We used Adam's DJ Service for our wedding on 03/17/12 and couldn't have been more pleased. We were referred to Adam's DJ Service by a friend who was happy with the service she received at her wedding. When we first contacted Adam by phone he was extremely friendly and helpful in explaining the services he would be able to provide and the cost. We were specifically looking for a DJ who was not "cheesy" and who would listen to our wishes and carry out the style of wedding reception we were looking for. We met with Travis and felt very comfortable right away because he was friendly and easy going, but also very professional. He met us in person at our venue in south Seattle to discuss the details of our event. He generously offered to give us the same rate our friend had received, even though our event was scheduled for a Saturday, not a Friday (which is generally discounted). Following our first meeting and signing the contract we spoke with Travis on the phone several times before our event to go over details. He really got a sense of our general style and was able to convert that over into a fantastic event. Travis arrived early at 3pm to set up his equipment before our guests began arriving, and then returned after the ceremony to begin the cocktail hour music (we had a live musician planned for our wedding ceremony). He was even nice enough to run the audio and controls for a slide show we had prepared during dinner, which was not in his job description. After dinner our guests danced all night long and Travis played until the very last second when he needed to begin packing up (our venue had a "hard out" at 1am). He played an amazing mix of music that we had recommended plus his own choices, and many of our guests stated that our wedding reception was "better than any club in Seattle." In particular, we really appreciated Travis's flexible personality, his promptness and excellent communication skills, and his willingness to jump in and help with whatever we needed for our wedding. We really feel that we got an incredible value for the cost, and would recommend Adam's DJ Service to anyone looking to have a fabulous event. read more

My husband and I were in search of a DJ with fun lighting options and Adam came highly recommended by our venue coordinator. At our first meeting, Adam really won us over with his upbeat personality, sense of humor, and presentation of his lighting and music services. He was more than willing to work with us on a custom package that fit our needs and price range. Communication with him was always fast and easy. Two weeks before the wedding, we had our final meeting to go over what kind of music we wanted played and day-of schedule. We presented him with his filled out music planner form along with a list of songs we liked for reference and I felt he immediately understood our music style as all his suggestions going forward were spot on. My one concern was mixing since I hate mixes that make songs nearly unrecognizable, but Adam told me not to worry. In the end, we specified types of music for each part of the reception and let him to choose the songs. At the wedding, Adam did a fantastic job. The uplighting and monogram really added to our venue decor since the walls and floors were all concrete. He suggested the shoe game(we had never heard of it) and it was a huge hit with all our guests! We really can't say enough about how awesome the music turned out. My prior concern about unrecognizable mixed songs was not an issue. In fact, he did an excellent job mixing many of the songs on the list we provided plus more. The dance floor was going all night and there wasn't a single song we didn't like. The thing we liked most about Adam is his genuine desire to make your event fun, memorable, and overall successful. He certainly achieved this at our wedding and I really think his music and lighting tied everything together. We would certainly recommend him to everyone! read more

At first my Fiance (now wife) was not on board for hiring a professional DJ service for our wedding. After some convincing and reading several pages of Yelp reviews we decided to hire Adam. BEST DECISION WE MADE HANDS DOWN! Yes, Adam provides all the DJ services you will need to take you through the ceremony to late night dancing, but he was much more than than to us. He was essentially a wedding planner that also handled the DJing. Without him and his assistant our wedding would have been a huge jumbled mess. Adam took the time to sit down with us a few weeks before the wedding to make sure every detail was worked out and made sure we had a concrete script for how things would go. We initially found Adam on Yelp when searching for wedding DJs and I was really impressed by his clear pricing and his quick response to my inquiry. He was great to work with at all steps of the process - from planning to the big event. From the email we wrote to Adam: We just wanted to let you know that we thought the whole process - from initially meeting with you until the actual wedding - was great! You were always prepared and personable. You made us feel very comfortable and had great ideas for our big day. We especially liked the suggestion to do a receiving line before the buffet. It worked out great and tons of people complimented us on it. We got so many rave reviews on both our ceremony and reception music! Adam was amazing! From the first conversation we had til the night of the wedding, he was professional but easy to talk to, went beyond his dutiess and really wanted to get to know us as a couple. Adam first met with just me, we went over my budget and came up with a plan that was right for us and our wedding. Adam was always quick to respond to emails and questions. What put Adam above the rest was when he came to our house to meet with us and finalize plans before the wedding. He usually prefers to meet with people "in thier element" at home. He came over and met our dog (like he had a choice