Called the parts department to look up a part number for a part I'm trying to replace on my vehicle. Jason in the parts department refused to tell me any part number because I was not ordering a part through them and was doing the repairs on my own. I have never heard of the dealership to refuse any information like that before. I'm new to Missouri and I will not be going to this dealership. I was looking for a car and wanted to have hybrid. So I called them if they have any available hybrid car. A guy who answered the phone told me that they have only one hybrid in stock and it was prius. The price was something like 29500$ but they told me that a car come with a package that includes external and internal warranty stuff. It is not optional and it will cost me around 4000$ I understand that they want to attach some BS warranty to just to make money. I politely declined and wish them have a good day but this will not place where I buy a car. I understand we are in some what a car crisis but don't try to fool your customer. Don't tell that your upper management made mandatory package for every car. Especially with price almost 15% of the cost. This is not how you build a long term relationship with customer. I suspect this crisis will cleanup this type of businesses at the end. Stay away from them if you care about hard earning money. read more

After 3 weeks of being given the run around from Brandon I have to call myself everyday to see if my 2018 Camry is ready that I purchased from this dealership. Then I come in and Brandon is off and didn't explain to anyone my insurance issue to anyone as there was additional work that needed to be done after first estimate. We're in the market for a new car. It's 2019 and car salesmen are still bullshit artists? We went to 3 dealerships today and the winner of worst dealership of the day is ADAMS TOYOTA of LS. -One working laptop between all salesmen? -Couldn't find our van's correct VIN number...with the van right there in front of them. -immediately low balled us on the trade in value because they "were just going off KBB" since they couldn't find our VIN and then admitted KBB was actually 2,000-2.5k more than what they offered -Asked for our insurance card and DL before they would quote us a price on the vehicle we were interested in. (We were not test driving) -when the store manager heard our sales guy say "there's wiggle room" he literally came over and wiggled his hips and said "we like to wiggle!" -And in true cheesy form the manager asked "where's the keys to my new van? Someone give me those keys!" as if the sale was finalized before we discussed numbers. But most importantly was when I expressed my disdain for their handling of numbers the salesman (I know his name but choose not to share) pushed his self away from the table in obvious anger. In 30 years I've never experienced such levels of deceitfulness from a dealership. I registered for "price drop" alerts on a 2017 pr-owned SUV and within days they email me a "price drop" of almost $2,000 and for some odd reason the new price was never reflected on their website. When I asked a sales rep (Alberto P.) his response was the price online hasn't changed because it's already on sale, and "ma'm I don't like your tone of voice or question, you'll have to work with someone else." I thought ..WHAT!? then what's the point of price alerts. They are just playing games and being deceitful. Prior to speaking to this rep, he and another sales rep were arguing over me on who gets the online sales lead -- extremely unprofessional! The other rep lied to me by telling me the SUV was not ready for show (even though all the photos had been on their website for over a week) yet on the day I wanted to stop by because it was his day off and it just wasn't convenient for him. I then asked him if there any one else who can help me? his response was no. Then I asked, what if I make the trip today, will it ready ... he then responded "I'll make sure it it" -- unbelievable! Online, they prompt you to enter your trade-in-information and find out what your vehicle is worth .... after filling it out they emailed me a trade-in price certificate for my SUV; however, when I spoke to the sales rep he says "oh, our online trade in certificates are not valid, we'll have to see your vehicle and we'll give you a true trade-in-value within 5 minutes ... this is without driving or inspecting the vehicle -- unethical and it's obvious they want to give you the least amount on your trade in! Long story shore ... it's been 2-weeks and the price is still the original "sale price", which means there was really no "price drop" -- it the classic bait and hook strategy/practice! There is no way I would consider doing business with this dealership ... my advice to any consumer is BEWARE! read more

