Kristin and Susan made it possible for me to be on my business trip and feel my little ShihTzu was in a safe & fun place. I dropped her off at their doggie day care at two o'clock, and they allowed me to pick her up fifteen minutes after closing so I would not have to leave my work early. Tess can be a "worry wart," but she seemed calm and well cared for when I came to get her. The facility is very clean and well kept. Signage from the road is clear & parking is easy. They gave me a little "report card" when I picked her up. It gave me an idea of how Tess' day had been, and was a very nice gesture. The pricing at ADDA is fair and reasonable. If I could rate this a 0 I would. My dog went for a trial HALF day, which I was charged for a full day. When I went and picked him up they said that he would not be allowed back because of his barking..... on his first day... call me rude but most dogs are a little nervous on their first day away from home. They said he was too playful for the other dogs there, which is fine but I didn't think it would not allow him to return? I am certainly not interested in being allowed back, but I think it is plain silly to be charged for a TRIAL half day and then end up being charged for a full day. It's plain wrong. My dog loves his new doggy day care and is praised for getting his energy out around other dogs where barking is ALLOWED, which only makes sense because it's a place for dogs to PLAY. I might add that this facility was very small with over 15 dogs in one big room with no visible toys that I saw and a small dog door to go out to a small fenced in area. Very bad atmosphere for any animal and I DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Highly recommend A Dog's Day Away!! My puppy always has a blast and comes home super happy and tired. We have been going here for over a year and will keep coming back. Hands down, the best place to take your little dog ever. Ever. Their customer service is above and beyond. It's a women owned, local business so supporting them is a no brainer. My dog's behavior has improved over time thanks to the socialization help their very experienced staff is able to help supplement alongside my own training. I was very hesitant to send my dog anywhere because he has gone to dog school and been trained in obedience and i always thought that would go down the drain at the wrong place. I still believe that. But this isn't the wrong place. I love that all the dogs here are small, and that the staff is honest and tells me that they separated him because they sometimes think he needs a break (he does, he always wants to play!) he is so happy to go here, and has made friends, which I can see by the pics they upload. Our bichon has been coming here since she was a puppy. Wonderful clean facility where the owners care about every dog that comes in. Little dogs need a special place to play and A Dogs Day Away is that place. Definitely recommend a million times over. read more

Great place! So cute seeing all the small puppies together and not being trampled by big dogs! Staff is friendly I started bringing my puppy last week and he LOVES it. They provide a report card the first day and then let you know how he's doing after his time there. Prices are great and affordable too for a college student. They knew my dog the second day (different staff) and always know who he is when I drop him off and when I pick him up. Highly recommend. read more

I have been bringing my dog here for almost a year and can't say enough nice things about A Dog's Day Away! The entire staff is very friendly and I enjoy the pictures they put on Facebook as it gives me an opportunity to see what my dog is up to while I'm at work. ADDA is FABULOUS! I can't say enough about the owners and staff...and the doggies! I was invited to ADDA by their staff after having my small dog in training there with Springforth Dog Training (Katherine is a great trainer, by the way). It took me a while, as it was out of my way on the way to work, but I wasn't happy with the daycare she was in near Weymouth Landing, so I tried them....and my dog has been with them ever since! (almost 2 years) For those of you who like detailed reviews, read on. For those of you who don't, they definitely get 5 stars from me! They have great customer service, the facility is new, and the dogs are fantastic. And the staff is very attention: they noticed my dog's dew claws were almost going into her paw last year....I didn't even know what a dew claw was! I had just had her at the groomer who didn't notice. ADDA saved me a vet visit and bill...and my dog a lot of pain! *** FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO LIKE DETAILS: - Caring and attentive staff: They LOVE the dogs and prioritize them over anything. - Customer service: Staff greet you at your car and take the dog inside for you and have your dog ready to go when you arrive. They nap and feed your dog if you want, and respond to emails or calls within 24 hours. They go the extra mile. - Facility: State of the art small indoor and outdoor daycare on the owner's premises in a natural environment. Doggie doors between the indoors / outdoors. Dutch doors prevent escapes (you know small dogs can be escape artists!). They even added overhead lines to prevent hawks from coming into the outdoor pen. - The Dogs: They're all fabulous, small dogs who play together all day but can curl up on an oversized chair when tired. - They document everything that happens and let you know if they notice something. - Location: The location is off the beaten path if you're a Boston commuter or don't live nearby. There's a beautiful pond across the street, so it's beautiful when you get there. For me, bringing my dog there adds an extra 45 minutes to an hour-long morning commute, and their closing time is 6:30 so I just make it in time. My dog is usually the last one there, so I doubt they have many Boston commuters. The only suggestion I would make to them are if they want more dogs is to experiment staying open until 7:00 for Boston commuters IF they want more dogs. It would make a huge difference if a staff person is willing to stay and if it's worth it to them to get more business. BUT I ONLY MENTION THIS BECAUSE I STILL BRING MY DOG THERE WITH THE ADDITIONAL COMMUTE TIME and I hope to have my dog there as long as I can do that! So that should tell you something about these folks...they're wonderful. I tout their services to all small dog owners, and I never worry about my dog being there because I know she's safe, happy, and exercising and getting tired, which is the whole reason I bring her! This daycare does an amazing job and they truly put the dogs needs first. We had visited other daycares and none compared to this one. They do not just push a dog into the group of dogs without a proper introduction and adjustment time. Many small dogs seem to be more anxious and at A dogs day away they cater to those dogs and make sure the dog is comfortable in its surroundings and with the other dogs. I also love how it's a quiet daycare and that the dogs do follow that rule. Impressive!! Could not be happier. It's clean, the staff are knowledgeable and take the time to get to know your dog and their needs. So happy to find this gem!! read more