with a lab who loves to lick). He had a great way of getting to know our individual music tastes and come up with a music set that would work for both of us. He made this process fun and non-stressful (something that I was worried about). Knowing our personalities he made suggestions until we had a plan. At our wedding rehearsal, he was professional, introducing himself and asking questions when needed of our officient, planner and my parents. He checked in often with Rob and I during the wedding about the tempo of events and reminding us of things coming next. The negatives outweigh the positives tenfold in the case of my wedding. I am furious and will NOT be recommending this DJ to anyone. Here is a brief list of everything that went wrong: 1. When Adam could not make it to my wedding he promised a DJ who would be equally skilled. Our new DJ, Joel, could not even make the trip up to meet with us for a personal consultation; that should have been my first sign. 2. At my wedding, Joel interrupted us multiple times to the point where it became difficult for us to enjoy our own wedding. In fact, he interrupted us during our PRIVATE moment, right after we were pronounced man and wife, and wanted just 1 minute alone together. 3. He played "corny wedding songs" like 'Celebration' even though I specifically asked him not to on our contract. 4. He would not take requests from my family and wedding party even though I specifically asked him to. 5. The "Dollar Dance" was so poorly announced that my family had no idea it was going on and my husband and I were left to a humiliatingly empty dance floor as we danced with each other to money songs (he should have at that point walked around and tried to get people on the dance floor). 6. He stopped playing music at the exact 4 hour mark so that when we had our big send off 10 minutes after that he would not play music for us and my parents had to usher people outside. 7. and this is the biggest one, HE DID NOT RECORD OUR WEDDING VOWS OR SPEECHES EVEN THOUGH IT WAS IN THE CONTRACT. The ONLY reason I chose Adam's DJ Service over others was that they had a connection with Lumina Photography and could give them a recording of our wedding to put to Lumina's slide show of pictures. However when we called Lumina to get our slideshows they said they had not received the audio, leaving us to find out that what was recorded during our ceremony was 20 MINUTES OF SILENCE. Our DJ even had an assistant, and between the 2 of them they could not figure out how to hook up the recording equipment and did not test it. Needless to say we were NOT impressed. If you can get Adam himself to DJ your event then go for it, but do NOT trust his other DJs unless you meet them in person first. At least Adam is doing all he can to make things right for me, but we will never get our audio back. read more

Adam DJ'd my parents 50th wedding anniversary. I can't tell you the piece of mind I had knowing he would handle the entertainment part of the evening and keep the party going smoothly so I knew that the guests were having a good time. I sent him a slideshow of 50 years of photos I wanted to share with everyone and it was stressing me out. As soon as he had it in his hands, I was in good shape and didn't even know it. He took some photos that were a little blurry and was able to refocus them so everyone could see them better. He set it to the music I chose, and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. I appreciate his professionalism and ability to have fun and get people out on the dance floor. He managed to bring the younger kids out on the floor even with music from my parents era (which to the kids is really old music!). Thanks again, Adam. Adam is the DJ of choice among my college friends because not only is he a great guy but he's great at what he does. When I got married, I didn't hesitate to contact Adam, although I was living in another state. We were able to come to a very reasonable agreement about travel costs in addition to his service costs. And he more than delivered. He was on time, professional, played everything we asked for and nothing we didn't. Before hand he had us fill out a survey so he had an idea of our musical likes and dislikes and so he would know the flow of the reception and what to play when. He also offered terrific advice about what he knew to work well from all of his experience. He did an amazing job and I've even since been asked by friends and family for his contact info so they could also hire him. Unfortunately living in another state makes that difficult but I think it speaks for itself that people remember what a great job he did at our reception, even years later. read more

Adam has so much personality, I really enjoyed working with him for our wedding last wednesday. He knew all the right questions to ask us to really get our personality to shine through. We had a wonderful experience with Adam! He took the time to work with us to get a very good understanding of who we are and what kind of experience we were hoping to have at our reception. He was very knowledgeable about all types of music genres and had good suggestions for us for things like entrance music, first dances, etc. We had a reception that was spread out across a venue with both indoor and outdoor aspects, so we were concerned that it might be difficult to deal with the logistics involved. Adam handled it all like a pro, providing a clear and well-transitioned experience that made it feel like multiple people were managing all the equipment involved. We loved and got lots of compliments from our guests about his "shoelywed game" which provided a great transition between dinner and dancing. Finally, of course, Adam provided a perfect and well-rounded dancing set that appealed to all the generations represented at our reception. Adam was the DJ at our daughter's wedding. It was amazing. He started the reception with smooth, quiet music suitable for "settling