They helped us pick the perfect package for our needs and venue layout. On the day of, our MC, Jesson was the PERFECT addition to our wedding. He kept the energy high from the moment he stepped into the property until he left late that evening. He kept all of our guests engaged and the day running smoothly. He also took care of us on a personal level, making sure we had time to eat and stayed hydrated! Our DJ, Micah, was also fantastic. We were a little stressed about picking the right music for our group and he took the reins and did a great job. Erin, the administrator was very helpful in making sure we got the right package for our wedding and helped answer any questions we had. Micah was our DJ for our wedding night and did an amazing job. We hired Sounds Unlimited for our July 2024 wedding and could not be happier with their service! They thought if every detail and were incredibly helpful in the planning process, but most importantly we were WOWED by our DJ, Jameela. Jameela was also easy to work with and friendly, while being professional and organized. We had the most amazing experience with Sounds Unlimited. A couple weeks before the wedding they made sure to call and have a very in depth conversation with me about all the details for the wedding. It made me feel like I was in really good and caring hands. On the wedding day, they went above and beyond in helping make sure the ceremony went well. They did great on the music for the ceremony and they also ensured that everyone walked down the isle at the right times and even made sure my dress looked perfect as I walked down. Then for the reception we had Jameela and she was amazing. She checked in with us before the reception to make sure we were all on the same page and throughout the reception as well. She was a fly on the wall but also very present when needed. We absolutely loved the whole Sounds Unlimited team. Marquis did an excellent job of hyping up our guests, making announcements, and just keeping the flow smooth. This was my second wedding. I used Sounds Unlimited for my first wedding and was very happy with my decision. So when planning my second wedding, it was a no brainer to call them again. Planning a wedding is stressful enough and then Covid hit and changed our plans. We had to move the wedding from 2020 to 2021. When we told Erin, the administrative supervisor, that we had to postpone the wedding, she was great and very accommodating to any changes we had to make. Erin was also quick at responding to any questions we may have had, sometimes late at night. Jordan was our DJ/Emcee. We loved using Sounds Unlimited for our May 2021 wedding! Leading up to the wedding, they were incredible and flexible as our plans changed often during Covid. They worked within our budget and were always willing to hop on a call. For the wedding, we had Mat as our DJ and he was perfect. Frank and Jonathan were instrumental in making our wedding night run smoothly. Frank wasn't just the MC but he was also a photographer for us. We didn't have a photographer and had other people take lots of pictures. Frank was one of the people who took the most pictures, having us do special poses and all. (The pictures turned out amazing!) Jonathan was our DJ and he kept the music going steadily and played all our requests. Any issues with the playlist were brought to our attention way beforehand. We hired Sounds Unlimited to DJ our September 21, 2019 wedding and we could not have been happier with their service. Sounds Unlimited was great from the very beginning. Frank (the manager) and I discussed the whole process and all the details during our initial call. The process to choose music for the wedding, reception, and add our timeline was easy to understand and use. And lastly, our DJ, Aiden...absolutely fantastic! Aiden was amazing at ensuring that our wedding music went exactly where it needed to be. Our cocktail hour and dinner music were exactly on point with the mood and theme we chose for each. He did a great job introducing speeches, even throwing in jokes to transition between them. He continued to check-in with us every hour or so to make sure we were enjoying ourself/the music and that the vibes were to our liking. MC Joey and DJ Finn did an amazing job at our wedding! Joey kept the timeline moving along perfectly and was great to communicate with leading up to the wedding, and Finn had a good read on our guests and played music that they were loving all night. We hired these guys during the Seattle Wedding show in January 2020. They seemed super friendly. Then COVID-19 hit and in April I emailed them asking what happens if we need to cancel them for our wedding in August. They said it was too late to cancel out and get our money back. That should have been my first red flag! Fast forward to end of July when the governor changed the rules for weddings. No receptions at all and only 30 people allowed. Well our wedding had to be changed. We decided on a small ceremony and would no longer be needing a DJ. I called and spoke to them and all they could say was well have your picked another date yet? No we haven't. We want to make sure it won't get cancelled again. The gal was very pushy saying that everyone else had picked a new date and bla bla bla. We decided to wait indefinitely to have a wedding. After her being pushy for us to reschedule she said this had not come up before and she would talk to her manager and give us a call back the next day. Two days went past and no call from them, I ended up calling three days after my initial call only to be told "it's too close to the date of our wedding and we