I was running late and they were about to close, not to mention I was not registered with that location (or whatever that sign in process they do at locations are), yet, but made time to get my oil changed and run the diagnostic check and/or inspection (whichever one or ones give them the info on what needs attention). The Toyota automatic suspension analysis they all have for just driving in through the garage also helped me cancel the appointment at the other Toyota I was going to at 8 the next morning, which I really didn't want to do. 1. Had an accident and took it to Adams Toyota - Collision Center 2. Didn't have rental insurance on my car. I was fine with original wait to fix issues from accident. That should have taken max of 4-5 weeks. 3. Catalytic converter was stolen while in Adams Toyota's care and they refused to take responsibility and used high-pressure tactics to have me report it against my insurance as their insurance doesn't cover this kind of thing. The only positive is that they agreed to cover my $250 deductible...but that's not saying much considering it was their fault because they didn't secure my vehicle while in their care. 4. They had an additional 1 week delay in returning my vehicle to me because of the stolen catalytic converter and told me it was against their policy to provide a free rental...even though the original damage from the accident was "repaired." Thankfully they caved and I had a free rental for about 1 week. 5. When I did get my car back; it was not fixed and had multiple issues: +Cracked windshield (wasn't cracked from the accident) +Broken radio antenna base/housing (wasn't broken when taken to the shop) +Steering (when turning left) was still loose / not where it should be. +Large hole in the fender well of the driver's side front that should have been replaced but wasn't +scratch on driver's side bumper +Service Engine light stays on. This could be due to the aftermarket catalytic converter or could be something else. They didn't run codes on it and haven't checked...and frankly, I'm tired of this nightmare. 6. No new free rental was offered. They tried to say that they didn't do the damage...like it was already there. I have had to wait another 1.5 weeks for them to fix what should have been fixed. And no recourse to go to a different shop since I went to them for the initial damage. Best part is that they are a preferred partner of State Farm. Total time without my vehicle is 8 weeks and counting. To be fair, we're on roughly week 3 of being without the van for the quality control issues. In my opinion, Adams Toyota was incompetent and did not have quality control. There is a lot more to this story than the short list above. Lot's of problems and delays and poor communication & customer service that cannot be tossed aside as "waiting for parts" or being swamped. Let the buyer beware..and take your vehicle elsewhere to get repairs. read more

I don't know about their service or actual buying procedures, BUT I do know that this was the best car sales pitching experience we have ever had! We have been to quite a few dealers, and we've bought quite a few cars. I can't stand the experience. However, this was the most enjoyable sales experience we have EVER had. We went to several dealers today, and Adams' sales staff blew it out of the water! We worked with Aaron, "the prius expert", and he was AMAZING. He was chill but knew everything about the car (most dealers don't know a damn thing about the cars). He had an answer to every question we asked...and not a BS answer like, "we have very reliable batteries," but answers with specifics. He heard our hesitations. He validated them and provided information to counter our assumptions or agreed with them if they were correct. He didn't play games. He shot straight. He was funny. He was knowledgable. He didn't pressure, push, or play stupid games. We were in and out with a test drive in less than 60 minutes. We left the dealership thinking, "Man, we should drink a beer with this guy." Now tell me how often you feel that way about a car salesperson?? ...'Nuff said. I don't know if we'll be buying a Toyota, but we loved the sales experience Aaron provided here, and it has us looking a lot longer at Toyota's options. I find keeping track of recalls on my car difficult... My car has been very very good to me prior to visiting the dealership. I had not taken my car in for while. I needed the recalls looked into. Two recall repairs =$850 later. They completed a full car inspection. The price was justified in our eyes. I would have given them 5 stars for that. I could tell my car was driving better. I was happy with their service. That is why they are getting 2 stars and not 1. Since then (about 2 months ago) two different 'errors' have occurred on my car. A week after I received my car after the full inspection my airbag sensor started going off again. Then the seat belt sensor joined in on the fun. We took it back. They had to order a new part. Spent some money on a female part and installation for the seat belt. Within a week of having that repair, the airbag sensory started going off (along with the check engine light) again. Also now, my seat belt began to intermittently pop out of the holder-- while driving! This has happened to me at least 4 times. I make sure it is in there good and find myself pulling on it to check it's tight--just in case. Scary. Took it back in. The car was giving a error code --different than the previous ones (obviously). They said it was the actual belt that needed replaced. To me that did not make sense. But who am I? They were unable to get the belt to release. So I am up a creek on that. The part they want to replace would cost me $250 (the belt part- not the part I think actually needs replace). There goes some of my Christmas money for my daughter. I would love to say I am not suspicious that my car, which has never showed any sign of issue- just all of a sudden started to go down hill. I want to trust that they have not done anything that would cause my car to act up and have to be taken back in. Businesses are all about the final dollar though. I have always heard never to take your car to a dealer except for recall repairs. I think I will need to follow that advice more in the future. read more