in". He was right on top of the parents dance, first dance and my favorite, the "shoe game". He moved smoothly into a medley of 50s thru early 70s music, which us "old folk" rocked out to. We hired Adam to provide DJ and lighting services our wedding ceremony and reception. Originally, we had thought of hiring a band for music and a separate lighting vendor but soon realized that a DJ can provide both AND that music selection can be more varied and predictable. He was recommended to us in a short list by our wedding coordinator, Wendy (Weddings With Wendy), who only had the best things to say about Adam. We then reached out to him for a introduction and he offered to meet us in person, which we later found that he does with all prospective clients. In meeting with Adam for the first time, we found him to be professional, kind, accommodating, and very down to earth. He walked us through the planning process and let us know what to expect throughout, listened and answered all of our questions thoroughly. He offers several packages with different options for music and lighting services, as well as a la carte add-ons. We chose one that included both and told him about other lighting (chandelier silhouette and fairy light photo backdrop) and special effects (dancing in the cloud) that we wanted to incorporate which he hadn't offered before. He then offered to provide those services to us at a very reasonable price. He also offers several discounts on top of his very reasonable pricing. We communicated with him over our entire 9 months of wedding planning to keep him informed of our wedding day logistics. He was very responsive whenever we had changes or questions, not only to us but also to other vendors on our team. On the wedding day, everything went exactly as planned and we couldn't be happy with the results that Adam's team delivered. My husband and I got married this past summer and people are STILL talking about how amazing Adam was. We had a complicated venue with multiple locations and he was amazing at helping move 200 people from one place to another. The music was INCREDIBLE - it was everything (and more) that we asked for and he consistently kept things running smooth while still keeping it fun for us and our guests. There were so many occasions where he went above and beyond to make our wedding day especially memorable: Adam provided the music at our rehearsal dinner (not because we asked but because he was just there setting up so he threw on some tunes for us), he helping coordinate a surprise Matron of Honors' rap during speeches, he helped with lighting when our tent company's options were falling short, he played some very special/traditional Swiss music for my husband's side of the family, he helped create a custom song for my dad and I to have our father daughter dance to, he played my college fight song, and he stayed with us playing tunes for the final few that were there until the sun was coming up! What's amazing is this isn't even the tip of the iceberg. We had such piece of mind knowing that Adam was helping run the show. Not only is Adam amazing DJ, he amazing person and he truly felt like family during the planning stages, on the big day and now! We were truly honored to have him be a part of our special day. All weddings that I have attended that stand out among the best had amazing DJ service that kept everything on track and kept those bodies moving! We picked DJ Adam for our wedding, and he thrilled us with his organization, his ability to keep us on track during the wedding, the close attention he paid to us during the ceremony, and the party/amazing atmosphere he created for us during the reception/party. He played all the songs we requested, and played them in a perfect order than kept the party moving the whole night. His music equipment, speakers, light system, microphones, etc were all top notch. Adam was my DJ for our wedding at the Seattle Aquarium and he was perfect. He was recommended to me by the venue itself after I mentioned I was having difficulty finding a DJ that was familiar with our venue and was reasonably priced. Working with Adam was so easy - initially we had a video chat skype session to meet him before committing since Seattle was a destination wedding for us, which went great, then had an in person walk through before the wedding to confirm all details. He was always available when I had thoughts changes via text/email and was accommodating. He has no time limit which is nice, he mic'd the ceremony perfectly so all guests could hear using ear mics, chest mics, and stand mics based on the speaker's preference. He mingled with my family so well, and rolled with everything we threw his way including the groom serenading (and he sending the groom the non-lyric version of the song in advance for him to practice!), leading the group to sing happy birthday, and pre-briefing the toasts so they felt comfortable. Adam even brought some cool "uplifting" lights which really made the room pop. Oh, and his great website takes credit card too, which is nice. Adam was the DJ for our wedding reception last weekend, and he did a fabulous job. He was very professional, met with us at our home in order to plan our reception. I will admit that we were not totally prepared for the meeting. He had provided a form to fill out with song choices for specific moments during the reception. We had done our best, but didn't have many of them figured out. He came with his laptop and speakers and helped us fill in all of the gaps. He worked hard during the meeting to get a sense of our musical tastes and wishes for the event. When it came to the night, Adam checked in with us throughout the event without being intrusive at all. He expertly directed the flow of the night without any cheesiness. He DJ'd a fantastic dance party that never lagged, and when we transitioned over to some karaoke at the end of the night, it was seamless. I would definitely recommend Adam.
