My husband and I are now approaching our 2-Year wedding anniversary, and I was thinking fondly on our day and realized we hadn't recognized some of the people who made our day so amazing. (Sorry Adam!) Adam met my husband and I at a pub for our initial consult to see if we might be a good fit. I can tend to be all business, but we wound up chatting with Adam and drinking some delicious IPAs for nearly 3 hours, and as my husband and I walked out the door he said, "I know you're going to hire him, why don't you just do that now?!" Adam met with us again a week or two before the wedding to go over the day of details, make recommendations, and continue to get a better feel for who we were as a couple. On the day of, Adam was fantastic and had worked with many of our vendors before (and even ended up knowing two of our guests!) so it made for a very smooth event. Adam is more than a DJ, I think he is now our friend! We found Adam's name on a referral list in the brochure of the venue where we got married (Lake Quinault Lodge on the Olympic Peninsula). We are so glad we did! From the start, Adam was on top of things, providing us a multitude of options and just generally feeling out what it was we were looking for. We had ideas, and he helped shaped them, giving advice, and even providing us ceremonial services on top of the reception. We had a couple hours-long planning session about a month out, and he not only went through our playlist and wedding party names for pronunciation, but he also asked us great questions, like what music do our parents like, who are some of our favorite bands not on the playlist, etc., which he helped craft into an unforgettable experience by mixing in songs throughout the day's events, making some truly great remixes and stylistic flourishes that kept people on the dance floor all night long, and so much more. He even worked with us on cutting out the audio in Don't Stop Believin' like they did in the finale of the Sopranos! It was just a pleasure to have a guy like Adam for our event, who takes his work very seriously but does it in such a fun and easy manner. Adam was the DJ for my recent prom-themed birthday party and we couldn't have been happier for choosing him over the several other DJ options that were referred to us! We had a very small micro wedding, total of 13 people. At first we weren't sure if we needed a DJ since the wedding was so small, however, having Adam there was the absolute best decision we could have made. My original post to your business was not to put your business down, but offer you honest feedback. I said, you did not work out for our wedding and the only recommendations were you needed more flexibility and have the ability to play songs guests request on the dance floor. Your response, however, probably has done more damage to you than my original post. It really highlights the lack of control you have over your temper and yourself. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, we actually wanted to fire you, but due to our contract we proceeded. I think you fail to understand that no matter how "perfect" you think you and your business are... You will never get it right 100% of the time and you will never be the perfect fit 100% of the time. The key is to be "professional" and courteous and find ways to be "better". I would "stoop" to your level, but it's a bit too low for me. Instead, I will offer you some additional feedback to improve your business. 1. Have a system where guests can pick their favorite songs on the spot. Several people informed me that they have been to weddings and the DJ has this ability. No matter how much you plan, you'll never get ALL the songs that your guests would like. So, get yourself a wifi... hop onto Youtube, it's 2016, you should easily be able to do this. 2. You are not a wedding coordinator OR at least I didn't hire you to be one. Your job is to play the music, control the games, and put up some lighting. Games and lighting you get 5/5. We paid you for these basic services. By the way... I think you are overpriced. Your services aren't worth more than $600-$800 tops. 3. Pay attention... to the program... that was given to you... and Do not forget to announce the matron of honor and best man (they are kinda important people in a wedding). 4. Watch your temper... this might be harder for you. I actually have you on video throwing your mic and having a tantrum, because things aren't going YOUR way. It's not your wedding and anyone who spends 5 minutes with you can tell you think you're some type of wedding expert. Again, you're not a wedding coordinator. Play the music and do what you are paid for. 5. Learn how to respond to YELP reviews. You just might make things worst for yourself. P.S. Adam is AMAZING. I researched pretty much every DJ in Seattle when we began planning for our wedding and he stood out early on. He was the first one to return my call, and really seemed to want to work with me to understand what I wanted, try to fit my budget, etc. He was super friendly, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. We hired him after a skype interview since we were out of town planners and he stayed in touch for the whole planning process, and later met with us for a multiple hour meeting in Seattle (came over to the house!) a few months before the wedding where we went over our timeline thoroughly. He was able to suggest the perfect songs to fill in any gaps where we couldn't pick a song, he put together an amazing slideshow for us that he took the trouble to even re-do when we decided to change pictures around, and then he shocked us on the day-of with some amazing uplighting for the reception that we absolutely LOVED. I had multiple picky requests for different announcements, timing of ceremony music, etc. etc. and they were all executed perfectly. He checked in with me every time we had to decide if we wanted to go off schedule during the evening. Everyone who attended the wedding said it was the most fun they've ever had at a wedding and we know Adam was a huge part of that. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a big party - a total blast. We are SO grateful for him and his help - it truly felt like he was a part of our team and wanted everything to go well as much as we did and that made all the difference. He knows a bunch of other vendors in the industry in Seattle and is well-liked, too; our coordinator had worked with him before and loved him so that was an added perk. When I first started looking at DJs for our Seattle wedding, I trawled Yelp and WeddingWire and a number of other sites, and came up with six or eight strong possibilites. But after reading reviews and recommendations I narrowed it down to three. We live in the Los Angeles area, so it was going to be challenging to meet up with DJs to see who we meshed with best. But my immediate gut feeling from the info I'd read was to go with Adam's DJ Service, so I dropped them a line first. I didn't hear back right away, and I figured this was probably because - hey, we were putting together a wedding in about six weeks, they were probably all booked up. I started exploring a few other DJs, but wasn't really feeling it. So a few days later I lobbed Adam's an email a second way just to see if my first reach-out had landed in a spam bucket or something. Adam replied back nearly immediately, and I let out the breath I had been unknowingly holding in. Adam connected me up with DJ Joel for a chat, and when we talked on the phone the next day I knew within a few minutes that we were in great hands. One of the things that I really appreciated about Adam's DJ Service that I didn't expect is that they shot me over a list of all the songs I'd need to choose for the wedding (for example, walk-in music, grand entrance music, first dance, etc) and also sent over a list of the most popular songs that had been chosen for each of these at previous weddings the past few years. These lists helped me get organized, and were an incredibly handy reference to choose from - random Google searches were only getting me so far. On the day of the event, Joel played the songs we wanted, had songs at the ready that I didn't expect him to have, and worked hard to get people out on the dance floor. But I have to admit, what I appreciated even more than how good he was as a DJ turned out to be how good he was at making sure our wedding was working - Joel knew where the typical gaps and lulls were and filled them, he made announcements at the right time to keep things moving along, worked with the venue staff to make sure things ran smoothly, and generally went above and beyond in all sorts of little ways that I didn't expect and always appreciated. I cannot recommend Adam's DJ Service. It is unfortunate as I had high hopes after reading reviews on Yelp. We met with Adam and sent in our deposit over 6 months before the wedding. Our deposit got cashed out which based on the contract should be the confirmation for booking. We booked to have Adam be our DJ and also wrote his name on the contract when we sent it in. Within a few days of the deposit being cashed, I got a call from Adam apologizing that another check came in to deposit for his service to be their DJ on the same day as our wedding. What I'm confused here is why our deposit check got cashed in the first place if we weren't going to get him as our DJ and someone should be doublechecking on booking versus check cashed. Adam was apologetic and asked if we would like to select from his other DJs. We figured to give it another shot. We chose DJ Kryspin. We thus had to meet up with DJ Kryspin which added more to our wedding planning plate--this was roughly 6-7months prior to wedding and we confirmed with Adam we would like to go with DJ Kryspin. However, LESS THAN 3 MONTHS BEFORE OUR WEDDING, DJ KRYSPIN HAD TO ASKED IF WE CAN GO WITH DJ SEAN--OUR 2ND DJ WITH ADAM'S DJ SERVICE WHO ASKED US TO GO WITH ANOTHER DJ ON THEIR TEAM. We were asked if we would be comfortable with DJ Sean as DJ Kryspin was invited to perform at the Gorge the same day as our wedding. DJ Kryspin was apologetic about it, but it is really hard to have a once in a lifetime event like your wedding--being pushed around! Also, less than 3 months to find another qualified DJ and uplighting!! It seems like were were being tossed around and was uncomfortable as who knows who will show up the day of our wedding and how that would turn out. Fortunately, Adam was okay with returning to us our deposit. However, I cannot recommend this company as customer service and reliability was not what we experienced. read more

Adam was fantastic! Before the wedding day, Adam took the time to sit down with me and my hubby and really get to know us and our music taste. It was a good 2 hour meeting where we went over in great detail how we wanted the evening to flow. When it came to the actual day of the wedding, he kept the flow of the evening going very nicely. Adam's DJ Service lives up to the Yelp reviews! My (now) husband and I were originally thinking about not getting a DJ but we decided a month before the wedding that it was something we didn't want to worry about. Our basic requirements were: 1) Under $1000, 2) Reliable DJ that will not run our event longer than our scheduled time, 3) Plays good music. We read Yelp reviews and felt that Adam's DJ Service would live to our standards. We scheduled our first meeting with Adam, but he was already booked for the date. However, he was able to schedule us to meet with DJ Joel, who works with Adam. When we met, Joel brought a large packet of information that included the contract details (which is very important, brides!!), a variety of popular song selections, and a wedding timeline for you to fill out. The packet was incredibly helpful especially since music may be the last thing you want to worry about at your wedding. A week before the wedding, Joel went over all the details and even gave us suggestions on areas we didn't think about. Joel was very flexible with our requests on the day of the wedding and kept things on schedule. My maid-of-honor even had a request for a song selection in her toast (we didn't know until the day-of) and Joel was able to play the song on the spot! Gig Harbor High School class reunion committee hired Adams DJ Service. We weren't sure if we wanted dancing - but we thought let's give it a try. A few people on our committee had seen Adam's DJ Service before and thought that they would be perfect for our event. There was the perfect background music playing as everyone arrived. One of the best decisions we made concerning our wedding was hiring Adam Tiegs to be our DJ and Emcee for big day. I say Emcee because he wasn't just a DJ he controlled the flow of the entire night, from narrating, to making sure we kept on schedule, to