They finally sent the hubcaps to my home, so I will give them back a star. Still not really happy with the over-three-month wait for them to actually contact me. (No, they did not "attempt to contact me multiple times", they left ONE garbled & incomprehensible message on my machine.) They do have a very nice facility with a great waiting room, spacious, well-stocked with snacks, wifi, the whole thing. Sometimes the appointment system seems to work to get you in & out quickly; sometimes not. Hopefully all will go well with your sale &/or repair. Just be prepared to be a squeaky wheel in case of a problem, because otherwise you'll likely be ignored. read more

I purchased my car from Adams Toyota in 2007 and also got the extended car care program. It recently ran out and I am continuing to go back. The service they provide is outstanding. My husband and I spent a few weeks researching new tires and the discount places online trying to save a few $$'s but in the end called Adams and purchased the tires from them and had them put them on. Pull up to the door for the first appointment of the morning and you never have a very long wait. They have wifi, small area with starbucks coffee and venting machines, and tv's - nice waiting area. When I checked out the service person waited while I paid and walked me to my car. The extra small things they do are much appreciated. My car was there for tires but they still did a check on all the fluids. read more

Had a great car buying experience recently. My Sales Agent was Gonzalo Fernandez. He was amazing to work with. Very knowledgeable and helpful through the process. When I came in to pick it up, I was an hour late due to a flight delay, and I think I kept Gonzalo late. He gladly waited for me which I really appreciated. I got a great deal on my trade, and the warranty/maintenance package that Toyota provides is fantastic. About a week ago, we decided to go looking at SUV's--the Toyota RAV4 had great reviews so we headed for the nearest Toyota dealership. Our plan was to find a used vehicle with very low mileage. Since we live in Blue Springs, our first stop was Adams Toyota in Lee's Summit. Ronnie, the salesman there was very nice but unfortunately, none of the vehicles on their lot fit our needs. We left our number with him, asking him to contact us if the right one for us showed up. We then went back home--my wife did an online search and discovered 2 vehicles at Molle Toyota (which is across town from us). We ended up driving out there and found the perfect vehicle for us. On the way back home, we contacted the Adams Toyota salesman and let him know that we found one so that he didn't need to try to find one for us. Once we had our new vehicle, I decided that a hood protector would probably be a good idea. So, my wife found one online (Toyota website) and we ordered it through the nearest Toyota dealer, which again was Adams Toyota. When I went to pick it up, I hoped to ask someone at that dealership a couple of general RAV4 questions (about setting up navigation and use of the USB to play music). This was on a Saturday morning. Now, if they had been busy, I might have somewhat understood the response. But they were all just standing around talking. I politely asked whether someone could answer a couple of questions about the RAV4. The response, from a man who I don't believe was a regular salesman, was not a polite refusal (which I still would have a problem with) but a rude question about whether I bought this vehicle from them. And since I didn't, I needed to take it back to them to ask my questions! A refusal is one thing but it was the attitude about the fact that I dared ask a question from them. I tried to explain that it was a couple of general questions I needed help with but they were unwilling to answer any questions at all. I'm in my 70s and a very calm person normally but I actually ended up asking this guy why he was being such a jerk about it. Another person also came out who was the General Sales Manager there, While he wasn't quite as rude, he still was definitely not friendly or helpful. He repeated that if I had questions, then I needed to take them to the place where I bought the car. Here is the problem. You never know where your customers will come from. I'm sure you get some from advertising and some are repeat customers. You have to treat your customers right or you will lose them. Other new customers come from word of mouth. The point is: People talk, reviews are written, customer service matters. Fawning all over people who may buy from you and then treating them like they are enemies simply because they ended up purchasing from someone else is simply not okay. Even if the vehicle didn't come from your own lot, how you treat potential customers is important. In this case, you have not only lost any future business from us but if anyone we know says they are also interested in a RAV4 (a real possibility since it was a friend's vehicle that began our own search), we will definitely recommend that they avoid going to Adams Toyota. I hate writing reviews but the way you responded to a simple request for help that day was so out of line that I feel the need to warn others who may be considering buying from you. To end this review on a high note, the Parts Department was great. The hood protector we ordered did not fit this vehicle and that department gave us no problems at all about returning it. Just wish the rest of our experience here had matched. The difference between customer service at Adams and Molle Toyota are like night and day. The employees at Molle acted like adults and the ones at Adams (at least the ones in management positions) acted more like children trying to get even (???) Why, I'm not sure--because that attitude makes no sense whatsoever. You should be trying to keep all Toyota customers happy with the great service offered by Toyota so that those customers are singing the praises of the brand instead of warning people about which dealerships to avoid!! read more