We love it here! Our puppy is only 4 months old so he needs all the love and play time he can get. He loves being at daycare and we can tell the staff truly love our boy! I especially love that we can drop him off any time and you don't need to schedule it in advance! Our pup comes home and is so sleepy after all the fun he had. It's great to check out their Facebook page too because they sometimes add photos or videos throughout the day. I would recommend this doggie daycare to anyone! read more

The folks running this daycare are so friendly and my little one loves going to daycare! I am so glad I was able to find this hidden gem specializing in small breed only doggie daycare. You can tell they truly care for all of the dogs here - and love that they post pictures and videos on facebook so you are able to "check-in" on your dogs and see them interacting with their daycare friends! LOVE THIS PLACE!!! and my babies (puppies) do too!!! such a beautiful, clean facility, almost looks like it was built to be a doggy day care. i wanted to check the place out so i called to set up an appointment. Francine (I think that was her name) was super helpful with all my question,. you could tell that she loves babies (doggies) as much as i do. they offer some great services (grooming and training i think) i havent checked them out yet but excited to give them a try. rex and sasha are regular guests twice a week and i swear they get excited when they know they are going!!!! read more

Absolutely the best! I was taking care of my daughter's dog for five weeks. He is used to going to daycare at home in California, and I knew he (and I) needed for him to have some doggy playtime. I can tell you that every person I met is warm, caring, and competent, and lots of other things like that. But most important is that from the second time I took him there and each visit until it was time to say goodbye, Reggie started trying to get out of the car as we were going up their driveway. He squealed happily and went off to play totally happy and care-free. read more

Our Shitzu Ruby lost her brother a year ago and was very depressed when we had to leave her home alone. We are so thankful to have found ADDA. The staff are amazing. Very caring and attentive. The facility is so cute and safe with all day access to outside. Ruby has really thrived and has made so many friends. She shakes with excitement every time we pull up to her "school" I would highly recommend ADDA to anyone with a small dog who wants to insure that their fur baby is safe and happy while they are at work. I've only taken my Nicky (6 yr. old shih tzu) here a few times but has left him with the owner on weekends. A+ for the real care and concern for the dogs. The place gets an A+ too. What made me a fan of this facility is that the owner Francine really believes in NOT FORCING your dog to socialize with the others if not ready! That's an important thing for me. She does it slow as not to traumatize the dog. I believe in socialization for dogs cause it's very beneficial physically and mentally for them but if you're going to traumatize the shy dog just to be able to socialize him/her... it's not worth it and not good for the dog. The facility takes that to heart and that's a big thing for me. read more

I am SO grateful that my neighbor recommended A Dog's Day Away to me. My dog absolutely ADORES going. He has separation anxiety, yet when I drop him off in the morning, he can't wait to get inside and doesn't look back! I love the photos and videos the staff posts to Facebook, and the reports I get about how my dog is doing--like that he now has a pug BFF! They offer transportation to and from day care, as well as overnight stays, which makes life with an inconsistent work schedule very easy! It's clear that the women who own A Dog's Day Away and the staff genuinely care about and love all the dogs; they get to know each one's personality, quirks, and preferences so well. I never have a concern when he's in their care. The facility is incredibly well-kept and clean, inside and out; no doggie smell! The outdoor area is fenced with overhead protection from any winged predators; they really thought of everything! Anyone with a small dog who asks me if I take my dog to day care gets emphatic encouragement to check out A Dog's Day Away. Another reviewer mentioned that A Dog's Day Away was the answer to his or her prayers, and I couldn't agree more!! read more
