The cottage was immaculate, roomy, comfortable, with AC, wireless (it worked on my laptop), a hot tub (which my husband used--bad back), and many other ammenities. The inn keepers, Bea and Sterling, were gracious, friendly, funny, very knowledgeable about the area, and extremely helpful. Breakfast each morning was served at 9:00--juice, fruit bowl, coffee, fresh muffins/banana bread/blueberry scones, and a delicious entree such as oven baked french toast with apples and nuts/crepes with strawberries/yogurt fruit parfait, served in the main house in a lovely bright eating area with a beautiful view of the well kept lawn (recently, a doe and her two fawns walked right by the large windows). The location is about 15 minutes from Ithaca (great restaurants/Taughannock Falls, farmers market), about 25 minutes from Watkins Glen (falls, boat cruise on Lake Seneca), and about an hour from Corning (Corning Glass Museum). We also were very close to and rode through some beautiful wine country and had lunch one afternoon at the Thirsty Owl Winery and Bistro--amazing. If you are expecting a sterotypical B&B, this might not be your cup of tea, but we loved it. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, and homey. I herewith quote Sterling (the owner): "We are not quaint, charming, or historical," but I have to disagree--it was quaint and charming and we did get a lot of historical information from the owners. I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed. Great place to stay if your children are students at Cornell or Ithaca. They also have single rooms in the main house.

You walk into an outdated paneled kitchen and living room and you immediately feel like you are in someone's home. It is not a welcomed feeling. There were no snacks offered, limited drinks (only pre-sweetened iced tea) and the breakfast was just acceptable at best (one pancake rolled up with jam inside). The bedrooms are upstairs (again - dark paneling) and it feels more like a rooming house than a B&B. The separate "cottage" is actually a mobile home unit. The "jacuzzi" is a very small, portable soft sided hot tub. I can't imagine how the other reviewer used her laptop because we had absolutely no service on our computer or I-phone. Nothing quaint or cozy anywhere - my suggestion is to spend a little more and stay elsewhere.

We rented a lakeside cabin and the view was amazing especially mid mornings when the sun is high illuminating the lake and the greenery surrounding it. We had our own dock which my nephew had so much fun fishing! His first time lol the cabin was also neatly maintained with all the equipment we need ready and available. Grill and fire pit was nice and clean and over all area was just very well kept. They have a pool area, dog park, kayaks for rent, gold carts for rent and they have a convenience store available if you ever needed any essentials. There's an ice cream booth there too! If you get past the very-close-to-nonexistent wifi and signal, you'll survive here and give yourself a good time!

BBQ fans need to set aside a Friday evening this summer and make their way out to the Turkey Trot…read more The Turkey Trot is a well renown hunting lodge during turkey hunting season, but starting this summer they're holding Friday barbecue nights that are open to the public. Anyone living in the Binghamton or Ithaca regions should definitely make the drive. Pete and Sherry are the incredibly friendly proprietors, and they will give you a warm welcome and a huge helping of incredible smoked BBQ pulled pork or their homemade sausages. They also have a great selection of beers on tap, including multiple Ithaca Beer Company choices. My girlfriend is a vegetarian, and she enjoyed their homemade veggie burger. The setting is quite amazing too. They have a large open air dining hall/concert stage where you sit down to eat, with dozens of hummingbirds floating around to the various feeders placed on the deck. The area is decorated with album covers and concert posters for 60s/70s psych rock and country rock bands (they are actually hosting concerts for New Riders of the Purple Sage and Commander Cody in August/September). I really can't recommend this enough in terms of the quality of food, and for the good time you'll have while there.