Adams took exceptional care of me on a recall (overheating power-window switch)....BTW ALL READERS, DO NOT IGNORE YOUR RECALLS...when they inspected the switch the wires were already melted ... I didn't worry about it until I got my 2nd notice....don't ignore them. just don't. i felt really stupid. Anyway, when Adams didn't have the part in stock they wouldn't let me drive the car for safety reasons, so they lent me a new Corolla S with everything (the "S" model is sweet) and they had the switch the next day and I picked up my car. Because of their concern for my safety, and next-day service after lending me what was a very nice rental (check out the 2014 "S" seriously), Adams Toyota is right at the top of my list when I get ready to trade. I called in and they advised me to just come in and not schedule an appointment just to come on by. I was greeted immediately. The man who helped me noticed my messy car from driving through the snow and threw in a free car wash. My car was done in under an hour and washed. The service department is a disappointment. I have owned Toyota's for over a decade. Historically, one of the beat parts of owning a Toyota is the quality assurance. I scheduled a service appointment online and had a question about the roof seals on my tundra because every time I go to the car wash they pop off. After I asked, the agent responded with "just don't go to the car wash", I replied with "so a $60k truck can't handle the car wash". He vaguely offered a adhesive solution, but was rather dismissive about it. I also asked about having my radar sensor checked as it has been intermittently working. Check in guy dismissed it and said "ok". Went on in to the store to pay and the guy working said you have to come back for the sensor check because we can't look at it today. I wasn't pleased with that answer, but guess I can understand due to how busy they were. Went on to pay for the oil change/tire rotation that was scheduled at 0845, and the agent asked if I was staying or leaving the truck. I said "staying", he said "it will be 2 hours". I replied, "what is the point of scheduling an appointment?" He replied, "the appointment just reserves a slot." I stated, "ok, how would I have known that?" He replied, "I don't know". WRONG ANSWER! I left without service nor any apology or solution. I expect more from a Toyota service department. We pay too much for our vehicles to be treated like cattle. Not to mention the last time I had my oil changed here they kept all of my valve stem covers. The attention to detail, customer service, and cleanliness of this place is well below average. I will never go back to this service department until they change how they operate. It's not that hard, treat people right, do the right thing, and be reliable. read more

first off: love our 2006 toyota 4runner. best car we have ever owned. service at adams toyota however is dicey to say the least. they botched new spark plug job last year. turned out the tech dropped box with spark plugs. they were all cracked. installed them anyway. engine ran rough. took us 2 weeks of going back and forth until they finally admitted to it. 3 weeks ago they installed inner and outer cv boots. last week i found grease drops on garage floor. turns out the tech forgot to install a seal. part ordered. they apologized. will install seal for free. sat in lounge today for 2 hours for scheduled repair. turns out part was not ordered. wasted another day. they did finally give us a loner. good mechanics are hard to find i know but i have lost trust in adams toyota's ability to repair our car effectively. they need to clamp down on quality control in their shop. read more

