(From August 2024) After the 311 show at TU Centre or whatever that venue is, I got the munchies and a hunkering for some beers where there are tvs. YELP brought me here as this place was on the way to my hotel. Walking in, it's a dark atmosphere so it's a sketchy appearance. I kept to myself and found a spot at the bar in front of the tvs. Got some wings and tator tots with a few large miller lites. The food is alright, nothing to rave about but it does the job in filling you up and giving you something to munch while you're cheering on your team or watching a UFC fight. The tab was reasonable so I'll probably be here again since it didn't break the bank and was a better option than buffalo wild wings. read more

Benders is one of those places that just gets everything right. Great drinks, great bartenders, and great food. And okay, please don't laugh... but their tater tots are honestly the best! I'm one of those people who thinks every bar should have tots, and Benders totally delivers on that front. The atmosphere is exactly what you want in a neighborhood spot -- fun, laid back, and welcoming. The couple of pool tables are a nice bonus and definitely add to the good times. It's where I watch all my sports. 2: SERVICE: From Happy Hour to Humiliation: I am writing this open letter because of my deep disappointment with how an incident was handled at your establishment yesterday, on Friday August 29, 2025. I arrived on time for a planned meetup with my friend Mesh, and while waiting I noticed from your website that Happy Hour runs until 7:00 PM. At approximately [6:4x], I decided to order a beer from one of your servers, Shiree, whom I've previously applauded for her positive demeanor. Here is what transpired: I paid with a $20 bill for one $5 beer. Instead of taking my $15 change, I asked if I could use it to get 3 additional beers (since 4 x $5 = $20, a straightforward transaction). Shiree appeared flustered and responded to me with the words: "...and this is why we don't do this shit..." referring directly to my request. When I asked her to clarify, she became confrontational, refused to return my $15, and loudly insisted I would "drink all the beers" instead. This all happened at the bar, in front of other patrons, including a group of older women who openly mocked my accent afterward. To make matters worse, a man I believe to be a supervisor congratulated her on how she "handled" the situation. This experience was humiliating, hostile, and completely unprofessional. Shiree is not doing customers a favor by serving them--it is her job, and part of that job is handling transactions accurately and respectfully. A $20 payment for four $5 beers should not trigger hostility or insult. I want to make it very clear: I did nothing wrong in asking to apply my change toward additional drinks during Happy Hour. I have video footage of the incident with audio, and I am confident your own surveillance footage will corroborate what happened. I am inviting Benders management--and Shiree, if she wishes--to explain what part of my actions was wrong, and why I was subjected to such behavior in your establishment. Customers deserve respect, not public embarrassment. As of now, I no longer feel safe or welcome at Benders. I will not return. But I will also not stay silent about this experience. Benders is an amazing low key bar. I live within walking distance. Been here probably around 7 times, they have every day specials, $5 shots very day and for me food is important. Let me tell you, I've tried the fried pickles and they are crispy, not soggy, and overall good. (Get a side of Buffalo sauce). On mondays their OG burger is $5.00. Delicious! On thursdays and Friday's their one topping pizza is $5. I'm telling you for cheap food it's actually really good. The people making it care for the food and it shows. Wednesdays they have $5.00 sandwiches and I mean all. Everything I have tried is actually really good. The bartenders recognize me and remember me and they are all cool people. They have so many TVs where you can watch any Dallas sport. Don't come if you like an opposite team. Come on now. Let's go Mavs! Let's go cowboys! Let's go stars! Rangers I admit we suck. Great bar to watch a game. The staff is friendly and it was actually fairly crowded. They have a number of TVs and will put any game on that you would like. They also have good food selections along with a multitude of beers on tap. read more

Went to watch the SMU Clemson game for the ACC Championship but they had all TVs in a UFC fight. The Penn State Oregon game was also on for big 10 but they were only concerned with showing the UFC fight. At least 20 tv screens in this TEXAS SPORTS BAR and they were only concerned with a UFC fight. Other people showed up to watch our local boys play for SMU and we were told they could put it on one screen but no sound. What the actual hell? We all left and went to another bar. This is a newer spot in a nondescript shoppinh mall near Red Rock bar. We have been several times now. And have always had a fun time. The first time our waitress was excellent. Funny, attentive and friendly. The next couple of times our waitress did not want to be there, and had to be flagged down. Their drinks are decently priced and they have a large range of shots that are reasonably priced with a decent level of alcohol and well mixed. I like to tell my shots have alcohol in them while also enjoying the flavor. I have only eaten there once, but they have typical bar food on the menu. I ordered wings with fries that were solid and reasonably priced. Overall, it's a great spot, although small and not probably a place for huge groups. It also caters to a better crowd than some of the other local haunts, so don't let that scare you away. read more

Great spot! We first went to Bender's to watch a game as a part of a fanatic NFL watching club (I don't want to hurt their biz in the event there are any haters out there)! This is a great bar, I have been coming here for about 18 months. First time was in 2020 during Covid when my usual bar was shut down for a couple of months. The bartenders are great and the drinks are reasonably priced. There is usually a good crowd when I go in the evenings and they have tons of TVs to watch sports. The food is really good, much better than your average bar food. I have tried a lot of the menu and have not been disappointed by anything. If you're not a regular preferred customer you will be mistreated. My friends and I go a couple of times each week. This last time there a racist bartender was upset about a tip and kicked us out after having paid for our last drinks. Not good at making mixed drinks. They can only pour beer. I reached out to the manager and got no response. They will let people who are in your party add items to your tab and even give them your credit card and let them close the tab. Also, they don't ID anyone and that's a huge violation on their license. read more