can't get a refund at all, the money has already been spent." I understand they have bills to pay but this is a very unforeseen circumstance that no one ever saw coming. Our only options are to reschedule with them, or gift what we paid for to someone else. This is total to obscured! Weddings cause people an arm and a leg with such a huge up charge. I regret ever booking this company with how they are treating us. We can't be the only ones going through this right now with Sounds Unlimited. What happens if no one can have weddings for a year and they have to shut down?! Then we're out that large amount of money we spent on them. No one knows how long this is going to last. I would not hired them again at all. I would avoid them like the plague. They are not in it for the weddings as far as I'm concerned, they just want your money and they will run with it. With as many DJd they have and how many weddings have been cancelled I can only imagine them laughing all the way to the bank with this stressful time of getting married. read more

Joey was absolutely amazing. He was super flexible the day of. We planned to have an outdoor wedding, but inclement weather required some logistical changes, which then required the utilization of the upstairs and downstairs of the venue. We called up Joey to see if he could work with that, and he just brought an extra speaker cable and laptop so his main setup could stay downstairs for the reception and just brought a speaker and laptop upstairs for the ceremony. Took SOOO much stress off our shoulders. Beyond that, he was super flexible with the timeline where necessary and also did an amazing job keeping essentials on time. Mat and Willem from Sounds Unlimited were our MC and DJ for our wedding reception. They were awesome! Mat did a phenomenal job keeping things on schedule. Excellent service from start to finish! I worked with Dorothy booking the DJ for my August 14th Wedding. She was wonderful and quick to understand my needs. We went with the Classic package and felt it was a perfect and very affordable fit for us. I allocated $2000 for a DJ and only spent around $900 for 6 hours of quality music and announcements. From there, I had full access to their online database and selected many songs that I wanted to hear (and not near) at our wedding. The selection was great, and for the songs they didn't have, I was able to provide them on an MP3 player for my DJ. Once the event drew nearer, I was put in contact with our DJ (Nate) who spent an hour on the phone with me during our first "meeting". He went through our entire event and clarified my preference sheet to properly understand what I was looking for. On the day of the event, Nate was not only prompt, but early. He called me when he arrived to let me know he was onsite and setting up. During the event, things went off without a hitch. Nate was even able to make last minute adjustments when I decided to nix a couple announcements. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Sounds Unlimited and I definitely recommend their services to any and all future couples looking for a wedding DJ! Additionally, the library of songs they offer is very comprehensive and included most if not all of the songs we wished to have played, and they provide very reasonable ways to request a few custom songs if they aren't in the library!! We had MC Shaun and DJ Sky as our wedding DJ & MC. During the process of planning for music, literally 2 months before the wedding we started calling SOUNDS UNLIMITED, a few times a week: sometimes asking about lighting, sometimes renting projector screen, sometimes just asking them to play background effect videos (for dancing) and I ended up doing none of those but they were so patient and answered all of my questions through calls and emails. I never had to leave a voicemail with them. They always pick up the phone. This is the 2nd most reliable and responsive vendors in my vendor list (the first is my photographers). I spent 3 weeks drafting songs to play in my wedding down to the minutes. (I was overproducing lol) and changed it even til the week before the week when I'm not supposed to. The list is required to be submitted a month before and no changes made after that; but they were happy to accommodate my wish. I really appreciate that. I didn't know my MC&DJ til a week before my wedding. I canceled my first conference call with my MC because we were going back and forth between Seattle and Portland and my parents were jetlagged from international flight and traffic and etc. we didn't make it back home in time for the phone call and MC SHAUN was so understanding and reassured us it's ok. And we scheduled a different appointment time. Our conference call took 2 hours =))) when it's usually only 40 min. We didn't let MC SHAUN go til 11pm (our call started at 9pm). Both me and my husband wanted a lot for our wedding, and I was literally specifying what song to be play at what minute. And MC SHAUN was very patient and polite; we told me the DJ will play most of the songs from my list but it's not a concert (to be more exact rave because I pick a lot of EDM songs), it's a wedding so we will play based on how guests are feeling. They will play my songs but not necessarily in the order I want except for my ceremony. Shaun was so polite and he didn't want to hurt my feelings lol. He was sooo nice! 3 days before the wedding, we asked them if they can move their station around because we want them to be at 2 different spots for our ceremony then the rest of the night. And they were happy to do it once for us! I felt like we were very demanding. So I