First time at Adam's Rib Co, after a yr of driving past. This S Carolina lady is picky when it comes to her BBQ pork. There pulled pork was done right. Had the sandwich but choose not to eat the garlic bread used as the buns. Too much bread. Their red sauce isn't bad & I prefer my homemade red or mustard sauce. My kids had catfish nuggets & quarter chicken. Send chicken back, oozed too much pink. Owner/cook, replaced w pork, apologized & said it was to temp (I'd rather not risk it). Staff were sweet & helpful. Last thing, cinnamon just does NOT belong on banana pudding. I'd go back, probably bring my mustard sauce or get it to go. read more

Today is the last time I will order from Adam's. The order is always slightly off but today it was awful. Ordered a cheeseburger for pick up. Got back to work and looked at it and there was no cheese. Took a bite out of it and it was raw. Frozen pattie that was raw in the middle. Almost burned on the outside. Terrible. read more

Went here for the first time tonight. This place is soooo good! When we got there they had just run out of ribs, which was disapointing, but after eating our second choice - pork and brisket we were totally satisfied. The sides and all of the many sauces they have for the meats were awesome. As we were walking out the guys working there gave us a complimentary to-go order of ribs as they just finished cooking a fresh batch. We just got home and WOW, those are some of the best ribs I've ever had! I'm not sure if there's a place in town that can top this one. read more

Favorite BBQ place here in Gainesville. Ribs and chicken are usually good - though if you're unlucky, sometimes they may be dry. The thing that shines though are their sauces and their SIDES. They are always so hot and delicious. Definitely recommended. read more

My family and I ate at Adam Rib after debating if we should go to Adam's or Sonny's......well I think we made the right choice (because we haven't tried Sonny's yet) we are new to Fl and this was one of the best BBQ ribs we have ever eaten. Consistent quality & service. I have eaten here over the last 4 years due to its proximity to my place of employment. Adam is often on site; he's friendly. Breakfast is available at 7:00; it's excellent for the price. There is a 2-hr lunch window that sees a packed dining room; blue collar guys frequent Adam's. There's a daily lunch special. To save time, you can call in your order; it is usually ready in 10 min. The ribs, chicken & pork are very good; there are many different sauces available. The collards are excellent. Toss in some delicious cornbread, a slice of Hawaiian Carrot Cake, & a jumbo drink...sodas or iced tea. Sports play on the overhead TVs, & the facility is clean. read more

Your normal BBQ place at normal prices. the service is really fast too. Their pulled pork sandwich is really great and there's usually a coupon for it in local coupon books. Its even better on garlic toast instead of the sesame bun. I tried their ribs, fries and cole slaw as well. The ribs weren't everything I was expecting. The meat didn't come right off the bone and at times seemed dry. They also have a apple-based bbq sauce. Its unique but could use more smokiness. Their fries were cooked perfectly and are probably the best crinkle-cut fries I've ever had. Seasoned salt is a nice touch but some were seasoned more than the others. Finally, the cole slaw was very standard. It definitely reminded me of Sonny's BBQ's, which is a really great thing too. Go to Adam's for everything but the ribs! read more

Adam's has opened their SW 13th St location. This is even better then the original location on NW 13th. The SW location is bigger and nicer. The food is just as great as the original location. This place has plenty of room for standing and sitting. There are a lot more tables and room at the counter. The ribs are still fall off the bone delicious. Prices are definitely affordable. ~$10 for a 3 rib dinner with two sides and garlic bread and a large drink. If you love BBQ, this is definitely place to check out if you're in the Gainesville area. read more

I'm not usually a big fan of BBQ, but Adam's Rib (while also sporting a clever name for themselves) was delicious! When picking up my dry-cleaning at Rip's, the owner could not say enough good things about this place. He was so adamant, I decided to see for myself. The folks that work here did everything possible to make us comfortable - they were so nice, I'd come back just for them. I think this place used to be a Dunkin' Donuts. The atmosphere isn't so great, but they do a good take-out business, and besides - you are there for the food! Tender, fall-from-the-bone chicken, authentic collard greens, yummy green beans and mac 'n cheese so cheesy, it'll string from your bowl to your fork. Original blends of BBQ and hot sauces on the counter. Treat yourself to their homemade banana pudding for a happy ending, BBQ-style. I can't wait to try their breakfast specials. read more

We really enjoyed this place. Waiters are very friendly and attentive. Pork sandwich plate was excellent. I had it with the green beans and fries. I love the way the green beans were prepared. Husband had 4 rib platter, I asked how it was. He gave it a thumbs up. Our little dog enjoyed the leftovers...we will be back next time we are in Gainesville. read more

Gainesville people think Sonny's is great BBQ so the the 4/5 star reviews here are no surprise. The food here is OK to pretty good but not consistent. The first trip the ribs were huge and falling-off-the-bone tender, but the fattiest ribs I have ever seen. The second trip they were (also very fatty) tough and chewy, like Sonny's ribs. When the server came by and asked how it was going, I pointed to the ribs which had hardly been touched. No comment. When I went to pay she asked me how everything was. I said, "The sweet tea was excellent, but my teeth are not good enough to eat your tough ribs." Response, "Well, yall come back to see us now, yhear." Pulled pork was good, the only other thing I've had. Probably a 2.5 star place, but gave it 3. Why is there no good BBQ in Gville? Adam's Rib is not the best, check out Terrel's BBQ stand on Waldo Road, which is the best I've had but probably 3 to 3.5-star place. read more

Adam's Rib Co. catered my graduation party. It was a small gathering and I got food for 20. There was plenty of food and now I have leftovers to feed me and my husband when we are packing. Adam's was very responsive on emails and easy to work with. My sister picked up the food and she had no issues. I would 100% recommend them and will miss living in Gainesville where their great BBQ exists! read more

