I'm always greeted warmly by the receptionist and have never had a long wait for my service(s). The salon is clean, quaint, and neat. You will have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the salon. For a Brazilian appointment I'm always out in about 30 minutes. The service is neat and as comfortable as can be and I like coming to BareSkin because I have limited discomfort during my waxing. The products and techniques the staff employs is phenomenal and they truly care about skincare maintenance in between appointments. There is paid street parking nearby but I recommend earlier appointments for more parking openings (the salon is located in Old Town Alexandria) $$

The spa is very clean and well kept. Recently, they brought on a new esthetician, Li, and I'm so glad they did! I've had two facials with Li, and she's incredible. The first one was a regular facial with derma-planing, and my skin felt so smooth afterward. The second time, she recommended adding an imaging chemical peel, which was a game-changer! This is highly important if you are non-white person who is considering professional skin treatments. I first went to Dedra for treatment in September of 2017 to help even the texture and complexion of my skin. She assessed my skin and deduced that I would see improvements in three months with regular treatments. She also worked with me to develop a specialized skin regimen. She told me which products to stop using and which ones to incorporate in my routine. Though Dedra sells PCA and Dermalogica products in her office, she never pushed any of them on me. She recommended products that I could pick up fro Target and the grocery store that were just as effective. When I felt I needed products with concentrated ingredients she advised on which products from her Dermalogica and PCA inventory would work best for my skin. Most people would try to sell you as many products as possible. Dedra informed me of all the ingredients in the products she selected for me and let me know how they interacted with each other. By December 2018, my skin drastically improved thanks to my home regimen and monthly treatments. I continue to see Dedra each month to maintain my progress and improve other areas. Dedra uses the latest and verified skin care treatments. Her workspace and equipment is meticulously cleaned and sanitized. I spend at least five minutes with Dedra reviewing my skin progress. If she believes I am ready for an advanced treatment she will advise me on how to prepare (not to shave, avoid certain creams and lotions, avoid excessive sunlight) for the whatever product or instrument she will use. You cannot ask for a better esthetician than Dedra.