really appreciate their professionalism. Anyhow, on the wedding day, they were around 2pm (ceremony started at 4), very professional, greeted me and my husband and others, reassuring me everything will be taken care of and asking me if I need anything or any changes let them know. And during cocktail, dinner reception, my DJ, Sky was dancing to almost every song, very energetic and passionate about music. Just like me! He even played my Vietnamese and Korean songs I picked (he later told me he didn't know them til I put them in my list, and he pretty liked them. Lol) My ceremony music was so on point. Bridal party entrance music on point, first dance, anniversary dance, general dance omg I think we had a blast! All my friends loved the DJ. One of my cousins who is getting married next year asked us if she can get his info. She wants him to be her wedding DJ but I'm not sure if he is willing to travel all the way to San Jose haha. Anyhow, MC Shaun and DJ Sky as well as Sounds Unlimited Company as a whole have gone above and beyond. Met my expectations and even surpassed it. I love them and was glad to have them be a part of my wedding. For the price and the quality, 2 for 1, I don't think you can find this great combo anywhere else. My husband and I had MC Jamar and DJ Jesus for our wedding at Thornewood Castle this past August. From beginning to end, SoundsUnlimited and Jamar were professional, fun, and cared about every aspect of our wedding day down to the timing and detail. I was thoroughly impressed with the song selection process and how our personal wedding account on their site made planning music and the flow of the day easy. Jamar made sure to go over every single detail of the day and song with me. Jamar is spectacular, as a bride who is admittedly a little bit of a control freak and who picked a wedding venue with a shorter timeframe allowance than most, he kept to our schedule and allowed for flexibility all in a fun and unstressful way. Even when we ran a bit overtime due to lingerthan expected table visits at dinner, he found a way to squeeze in everything we wanted to do! He was a great host, and helped events flow from excusing tables to dinner to speeches, cake cutting to introductions, dances, bouquet toss, garter toss, leading dances you name it! He was always checking in with me without "checking in." Jesus had everyone out on the floor dancing, I mean everybody! **We did not end up using their services. This is a review of the booking process** We were really disappointed with our experiences with Sounds Unlimited. At first, we had a great meeting with Spencer and thought we would book them for sure. Spencer quoted us for the Classic Package plus free upgraded lighting, an extra $50 personal fee to be able to meet our DJ before the wedding day, and 3 additional hours so they could cover the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Upon agreeing to this quoted price, however, Spencer's manager said they could not offer the package we agreed on (both verbally and written via email) and instead quoted us a price that was $500 more than what we originally agreed on because they said we would *need* to have two DJs instead of one as we would be switching venues for the reception (it's literally just a 2 minute walk between venues and we offered to pay an extra hour for set up and have people help move the equipment). We then had a back and forth and explored the option of them just DJ-ing our reception (no venue change), we were again quoted a price for 2 DJs, then when we tried to clarify and book them for ONE DJ, they abruptly told me the day had been booked (don't they have multiple DJs on staff? Were ALL the DJs booked?). If you are working with a tight budget, and hope to book the Classic package, I suggest you don't waste your time here. I'm not even sure the Classic package is a real thing that they offer, because as soon as we decided to limit it to the reception, they told me all their DJs had been booked for our day. In the end, it ended up being a huge waste of our time and energy, and quite frankly we felt like we were being scammed the whole time. Sounds Unlimited was great. We found them at the Seattle Wedding show and got an extra hour of music for free and added on another hour and room lighting as well. They were super easy to work with and had a website we logged into to submit all of our information. On the day of the wedding Darmeny was waiting with cocktails for us as we signed our marriage license. He took the songs we provided and threw in some of his own as well and everyone was dancing the whole night! He was awesome! He definitely kept the party going and fed off the vibe of the room. I should've read the reviews first. My initial contact with Lara was great. Neither my wife nor I were super enthused about the idea of spending $1000+ on a DJ, but became convinced that the pros outweighed the cons and Sounds Unlimited were very accommodating of the fact that we booked them about a month out, which is a tighter timeframe than is typical. We had prepared a playlist of songs we wanted to hear ahead of time, but a large proportion of those songs were not available in the online system (which is exactly as clunky and outdated as some of the other reviews make it out to be), so I began exchanging emails with another employee (not Lara, but I don't want to name her for reasons which will become obvious). She was very cagey about responding to my questions directly, often sending back lightly modified boilerplate responses to my very specific questions. Eventually, I managed to get a straight answer: yes, we could