After 20 years as a loyal, dues paying member of Addison Cigar, I have canceled my membership. For many years the former manager of the club, Mark Bartlett, created a welcoming atmosphere, a fun environment, and truly build a sense of community. Mark wasn't the greatest businessman in the world, and we members put up with the lacking ventilation, dirty bathrooms, old furniture, and other shortcomings because of Mark......we knew how much he loved us and that shop. Since his unfortunate passing the owner has brought in a new manager and the words "customer service" or "member" are not part of his vocabulary. Numerous changes have been implemented that make us all feel more like a number than a member, but the most egregious came last Thursday when I walked in the shop and the poker table where I and a number of other members gathered a few days a week to play some cards had been taken out. No warning, no conversation, no explanation. When I initiated a discussion with the manager, he basically told me that my and our opinions did not matter, as we are "just members". After 20 years, we were cast aside like some dirt off the bottom of your shoe. I hate to say it but I, as well as about another 15+ members have quit our memberships. It has been a sad week and this has been very difficult to write. read more

In from out of town and establishment had decent reviews. Great selection of cigars with good prices. I wasn't exactly made to feel welcomed when asked if I could smoke one of the cigars there. Was informed Wednesday was poker night even though the majority of the patrons were kicking back enjoying a smoke. Saw no one playing poker. Since the cashier thought he was doing me a favor by letting me smoke one of the cigars I purchased on the premises I simply departed. I also had to ask for my change. Odd experience. read more

Very informed staff. I have a specific flavor I like in a cigar, and the staff directed me to several cigars that all were exactly what I like. I also like the casual friendly atmosphere. Love the selection but hate being treated like I'm an annoyance by the older guy that works there. And him walking through the humidor with a cigarette should be a crime!! Why corrupt such a good selection of cigars?!?! WTH?? Also, I can't always go in because if I'm in my work uniform when I'm nearby I can't afford for even a 3-min "look" through the humidor because the cigar and cigarette smoke are so dense that it'll "ruin" your clothing in minutes. I have to be in other-than-work clothes that I can afford to get VERY smoky in order to go in and shop. They need to isolate/insulate the cigar lounge better and not have the entryway smell like a bar with the cigarette smoke. read more

They have a large sized humidor that is well stocked with great cigars from many of the brands I enjoy. However, the last time I was there the gentleman tending shop came into the sealed walk in humidor smoking a lit cigarette. Maybe it's just me, but that was enough for me to leave without buying any cigars. read more

Came in to get a pipe and some tobacco the guy that runs the place was awesome down to earth guy he helped me with what I needed and invited me to come out Sunday for the game. I love a good cigar and love some good company while smoking one. Learning about cigars is like learning about fine wines and these guys have a selection worthy of the finest places. The staff is very friendly and are always willing to make some proper suggestions to fit every budget. The private lounge in the back is where the fun is always happening. The membership is cheaper than a country club, and the good times are more plentiful. I enjoy learning the ends and outs of cigars like wine (reds) and whiskeys (makers mark) - That being said the staff here has been more than charitable in answering my barrage of questions, and journeying with me through the treasury of cigar selections they have nicely tucked into a corner humidor. There are a few tables in a parlor when you walk in which has never been empty in my various visits. I think next time I will sit down and see what the regulars are talking about while I enjoy watching the smoke spiral from my lips. This shoppe also has a mens club which adds to the exclusive atmosphere. It is around a $250 sign up fee and $30 a month - but the room is full of plush leather couches, a private stocked bar, numerous flat screens, and a large poker table. So somebody suggested I go here. Decided to go on my break. I walk in and there's 2 gentlemen sitting at the table. One was on the phone. I'm thinking he was the owner. He asked me to hold on. I think the correct thing to do was place your caller on hold or hang up and attend to your customer. Ok no biggie. A customer came out of the humidor and he immediately went to the cash register to take care of him. I'm still standing there. How rude. I politely walked out and will never return. Great selection and a very nice setup. However the older gentleman who was annoyed enough to never even make eye contact with me nor great or even acknowledge any of my questions turned my first experience into the very last experience here. Maybe you get enough business and don't care for new clientele or just not into customer service. But at least be a decent human being and pretend to entertain someone who is asking questions with more than a "yup". read more

My friend is a member here so every few months he hosts a cigar meet. The place has always been great and all the gentlemen in there are very polite. They have a great selection of glasses in the back room with a supply kitchen. Sofas and TVs are great. They've also got a pretty sweet poker table back there too. Patio is nice as well. The humidor is one of the best I've ever seen and will make you take forever to pick out what you want. They guy behind the register who runs the place is always very nice to me and offers me more ice and gives me deals sometimes. Theres one guy in the back room who tells jokes he had me laughing so hard I nearly pissed myself. Whenever my buddy hosts the meet I never miss it. read more

The place was exactly what I would picture a Cigar shop to be in Texas. It had character, quality cigars and other items but what made it great is having the owner of the place being the last one closing the shop down at 9pm. Robert Wilson is a great example of why small business succeed. He is the business and has created a following in the community that has people driving from an hour away just to come to his location. I "discovered" this place after they moved to the current location. I happened to stop in early on a Friday evening to treat myself to a cigar. They do have memberships available, but I was invited to join the folks sitting around talking, smoking, and relaxing. I have been back many times since and learned that ALL friendly folks are welcomed to join in the discussion and sit and visit. There are many times I have been made welcome during a game or a cookout, and sitting on the patio with the bigscreen and a cigar is fantastic. I highly recommend that people stop by and stay a while to check it out. read more

I had quite the opposite experience when I visited this store. The employees were rude and very unhelpful! I have started going to Cigar Shop and More on Beltline Rd and I have sent all of my co-workers there too. Addison cigar needs a lesson in customer service. My cigars were tossed around, my change was practically thrown at me, and I was treated like women have no place in cigar shops. Well, lesson #1, I spend roughly $5000 per year on cigars for my business, and Addison Cigar will get none of it. read more
