to verify the delivery. Whew! That put my mind at rest, but I really wanted it for the party day. I mean, the thought of 20 kids in the house did not sit well! Party day. First thing I did when I woke up was check the weather. 100% chance of rain. Next, I found myself on a website checking the hour-by-hour futurecast. It looked like a break in the rain, or spotty at best, during the 2 hour party window. They called, I said bring it on, and they came and sat it up. The skies cleared about an hour before the party and I had 20 bouncing, screaming, smiling, kids. Although they had said they would pick it up around 11 the next morning, they actually didn't get by until 5:30. That's like a whole other day! When discussing pinatas with a parent at the party, they said they thought the best place was "that first one you come to on the left and also on the opposite corner". I said that's Raquel's. Since I tried yelping first to find a good place for pinatas and couldn't find anything, I decided to let you know about my experience. Love these guys for bouncy houses! They are always on time and very friendly. Great family and great business! We live pretty far from their shop "we are almost to Dripping Springs" but they have come out 2 times nice and early, set up and be out before the party. This is my go to party shop! The kids love the houses and they have so many different banners for the kids theme party. So far we have done Mickey Mouse Club house, Minecraft and will be doing Minni Mouse next time. I wish I could give Raquel's Party Land 10 stars. We just had a backyard wedding for 100+ people, and Raquel and her staff could not have been more helpful. First of all, we contacted many businesses to rent chairs, tables and a 20x20 tent, and Raquel's prices were BY FAR the best. There were no outrageous add-on costs for delivery and set-up,etc. and they were very flexible in scheduling the delivery. Isaias and his crew were very friendly, and very efficient at arriving on schedule, and getting things quickly loaded in and set up. I will always go to Raquel's party land for any event. They were amazing! We had planned an outdoor concert for this past Saturday. It started pouring in the afternoon and most of the tent rentals I tried to contact didn't even answer the phone or closed by 2 pm. We contacted Raquel's at 6:30 for our 8 pm event. Not only were they available, they had two of the tents we needed, were able to assemble them for us and met us at the event in under 45 minutes. The prices were very fair and they were unbelievably pleasant throughout the whole experience. They really saved the day! read more

There are about 5 of these places with in a few blocks of each other over here on Cesar Chavez. They all have pretty much the same stuff for pretty much the same prices. What makes the difference is your experience in dealing with the employees and owners. I've been to several of them and had some pretty poor customer service. Raquel's, on the other hand has always been very friendly, and helpful. It's a small family run business and you can tell that they are happy to help you, not annoyed that you are bothering them. The store is pretty small but they have a large warehouse full of stuff, so while some of the bigger stores run out of inventory ( tables, chairs, etc ) Raquel's always seems to have stock. read more

While I'm sure they're great for party supplies and piñatas, I'd advise anyone renting tables and chairs from here to think twice OR carefully inspect the condition they are in before leaving the store. I rented 2 rectangular tables with 16 chairs and was shocked at how dirty everything was. Dirt and food was caked over everything. Surprised they would rent out their product In that condition. I drove an hour to this location after reading the Yelp reviews and I am so glad I did! I had no clue as to what kind of pinata I needed for a 5 year old's birthday party when I walked in. The owner (I'm assuming?) was so nice and she asked me questions I never thought of when she saw I was being indecisive. Who knew choosing a pinata would be so hard? It was a very smooth transaction that lasted no more than 10 minutes, which is awesome! She had a very impressive selection and I'm sure I'll return if I ever have kids. Thanks again! It was the best of disasters. Isaias and Raquel were very helpful and we arranged the equipment well ahead of time. For whatever reason, perhaps because I was doing everything from out of town, when the day arrived we discovered that there had been two huge miscommunications! Isaias went above and beyond to make things work out. I can't say enough about how willing he was to find a solution, even coming out early and trucking in a third tent! This lady is a bitch!! We scheduled to rent tents and bouncy houses 3 weeks in advance. After initial visit and email I never heard from her again. Tried calling several times and it was always no answer! I finally go down there to see what the heck was going on and by no surprise, she wasn't there!! We have rented from Raquel's twice and have had great experiences both times. The first time we rented a moonwalk for the next day and they gave us a great price and showed up on-time.
