They always have daily specials that compliment there already low prices and the best part of all is their food. I've been to a bunch of bbq places around gainesville, Sonnys and Kays are both great places but nothing compared to the taste of Adams. I always get the pulled pork, usually all you can eat for $12 always with a side of green beans and collard greens. Adam owns a BBQ joint but, never learn how to BBQ. I had 2 ribs and a pork sandwich. Both came with sweet sauce. I liked it although, it tasted like jelly. The meat was cooked too long at too high of a temperature. The outside was burnt so the inside wasn't juicy or tender enough. To be fair though I am highly particular about BBQ. read more

The restaurant is very small. I had the pulled pork special. Sandwich was great and the mac and cheese with very good. My wife also had a pulled pork sandwich but she's very picky eater and it had way too much fat for her. Stopped by for a quick lunch bite. Kind of sad looking outside, but the joint hops! (especially the takeouts) We had "Adam's Big Deal" (sampler was advertised on the board outside for $9.99) and the "Beef Brisket Sandwich Plate" = $8.99. The sampler was better. The sides and the sauce were the best part of my brisket sandwich lunch here. The bread, nothing special. The brisket, three small chunks of mostly fat with a decent flavor. Glad the sauce was good because i needed it to eat this sandwich. The service was horrible, i almost left before ordering. BBQ here is pretty mediocre. The service is usually attentive though. They have coupons that come in all the monthly and quarterly magazines for buy 1 get 1 free bbq pork sandwiches and money off of big take out orders and stuff. The food isn't bad or anything it's just not that good. I'd much rather go to Chunky Ts bbq for anything i needed. I got a pulled pork plate with collard greens and mac n cheese. It was pretty much delicious and a satisfying portion. The garlic toast was pretty good, kinda wish it was more toasty. Theres a wide variety of sauces for every liking. I'd recommend giving this place a shot. read more

I ordered the beef brisket sandwich plate. It was devine. The meat was tender and flavorful and they gave me just the right amount. It came in two slices of perfect garlic bread with just a touch if Classic BBQ sauce. For the sides I chose the sweet potato fries and the baked beans. The fries were very good, I opted out of the sugar on top. I did not dig the baked beans. They were a little odd, I can't place the flavor, but they were unusual. I guess I'm just a traditionalist when it comes to my beans. I will definitely revisit this amazing little hole in the wall. read more

Mediocre ribs at really expensive prices. For a place with "rib" in the title, you would expect much better quality (especially for what they are charging!). I write this after giving their ribs a third chance over the past year so I feel confident that the problems are in their preparation rather than an isolated incident. Service was fast and polite enough, and their breakfast is pretty decent. Lots of good bbq sauces, and their sandwich pork is always good. Their tagline is "Puttin (sic) the Ribs back in BBQ", but they need to seriously take the ribs out of their lineup for a through re-examine. read more

It looks like a run of the mill rib place, but it's more. It's the best ribs within 50 miles, that's what it is. The best BBQ in Gainesville, and one of the few places with great slaw. We have patronized Adam's Rib Co. on at least 3 separate occasions and found the food to be mediocre and the service not only unkind but rude. When I attempted to express my feelings to the owner about a rude server he responded with, "Why don't you tell me how to run my business?!" My wife and I were both raised in the South and we live and work here in Gainesville. We are proud to be Southerners who hold virtues like: respect, consideration and kindness in high esteem. I've had the pork at this establishment a few times and it is NASTY. It's is so fatty, like HUGE fat chunks. Maybe some people enjoy that but the texture of mucous going down the back of my throat really gets my gag reflexes going. In addition to that there were CHUNKS of CARTILAGE left in the pork! Like here I am trying to forget about the fat and I chomp down on a weird hard bone!! Super appetizing. The sides are mediocre at best. The only redeeming quality is their delicious tea and the plethora of sauces you can use to cover up the disturbing texture of the food you're consuming.