provide our own playlist on a mobile device, and the DJ would play songs from it. One of my groomsmen had an old little netbook we'd used for his wedding playlist a few years prior, so I asked if, instead of a mobile device, I could use that. I had to ask the same simple, direct question a couple of times, but I got an affirmative that we could use that too, with the caveat that sometimes laptop sound cards introduce static into the mix. The day of our wedding, the DJ (who I will also not name) arrived on time, got everything set up, and generally seemed very nice. However, the microphone repeatedly cut out during the ceremony, to the point where nobody in the back could hear our vows (which we chose to write ourselves) or most of the beautiful ceremony our officiant provided. This was disappointing. Then, once the dancing began, our DJ played only a few songs from our playlist, opting for dance standards that were just fine, but not what we'd given him. My taste in music is fairly idiosyncratic, so I understand why some of my choices were cut, but my wife's taste is very poppy and included a number of songs that were specifically chosen because we knew they would be fun to dance to. Overall, this just wasn't the experience we'd been led to expect, and while it didn't ruin our day (or anything close to it, really), everything else surrounding it was basically perfect, so it stood out as being significantly subpar. Their music selection website is clunky and not very user friendly at best but you will muddle through. My wife and I along with our wedding planner had a phone call to make final arrangements with the MC. You won't meet with DJ or MC until day of. We told the MC that our crowd would need a encouragement to get up to mingle and dance. No problem we have tricks to do that replied the MC. Day of the reception. MC arrived early and setup. DJ was late but no issues MC was there and had set up. MC and DJ played the songs we had on our playlist and made a couple of announcements but didn't do damn thing to get people encouraged despite the earlier assurances. Of course the topping on this experience is my major recollections of the DJ was him eating...and eating. That's all I saw him do all night. I found out afterwards that he told a couple of my twenty something guests that he was still high from hempfest. Guess that explains the munchies! I submitted a customer survey and received a very lame reply from management with excuses for the MC and requesting contact information of my guests to gather information to terminate the DJ. Huh? I am not their HR department nor do I want their contact info documented on paperwork. And I don't need to know, or care, about their HR failures at this point. I recently coordinated a wedding where Andrew of Sounds Unlimited was the DJ. Andrew was professional and passionate about his work. He arrived several hours early to make sure everything was set-up correctly, and checked in with me throughout the night to make sure he was on track. I initially booked with Sounds Unlimited because with my original wedding venue, I received a discount for using them as a vendor. When I met with Amanda, she was very nice. It was a great meeting, she explained how their company worked, I got to see equipment and lighting to help decide which package would work best for us. I had a few questions along the way and the staff worked with me to get my questions answered and even make some changes with no issues. While this company has won numerous awards, there was some stress involved. You do not meet your DJ until the day of. Period. I was told (after booking) that this was the case; however he would call me no less than 10 days before the wedding to go over everything. After a few calls after day 10 and 8 came, 6 days before the wedding the DJ got back to me. While it wasn't as soon as I would have liked (stress levels were a bit high the week of the wedding!) Eric took the time to go over every detail. I explained what I wanted, what I didn't want and we outlined every detail in between. He was patient and very friendly. I felt at ease after we chatted. On the day of the wedding, Eric was there and everything was executed as we had discussed. Something worth noting, the DJ showed up with 2 other DJ's who were apparently in training. I was never notified of this; this was brought to my attention after the fact, when they thought they needed vendor meals that I was to pay for. As I said, this was not discussed beforehand and I was blindsided. Overall, communication could be improved with this company, however I received the style of DJ/MC that I had requested and a great time was had by all. read more

We went with A Sounds Unlimited for our July 21st wedding after seeing them at the Seattle Wedding Expo. I was extremely satisfied with the service we received. The contract was very clear and the website provided to use to plan was easy to use. The DJ and MC called us about 3 or 4 days before the wedding and helped us build out the day of schedule and finalize song choices. We didn't know what songs we wanted for many things like the cake cutting so they did a great job of making suggestions and working with our song choices. Our MC and DJ both did an amazing job the day of the wedding. I could not have asked for better. Everything flowed from start to finish and the MC even surprised us by making sure there was a glass of our favorite beverages waiting for us in the room where we signed our wedding certificate. I am sooooo happy with how everything turned out and would highly recommend them for a wedding or corporate event. read more
