BASIC Salon. Please do not pay these expensive prices for a $20 salon. To begin with they're a walk-in only salon so you could be waiting almost 45min just for a fill in. The cleanliness is like your basic DMV salon. Like its nothing special. I came in for a polish change on my toes and a full set with gel polish & spent $70. They don't even have menus or a board with their prices listed. Ohhh and to top it off it's a $2 service fee when using a card. If you want to spend the same amount, get a clean environment, and complementary wine & snacks go out Bowie to The Village Nail Bar. read more

I have been going to Annie for years and she is the best. She's quick, minimal chatter, and does a overall superb job! I don't trust anyone else more than her with my nails; I know I won't have any lumps, bumps, or weird shapes. She is very precise with applying her acrylic and filing. Oh and by the way she takes appointments and adheres to them. She's extremely timely and the longest I've waited is 5-10 mins for her to finish someone up. It's in Capitol Heights, so don't expect over luxurious (no wine offered), but your nails will be gorgeous so that's all that matters lol. I've gone back a few times over the past two years because to be honest, they're convenient. I don't have to make an appointment, so that's a plus but that first experience was the only good one. They're certainly fast and straight to the point which is okay but some of the staff is flat out rude. They also don't pay attention to detail....I have yet to get my nails shaped the way that I like them, even with showing photos. The pedicures have been a hot mess too... I haven't been able to find a convenient quality nail salon yet, which is why I go back because they get the job done but yeaaaahhh... Issa no for me! Ok, so I don't usually do this, but I'm going to share a secret with y'all. I can be very picky when it comes to my nails. How picky you ask; well prior to coming across Addison Nails, I would travel about 30+ miles to Tysons Corner, VA [not to mention pay about $45] just to get a french pedicure every other week b/c I refuse to let anyone touch my feet. [Shhhhh!, don't judge me] #Ijs; ladies tell the truth, there is nothing worse than not being 95-100% pleased with the hair or nail services you've received after you've spent time and money to get them done.......Let's just be honest. **But then I came across the ladies at Addison Nails. Everyone here is great. I visit Layla for my hands and eyebrows and Tina for my feet (sometimes eyebrows). Thier service/work satisfies even the pickiest client :-). The only reason I started getting my nails done (hands/gel overlay) is b/c I love Layla's work. My nails look natural. The shop is clean, neat, everyone is very nice/polite/personable and the prices are extremely reasonable. What I used to pay for just a french pedicure in Tysons Corner now gets my hands and brows done with change for the tip. I mean really......! You will be very very pleased with the end result. I have been coming to Addison Nails for a while now and I really love it. At first, I had to learn the system: make an appointment! I was definitely picking the wrong times to come and was always waiting. I am glad that I did not let that frustrate me. After a few times of coming, I settled on Bamboo doing my nails. She is consistently great and funny too. All of the other technicians are great too so if Bambo happens to not be available when I need her, I feel comfortable going to someone else. Although I live in Capitol Heights, MD, I was consistently patronizing a nail shop in College Park, MD because it was close to my job. After I had my son, I wanted a place closer to home, so my search began. After reading the reviews on yelp about Addison Nails, I gave it a chance. Surprisingly the shop lived up to the reviews. The employees were professional, kind, and didn't make me feel like "just another nameless brown face." Bamboo took care of my underarm waxing which hurt very little (considering I was two months over due for a wax). After all services were rendered, I left with a manicure, pedicure, and under arm waxing for $50. I will continue to patronize them. They are right across from Addison Road Metro and budget friendly for this school teacher! read more

Absolutely disgusted with this place. Was referred because I heard they did a great job, but their customer service skills are terrible. Decided to try it out, and had brought my 11 month nephew. Had a bottle and toy to distract him, and him sitting in my lap apparently was a "no no". My manicure may have taken longer than the average 15 minutes but when my nephew wasn't in my lap, the guy clipped my cuticle and it did not stop bleeding for 10 minutes. the guy grew impatient so a different lady had to step in and then the lady proceeded to tell me that I need to leave and I can come back when I don't have my nephew... are you serious? Then she then tells me "$30" $30 for an unfinished manicure and my cuticle is still bleeding?! I refused to pay but they wouldn't allow that and said I could come back and get it fixed. Of all the years I have driven up and down Central Ave I never knew this establishment was there. I was a little nervous walking in because of reading prior star ratings and having bad experiences going to other places that weren't technically my own "home nail salon". But I sure was fool. So I walked in and was greeted by the lady sitting in the second nail station and she asked which service I needed and also reminded me if I was paying with a card that there would be a $2 surcharge. I honestly appreciated that the most because some places WON'T Tell you until you pay. I was then asked to pick a color and head to the back where I went to get my pedicure. Let me tell you the massage chairs they have her are AMAZING! despite them being covered with sheets (smart move so they don't get dirty). So she began my pedicure, it was great a last minute one I just wish it wasn't so rushed. She gave me what I asked for a nail cut down and the shape that I like square .. not square round, not round, a square toenail shape and it's clean. I also received a manicure, again shape successfully executed. All in all I will be returning to this nail salon. This place is nice. I went one day after work in the middle of the week and it wasn't busy at all. The staff wasn't very professional, but their work was good. I didn't get much guidance as to what to do and where I should go (as far as pick out polish and where to sit) since I had never been there before. I'm updating my review because the last few times I've come here the customer service was awful. I got a pedicure the other day and when I sat down to wait no one moved to fill the foot bath with water as a sat there for at least five minutes. Then, when the woman came in to do my pedicure, she was very rude, had no personality and when one of her long time customers came in, she basically pushed me to the side and stopped working on my toes and moved on to her. The best nail stylist in the salon is Mikey, but since you can't make appointments and his schedule is all over the place, I never know when to come in to see him. The only plus side about this salon is that it's semi-affordable compared to the others in the entire area. Not sure if I'll come back here. Might just pay the extra money to have an overall better experience. read more