The web-site has an online service appointment feature which is completely worthless. By the admission of the service department, this information does not come to them and they do not take appointments. I suspected as much since there is never any acknowledgment when I tell them I made an appointment and they ask me questions as if I just appeared. It's not in their system! After a 3 1/2 hour wait for an oil change that I had made an online appointment for, I questioned the service writer who got very belligerent and told me they do not take appointments. Said if I had called, he would have told me it's first in, first served. I asked, "So why have that service appointment scheduling system?" His reply, "So do you not want me to answer the phone?" Not my point. I kept asking that same question, "Why have the online service scheduling system if appointments are meaningless?" It is false and gives people false hope. He told me he was done talking to me and told me to leave. read more

Yea I know it's a dealer and it's a little more expensive (not by much), but it's always done right the first time and they don't try to sell you a bunch of extra stuff and their lobby is clean and stocked with drinks and snacks. When I took my car in for a possible warranty crack in windshield, Shawn pointed out where rock hit it (that's fine) but proceeded to dig at to mark it?!? Not acceptable! My recent experience was outstanding! My wife and I had purchased a vehicle from another dealer recently and added an aftermarket warranty. We ended up needing to replace the blower motor and a front strut, which the warranty states that they cover. When we took the truck in for service the warranty company accepted the blower motor, but declined the strut, stating that it was a "shock" instead. Rick Stangl our service advisor provided Excellent Customer Service in making phone calls to the warranty company while I was at work. Both Rick and I tried for hours to figure out why the warranty company would not cover the strut on the truck. After many failed attempts I finally drove into the dealership to pick-up the truck and figure out what my wife and I would do about the strut that needed repair. When walking to the truck Rick pulled his supervisor Sean over and asked him if he thought he truck had shocks or struts. Sean agreed that it was indeed a strut. At this time we explains the situation to Sean. After hearing the issue, Sean told Rick and myself that he would have Toyota pay for the repair to the truck. I am greatly pleased with Adams Toyota! They followed through every step of the way, got the job done and done right and have made a lifetime customer out of my wife and I. I owned an older Toyota all throughout college and into my first few years of teaching. I always took it to the dealership for routine maintenance and repairs. They were always very friendly and helpful, and I loved that they always washed my car afterwards! I also enjoyed getting the coupons in the mail for oil changes, tire rotations, etc. When my car needed a big repair, they knew I was a teacher and gave me 10% off. I now own a Dodge and therefore go to the Dodge dealership for all my needs, and it's just not the same atmosphere and service. Just one more reason that my next car will probably be another Toyota! read more

my wife and I have purchased 2 new Toyotas from Adams Toyota - we "thought" we were close to purchasing a third on Sat 11/2/2019 but this is what happened... Price of vehicle agreed to - no issues there. however when we came in to drive a particular vehicle as the salesman arranged sat a.m we were told the vehicle would not be back until 1:00pm "if it comes back" - I asked if the vehicle had be sold to another customer, stolen or what since they didn't know if it was coming back to dealership or not. Our original salesman (Najimme) and a salesman he asked to come over to talk to us about the situation would not give us a straight answer about the vehicle - so we had to assume that the salesman(s) sold the vehicle out from under us and wouldn't tell us straight - we felt like we were being treated like some naïve children on the deal. will not attempt to buy another vehicle from them - this is an obvious lack of integrity on 1 or both saleman. However, their service dept is impeccable. They wouldn't even try to see if they could find or work with us on another vehicle. Shame really for them as they did find my 2014 tundra out of state and we worked a deal - guess customer loyalty to them didn't mean much from their perspective on this particular "deal" - don't want them to contact me on this - we've already purchased the identicle vehicle from another metro Toyota dealer - actually paid $200 more for it but glad to do so based upon the excellent treatment we received from that dealership. read more
