The lack of communication regarding his exit was alarming; not only were we unaware of his departure, but the office also transitioned his patients to Dr. Malinoff without any prior notice. Reluctantly, my family and I chose to stay, hoping the quality of care would remain at the high standard set by Dr. Jabaiti. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The front office staff has become increasingly rude and unprofessional. They lack transparency and have consistently failed to inform patients about significant changes. On multiple occasions, I have found myself on the phone only to have staff members hang up on me without explanation. Moreover, since Dr. Malinoff took over, I have faced numerous issues with insurance billing. Under Dr. Jabaiti's care, I never experienced any insurance denials, but now, treatments are being denied left and right. After contacting my insurance, I learned that Avra Dental was not submitting the necessary documentation for approval. Despite my persistence, the front office insisted that everything was submitted correctly. It took months of back-and-forth before they finally sent the right information, resulting in an eventual approval. The rudeness of the staff has made each interaction a struggle. We tolerated this behavior because Dr. Jabaiti was an exceptional dentist, but now it feels like the office is in complete disarray. To make matters worse, I was recently informed that they are no longer in contract with my insurance, and with appointments looming for myself and family members, this left us scrambling to find a new dentist. There was no prior notice about this change, forcing us to rush and find alternatives. When I called my insurance to clarify, they explained that Avra Dental chose to stop accepting my insurance, despite the fact that they were still in-network. After persistent emails, I finally received my dental records to facilitate the transition to a new provider. However, for a family member's treatment, they had to go through multiple temporaries, and the assistants did not do a proper job. One temporary fell off in just one day! In summary, Avra Dental has become a source of stress rather than care. Save yourself the hassle and seek a dental office that values communication and patient care.

Dr. is honest and he will go the extra mile to do the job correctly and with a realistic approach he lays out your options and will give his honest opinion. Today , without hesitation he graciously took our youngest daughter in as an emergency patient to remove a metal spacer lodged in her gum. She is not his patient regularly. However, he took care of his patients daughter today. And he doesn't typically take pediatric. Shows his kind Heart. He was like a friend to our family today and we feel like he was doing us a favor . Dr and his staff are more personable than the typical dentist office. His team is very hard working and caring staff. Our family feels very blessed to be patients of Dr. Periklis Proussaefs and we highly recommend!!!

I still visit the dentist every 6 months even though I have/had this issue. First of all Stacey is calm. If I start to get gaggy, she has me do yoga nose. It is a breathing technique that calms me down. The way that she uses that scraping utensil and the water tool are truly minimally invasive. Prior to Stacey, when the scraping part is occurring it just sounds so loud. The sound is my equivalent to nails on a chalkboard for me. It was a purely god awful sound. Stacy's technique does not come with these awful sound effects. She is calm. She makes me feel calm. She has a TV in the room that is on. It doesn't have sound, it is a way to distract one's self. I don't even need to look at it anymore. When there are chances to chat, we chat about travel. We love hearing about each other's adventures. You are probably thinking, this place cannot get any better.. Well it does. I love the office staff. As I was leaving yesterday, I shared some really great personal news. They all listened intently and cared about me. They clapped, and said they were so happy for me. I had a happy cry. I also love Dr. Liang. He also loves travelling. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I was a patient at Ventura Center for Dental Health for more than 20 years…read more Earlier this year, I learned of a serious diagnosis noted in my medical record when the office manager shared my HIPPA-protected health information spontaneously and without my consent. VCDH staff never mentioned this diagnosis nor bothered to provide appropriate treatment. Shortly before that, I happened to inquire about an unexpected, non-consensual charge to my account, and must have unintentionally said something that upset one or more of the staff members. From then on, I was treated deplorably by the staff, who demonstrated a total lack of ethics, professionalism, and common decency. For example, the office manager and patient care coordinator both engaged in surreptitious patient abandonment (highly unethical and likely illegal) by repeatedly lying about having no appointments available. I immediately suspected their dishonesty, but the office manager continued to lie when I asked if there was any issue. When I confronted the patient care coordinator after acquiring proof of their lies, the response was "I just do what I'm told."

When I explained I had been biting my tongue and my cheek, he told me "that's a soft tissue issue" and told me to go to a periodontist! From the minute he placed this bridge, I told him it was too big! It was uncomfortable and I felt like I had a wad of gum behind my front teeth, and it even flew out of my mouth at a Christmas party last year! I waited six months to see if it felt any better and when it did not, I went to another dentist for a consultation. He agreed the bridge did not fit well and even contacted Dr. Babbitt to see if he would refund my money so it could be done properly. Dr. Babbitt refused to give even a partial refund and believed his work was perfect. Now, almost one year later, I need a root canal on one of the abutment teeth because the bridge does not fit right and bacteria made its way inside. I have been in excruciating pain for two weeks now as I try to gather the money for a root canal and another bridge. Lastly, my roots were exposed and I noticed they were discolored. I was told by Dr. Babbitt this was caused by brushing too hard and that it was just discoloration. I was NEVER told that what was actually happening was that my roots were decaying due to dry mouth caused by daily use of Flonase! He even said that because you couldn't see my gums when I smile, it isn't something that needed to be fixed. Had he emphasized that my roots were decaying at an alarming rate and I would need to fix the problem sooner than later, I would have made that priority and NOT gotten the bridge that I really didn't need. Base your decision to see this dentist with whatever information you have, but beware that this could happen to you too, so choose wisely.