I came in today for the first time after being recommend the nail salon on multiple occasions. Although I was told to see Annie or Layla , they had a long wait so I took a risk and went with the next available. Annie greeted me , immediately sat me down to soak off my gel polish. A man, I didn't catch his name although I believe he's the only guy, came and did my nails. I didn't get a manicure but I did still get a cut down and shape for only 20$. He was even generous enough to include the hand massage since it was my first time (that I believe usually cost extra because the tech beside him began to argue that I was only receiving a polish change) . OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this place and I have found my new nail home! Beginning with my pedicure: The tech took her time and did everything perfectly! She painted my toes perfectly! I received a full set. The gentleman took his time to file and buff my nails after the acrylic had been applied. I accidentally messed up the acrylic by hitting it before it dried. I was nervous that he would get upset. He was so nice about it when he saw it. He just kept working with my nails. That means a lot. A lot of salons will become angry if you mess something up. Won't be back. I actually liked the way my nails were done but the customer service is not up to my standards. I came in for a fill and a color change on my toes. The woman did my nails and then I was expected to wait until someone who was doing pedicures was finished with there clients to get a color change on my toes. Mind you about 5 women came in while I was getting my nails done to get pedicures. I told the technician it was not acceptable especially since I was just getting a polish change how hard is that?. I was referred to this nail salon by a friend of a friend. I've been trying for months to find a salon that does QUALITY gel manicures...found it! And it's less than 5 minutes from my house. I've traveled to downtown DC, Virginia, and MoCo. Only to end up with peeling and cracking gel polish a week later. I was so afraid to go on a Saturday morning. I thought it was going to be super busy. While there were maybe 5-7 ppl at the nail tables already, I was serviced immediately. I walked in, sat down, and was soaking off my gel polish within 5 minutes. The nail tech shaped my nails perfectly! And on her own. I prefer my nails to be as short as possible and I always have to coach a tech through the shaping process. I was only there for an hour. On a Saturday morning. I can't get over that! I love this shop! They are always on point. Last week I went there and they didn't have any power because of an accident on Central Avenue but that didn't matter. Initially I had great experiences at this place with Annie. I recommended several people to her, however after recently I have not had a pleasant experience. I mistakenly scheduled an appt on a day that I was not available by the time I remembered I could not contact the shop bc they are closed on Mondays, therefore I called when I could. Instead of being understanding, Annie began to act differently towards me. I felt like she was trying to brush me off and not allow me to schedule another appt. I wanted to schedule an appt on a Tuesday when I called the week before she told me to call next week but the shop is closed on mondays I called again to book for Tuesday and as I was about to book my appt. she sarcastically asked if I was going to remember this time as if I forgot before. Today was my scheduled appt, I had a feeling something fishy was going to happen but I showed up anyway. Once I arrived Annie proceeded to tell me I was booked for an hour earlier than my scheduled time however that was not true. I showed up on time as I usually do. She proceeds to try to embarrass me and speak in a foreign language about the situation. So after today I will not be returning. Mind you I have never been late to an appt or not showed up ever. I will never go back to this salon again and I don't recommend anyone to go unless you aren't going to ask any questions in reference to whatever service you are receiving. Having recently relocated to the East Coast from LA, I've had my share of culture shocks, and, of course, the usual relocating issues: finding a: church home, physician, hair stylist, my-kind-of-shopping boutiques, and a nail technician. Needless-to-say, living temporarily in PG County, it's been challenging. However, so far, I've found 2 out-of-3. I discovered Addison Nails on Yelp (thank you Yelpers!) Tina is my nail technician and she is wonderful! The salon is not east to find...if you blink on Central Avenue between Hill Road and Addison Road, you'll miss it. But, it's worth finding, because Tina is a jewel: talented, funny, no-nonsense, honest and dedicated her craft. The salon is clean, well-kept, timely and professional. When I move next year, whether to Arlington or the Eastern Market area, if Tina is still at Addison Nails, I will remain her client. And, if she leaves...I will follow her! read more

I went here on several occasions and had really hoped it would be my new go-to salon. I tried four different technicians and it just didn't work out. First getting to the salon is a chore. It is on a gravel parking lot and if you are driving too fast you just might miss the turn into the "shopping center." The place is ALWAYS crowded. That doesn't mean its a good sign. I've made appointments and would still have to wait. Or how about I've made appointments only to be told by the person who I was suppose to see "Can someone else do your nails? I'm backed up." What??? Obviously they are not hurting for money but guess what, having a little respect goes a long way. The very last time I went the girl who did my nails complained the whole time that they were so long. How about you keep that to yourself and do my nails. That's what you get paid to do right? When I decided to go back to a different shop, they were appalled at my nail job. I have never used color acrylic and honestly I don't know what the proper procedure is when you change colors. Apparently they did a horrendous job because the acrylic was entirely too thick. I was soooo happy when I removed that crap from my nails. If you don't mind being rushed, you should go here.
