When arriving to the bar we sat in the patio.Then waived at the waitress to let her know we just sat. We ordered the rasberry frozen margaritas,they were not even frozen and tasted like robitussin dont recommend.Then ordered food,took over an hour later for some chicken tenders and tots. The waitress didnt even let us know the kitchen was backed up. Or else we would of just had drinks and left. She brings out the food does not even offer us condiments or napkings and leaves us there another hour we could not get her attention unless standing up and waiving at her. This is a local bar to me I try I frequent but I always end up next door because the bartenders at this place are always unpleasant at best, rude at worst. Never smiling, always look miserable. Food is really cheap tasting compared to next door which you can tell the quality. We were watching the eagles cowboys game and laughing having a good time taking shots. They came up to us and said we're being too loud (the bar was silent probably by training from these bartenders hushing people). We're at a bar watching a big game and having a good time? Very weird to be shushed in a bar setting lol. We immediately felt unwelcomed and went next door where it was fun, loud, where free shots are given by the bartenders. Every bartender at VP Tavern is smiling and laughing and so are all the patrons. No one is laughing or smiling here at ice house... Aka, I'm done with this place. I've given them so many chances. Sometime you walk into a place before ever trying their food and know you'll be back. This is one of those places. Friendly staff and a great selection of southern comfort food and burgers. They have a BBQ pit outside so you know it's not good service BBQ you're eating. The view also complements the food. I'd say stick with some BBQ or a burger and you're good to go! ...my first time there...to see the Christmas lights, which were SPECTACULAR! ...tried the Hill Country Egg Rolls...they were actually pretty darn good. But the Holy Trinity Barbecue plate, needs to be run out of Texas on a rail to, maybe, Connecticut. The brisket was dry, cold and stiff...more like a left over roast...had to ask for BBQ sauce. The sausage was actually pretty nice (all sausage is)...but the ribs..NOT! They were dry, cold and had about as much flavor, texture and appeal as a Play-Doh...probably re-heated too many times. The rub tasted like ashes. The beans were of the store bought, canned variety, with nothing to punch them up. Our first few beer selections were rejected for being: Not Available. We asked about some creative names of other brews....staff said they were really just fancy pseudonyms for run of the mill, brand names. Which brings us to our hostess...talk about low energy! I don't think we ever saw as smile or spark of personality or general interest that we were even there. I've pretty much become a regular here, as I normally come on Sundays to join the Jets Football Fan Club of Dallas in watching their abismal Jets get their butts stomped by whatever team they're playing that weekend! It's hard to find a bar in Addison with a great view. Most of them are of the street, but this place has one of the best views/atmospheres in Addison. All of the staff were very attentive and friendly but most importantly, we got our drinks quickly! Actually that may not be the most important, but it was definitely a plus! Since the patio is open, it can get a little warm if you're inside trying to take advantage of the AC. I would like to know what planet it is appropriate for a waitress to tip herself $20 without permission? My boyfriend and his friends went to trivia night last night and won. They asked the waitress to split the money evenly between the bills. Instead, she tips herself $20, and then splits the remaining $5 between the tickets. When my boyfriend pointedly tipped her zero, she giggled and said, "it's all right. I already got more than 20%." The other two members of his party didn't care, and they all wanted to leave so they didn't tear her a new one in front of her manager. This is hands down THE best bar in Addison! The food is A++MAZING and they have a great beer selection! The bartender was very knowledgeable and helped me find a beer I'd never tried before and it's now my favorite! Two problems I personally experienced: (1) Just because the rotators are not priced on the menu it does not mean you can charge whatever you want. Laughable you charge a Rahr Wiskey Warmer $10 when it's $5 at Flying Saucer. And an undrinkably-weak No Label for $7. (2) Wings are awful. Don't know how long they let the wings sit out before serving them the skin hadan awful texture, and the fries that came with it had a foul taste. On top of that the so called BBQ wings hardly had sauce on it so we had to ask for extra sauce, which they charged you extra for. read more

It was bustling on a Friday night but not too crazy and it was nice to not be battling our way down Beltline. The weather was weirdly nice so we sat outside; I was impressed that the picnic tables had padded seats! I was also surprised by the fancyish cocktails, the Grapefruit Ninja immediately called my name, it was grapefruit vodka, ginger beer, basil, some other stuff, very tasty and refreshing! And while their beer selection was pretty big and had lots of local stuff, my husband likes stouts and there weren't that many to choose from (our waitress didn't seem to know the beer menu at all, either.) We just wanted to have a little something to eat so we got nachos....and they sure were little! It was 6 chips with a modest amount of chicken (we wanted the pulled pork that was on the menu but they didn't have it "yet" which I'm not even sure what meant) cheese and black beans. It was almost comical how they were fanned out like "maybe this will distract you from the fact you paid $8 for a 6 chips!" That was insanity to us and why the 3 stars. Well, that and the obnoxious, douchey crowd which is no big surprise in Addison but it was still a little bit of a letdown. We may be back but not for the nachos! One thing I loved was walking by the doggy day care across the street and peeking in the windows at all the dogs, which is super adorable and entertaining. read more