going with the flow he did it all. I know so many people who have gone with really inexpensive DJ's and have haven't had as good of a experience. My advice to you splurge on the DJ and photographers! My wife and I attended a wedding that was DJ'd by Adam a year before we tied the knot. We were immediately sold on his style and professionalism at our friend's wedding and proceeded to setup an informal meeting. Adam was very accommodating during the planning phase of our wedding. He met with us twice in-person before the event, which was very helpful. Our initial meeting was used to get to know each other and determine if we were a good fit. The second meeting was scheduled about a month in advance of the wedding to determine the genre and style of the event. Adam asked many questions about our music interests and did a great job incorporating our personal preferences of music into the event. He also helped steer us in the right direction when choosing formal dance songs and made sure to take note of the father of the bride's obsession with KISS. We were very impressed with Adam's attention to detail at the wedding. One thing that stood out to us was his willingness to go the extra mile...literally. He showed up to our rehearsal to scope out the venue and to meet the wedding party. The day of the wedding Adam was the first vendor on site. Adam partnered with the site manager, officiant, and caterer throughout the event to ensure we had a flawless wedding. Adam's skills as a DJ are top notch! In an industry were most DJ's create a cheesy cookie-cutter reception, Adam created an atmosphere that was unique our wedding. The way he was able to coordinate the communication between caterers, photographers, planners and guests was extremely smooth and professional, the entire night went perfectly because of Adam. Adam is simply the BEST! He is so fun and outgoing, and he does everything he can to make sure you are happy. My husband and I met with Adam more than 18 months before our wedding. He also made a special edit of our introduction song and sent it to me for approval before the wedding. He also suggested playing the shoe game (which ended up being a HUGE hit with our guests!). Adam also went above and beyond by coming to our rehearsal when he heard that my Aunt was our Officiant and it was her first time officiating a wedding. He wanted her to feel comfortable and by doing so, he made our wedding ceremony go so smoothly! On the day of, Adam was there early and set up his gear quickly and professionally. Between all of the up lighting and the lighting around his gear, the venue never looked so beautiful! Adam worked with our Day-Of-Coordinator to ensure the wedding went very smoothly. Adam's DJ Service came highly recommended by multiple vendors we worked with, so knowing we had a large wedding party and guest list it was no brainer to hire a professional to MC and help the days events flow. We spent hours one evening going over song selection and timeline and it wasn't until midnight that Adam realized the time had flown. His attention to detail shows that he loves what he does. And we appreciate his committement to us and did not feel rushed. At our wedding we choose the Fairy Tale package, that allowed for 2-3 different DJ set ups. Our venue was all inclusive with different areas on the property for the ceremony, cocktail and reception which made it easy for our guests to flow without the extra commute or traffic jam. Adam personally worked our wedding which was fun because he brought with it his personality. Our guests loved the reception and the shoe game was the highlight of our event. I would have given 5 stars, however Adam and staff flubbed the most important song of the day- my ceremony walk in song. Although we had spent hours during the pre-planning night, I learned moments before the wedding was to begin that they did not download or program the song. With less than a minute to start we had no back up option. I WOULD HIGHLY reccomend that the bride and groom bring their important songs to the venue as these things strangely happen. As a result, my song was played off of YouTube which buffered, in the end I walked down to no music but the nature of outdoors. In addition, while the reception was a hit with the fun games and traditional items, it felt a bit rushed. I would encourage Adam to take more time with the transitions, having done games, cultural dances, and traditional dances, it left us out of breath and with little time to enjoy our own reception. I would recommend Adam's DJ to anybody looking for a wedding DJ-- Adam is a very experienced professional who knew all the right questions to ask, and put us at ease well before the date of the wedding with a long meeting in which he explained the whole process to us and listened attentively to our concerns and ideas. Adam was the DJ for our wedding last summer in Seattle. If you don't have time to read further, then bottom line, Adam blew away our expectations and I would strongly recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ (wedding, party, etc...). Adam was professional and fully prepared for our wedding. He provided audio for the ceremony, our outdoor cocktail hour, and the dance floor which was indoors. Rather than have us talk to a screener, we were immediately setup to speak directly with the potential DJ that would be servicing our event. I can't say enough good things about working with Adam's DJ and specifically with Krispin. Thumbs Up: - Professional meetings and expert advice: Krispin met with us twice carrying a briefcase, his laptop, and the necessary paperwork. He was able to answer all of our questions and put us at ease. We never stressed about wedding music. - Tasteful music selection: Krispin found the perfect version of our wedding processional song for us, even only after giving him a few days notice. He set up all the equipment and the great music never skipped a beat. We got a lot of compliments after the wedding on how awesome the music was, especially when he mixed during our reception. - Timely Announcements: Krispin made all the right announcements and worked well with the other vendors to coordinate the perfect wedding. Though our wedding was about 30 minutes off schedule, the guests never knew it. - Great prices: We were able to get full coverage for our wedding plus a lot of extras, like lighting and two sets of speakers.