These guys have some good BBQ. After working well past lunch time, I was running out of fuel, and I knew BBQ would be the perfect remedy. So, we headed on ever to Adam's. The Ribs were great and all the fixin's were great as well. My only beef was with the Cornbread, which tasted like a box mix, other than that, the food was great! read more

The food here is always good. But, this last visit, we had an issue with servers coming around again and again and again, trying to clear our plates, offer us to-go containers, and rushing our payment, while we were just TRYING TO EAT OUR DINNER. It was really annoying. The place wasn't full. There were tables open. Maybe they thought they were being helpful, but they weren't. Take it easy guys... What a surprise. Not being from around the area, I followed my friend into this tiny restaurant. I can't see there being enough room for a decently equipped kitchen so I'm trying to figure out where all the food is being prepared. Nonetheless, I was extremely impressed by the food here. The prices are dirt cheap, the service is as good as can get (seeing as the staff is mostly college kids), and the food is quite good. I was able to try some spare ribs, the pulled pork sandwich, the mac n cheese, and the cornbread. The meat itself is good but could use some work. It's juicy enough and very well prepared, but I do wish it were more heavily seasoned. I found myself thinking that the pulled pork needed more salt. But this is where their wonderful sauces come in. They are pretty close to perfection when it comes to my tastes and they hide the underachievements of the meat. The sides were hit or miss. I was not fond of the mac n cheese but the extremely buttery cornbread blew my mind. It was wonderful. If I came to college here, I'd find myself at this restaurant every couple of weeks. Although I have had better, I can definitely say that this place is putting out some legitimate 'cue. read more

This place is great! I have had David's BBQ and Terrells. Terrells is good, but I have to say I prefer Adam's BBQ for Gainesville BBQ. Their sauce is amazing! It has a sweet tanginess that makes you want to lick the bowl. The BBQ has a great smokey flavor. I love the beef brisket which is always tender and smokey. The ribs are huge and very tender. The grouper sandwich is amazing! I haven't ordered anything from Adam's that has been bad. It is a great place to eat! read more

My boyfriend and I decided to go here during Restaurant Week. Adam's Rib was offering some pretty good deals, but I'm not sure how they compare to their normal prices. I had eaten some food from here when my co-worker brought some back for us for a meeting, but this was my first time at the restaurant. It was good enough to make me want to stop in. My boyfriend ended up getting the half chicken with 2 sides, and I got the 4 ribs with 2 sides. Since we both ordered entrees, we got a free large appetizer--the jalapeno cheddar bites. We were both impressed by how much food we got for the price. Even the regular price for the large appetizer was very reasonable considering we couldn't even finish the bites! The 4 ribs were also really meaty, and the meat was tender and juicy. I like that there are several different BBQ sauces out on the counter, but the ribs actually tasted pretty good without sauce. Mac and Cheese was pretty standard, but peppery, and the baked beans were good. Their breakfast menu looks interesting, so we're planning to try that next. read more

Wow! Just go and enjoy some of the most delicious BBQ in the world. All of the food was absolutely incredible. The meat was tender and juicy, and the sides were all perfect! And they had a selection of home made BBQ Sauces for every taste. Our server was the owner's wife, and she was so sweet and helpful. And the owner himself came away from his cooking to check in and see how we enjoyed the meal... and we couldn't tell him how great it was because it's rude to talk with your mouth full! Cheap BBQ and everything that comes with it. Small place w/ picnic tables, plastic forks and large portions. I ate the green beans (awesome), collared greens (good), potato salad (amazing), cole slaw (really delicious), and the turkey and chopped chicken (both of which were dry, but there were lots of sauces to make moist meat). The Swamp Juice (tangy) and Kat Daddy (Carolina mustard family) sauces were the best of the many many options. I'd go back. I grew up in the south and every now and again I have an ache for a good pulled pork sandwich. I know what I'm looking for when I'm on the road too. Need to have smoke billowing out of it and usually looks dumpy. The best ones are a big black man with a grill on the road. Adam's rib co is not quite that but they had a pulled pork sandwich special for $5.99. The sandwich was freshly pulled, nice charring on the meat, on grilled and buttered garlic toast. The restaurant has a large variety of squeeze bottle sauces. I immediately reached for the Carolina mustard bbq vinegar. We called this Carolina Pig Sauce in North Florida. For those who don't know this is meant for pulled pork. Was not at all disappointed. The cole slaw was good and the amount of meat perfect. If you have only been to something like Sonny's, you have to give this a shot. Way better. read more

I'm not quite sure why Adam's gets such rave reviews. I went here for the first time about 4 years ago and thought the food was extremely mediocre then. I went here again a couple weeks ago to give it another try, and I definitely won't be back. I went there one day when I was so hungry that anything would have tasted good (or so I thought). I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and a side of corn. I tried eating the sandwich, but it was SO fatty that I eventually gave up and picked the meat off with my fork. Even the meat was just okay, nothing to write home about. The corn tasted like they had just defrosted a bag of corn kernels. Very bland, no taste at all. Like I said, I'm not sure why this place gets the title of best barbecue in town. I've lived here for 6 years and I've tried probably every other barbecue joint in Gainesville. Both times that I've eaten here, Adams has proven to me that this is the worst barbecue in town. That being said, my server was really nice! So at least there's that? read more

Personally, I like the "mom n pop's" countryside vibe. Good service, all 3 waitresses tended to us quite frequently, and our food came out rather quickly. I had the ribs with mac n cheese and beans and D had the brisket with coleslaw and fries. All of the food was great. Tisk tisk to the Styrofoam cups and plastic silverware. Since I'm not a big southern food fan, I probably won't come back often, but I'd recommend it! read more
