Dr. Matt Wallace is over the top wonderful!! He helped change my husband's confidence!! I will be forever grateful. Hubby's teeth were wearing away on one side of his mouth. Imagine your teeth chipping away only on one side. My husband always felt self-conscious about his smile. Hubby asked Dr. Wallace what he could do about his smile. Dr. Wallace gave him all new teeth. I do not know the technical terms.. idk if they are veneers or caps or?? Hubby's teeth were shaved down to little bits. Then the new teeth were put on over the former teeth. No, that's not all!!! Here is my story. My story is about Stacy. Stacy is THE MOST AMAZING DENTAL HYGENIST that ever walked the face of the earth. She only works there on Fridays, I believe. Why is she so amazing, you ask?? I have issues. I gag a lot. I forget to breathe. Perhaps, it is being at the dentist anxiety, IDK. I always feel embarrassed during and after my visits. I still visit the dentist every 6 months even though I have/had this issue. First of all Stacey is calm. If I start to get gaggy, she has me do yoga nose. It is a breathing technique that calms me down. The way that she uses that scraping utensil and the water tool are truly minimally invasive. Prior to Stacey, when the scraping part is occurring it just sounds so loud. The sound is my equivalent to nails on a chalkboard for me. It was a purely god awful sound. Stacy's technique does not come with these awful sound effects. She is calm. She makes me feel calm. She has a TV in the room that is on. It doesn't have sound, it is a way to distract one's self. I don't even need to look at it anymore. When there are chances to chat, we chat about travel. We love hearing about each other's adventures. You are probably thinking, this place cannot get any better.. Well it does. I love the office staff. As I was leaving yesterday, I shared some really great personal news. They all listened intently and cared about me. They clapped, and said they were so happy for me. I had a happy cry. I also love Dr. Liang. He also loves travelling. That was a very lucky find for me. So far I've been to him for 2 implants, 2 crowns, and will continue to visit when more is needed. His work is top notch! He takes time to discuss all your options but isn't pushy. He's prompt, conscientious and meticulous, all while making you feel comfortable as work is being done. Just got back from my cleaning and exam. I had gone to this place called Avra Dental in Ventura where they tried to rip me off for $2,000!!! Unfortunately Dr.Wallace doesn't take my current dental insurance but I needed a second opinion because I trust him. So, turns out I didn't need any of the work the other dentist was recommending. It's so sad how the "new guys" try to rip off patients to pay for their fancy new practice. Dr. Wallace is honest, friendly, knowledgeable and all around a really down to earth person. I lost a crown on vacation, I called Dr Wallace's office and they got me in right away for an appointment. The receptionist was caring and understanding. She wanted to ensure I was seen as quickly as possible when I returned so that I did not have any issues placing my crown back in place. I was worried I may need a new crown. Dr Wallace and his team got right to work, cleaned the crown as well as worked to remove any remaining cement. The Crown fit back in place like a key in a lock. I am so happy that I found Dr. Wallace. He is very patient, honest and caring. His new office near the Government Center in Ventura, is sleek and modern. Like most people, I do not enjoy going to the dentist. I've been to many, and I never liked one enough to refer to my family or to consider "my dentist." That changed when I happened upon Dr. Wallace's office. I initially liked the fact that they were located in a no-frills strip mall in East Ventura. As I became familiar with the office, I simply appreciated the fact that the staff and doctor had a much more chill and laid back vibe than I what I was used to. In the years since I've been going there, I've had several procedures done: implants, fillings, and more. I've always been happy with the results and have not had any post-procedure issues or complications. The routine dental exams and cleanings are thorough, and the hygenist there, Desarie, is very friendly and professional. The practice has recently relocated to a bigger office near the Ventura courthouse. I was recently there, and I'm happy to report that the chill, laid-back vibe remains. My husband and I have been going to Dr. Wallace for years. As a child I had bad experiences with dentist and finding Dr.Wallace had been a godsend. Dr. Wallace and his staff are the BEST. His staff is friendly and competent. Dr. Wallace is patient, thorough and is willing to discuss with you the pros and cons for all decisions you need to make. I know most people dread the bi-annual teeth cleaning because of bad experiences with rough doctors, you will not experience that in Dr. Wallace's office. Most recently I lost half of my front tooth in an accident on a Saturday evening. I called Dr. Wallace on his after-hours line and he answered. I told him the problem and he meet me in his office straight away, took care of my tooth and I could not be happier. I was so worried that I was going to have to walk around with a huge gap in the front of my mouth, but Dr. Wallace took care of it, no problem. I cannot recommend him highly enough. read more

He calmly looked into my tearful eyes and said "Relax, I didn't even know you were gone". So I'm back with Dr. Wallace and no pain so far! METH MOUTH! He told me stories of how he fixed folks with "meth-mouth" Ewww! If he can fix teeth after that he is gifted as a dentist. EWWW GROSS! Also when I was next door a girl told me how he had saved her when her tooth came out before a job interview and she didn't have all the money yet. She told of how he took care of the problem in minutes and gave her a break, payment plans and a new look of confidence in her life. He has a lot of practical advice on teeth that will save you money. He knows all the ways to fix a tooth. He has state-of-the-art equipment and goes to classes all the time on the latest techniques. Seriously-he is your best choice. KEEP THIS SECRET!! He's a great guy, dad to like a dozen kids, and always cracking hilarious yet corny jokes so you hardly feel any pain. Dr. Wallace saved me $1300. I can't say how relived I am. Took my daughter to 'another' dentist, and they said she needed 3 crowns and lots of fillings. Even with insurance, our cost was going to be $1700! I decided to get another opinion. I took her to see Matt Wallace. He was very kind and professional, and described in detail what my daughter needed. For these teeth the other dentist said she "needed crowns for", Dr. Wallace said they can be taken care of with fillings.. No crowns necessary. And he showed me what he meant on the video screen. The estimate he gave us totaled $292! Much less than the other guy. Honest dentists are harder to find these days, so often they want to bill patients for unnecessary procedures. This office came to my rescue when my son decided to face plant and break his front tooth. Of course it happened on a Sunday afternoon. So I called first thing Monday morning. Diana offered to get my son in immediately. Once we got there he was taken back right away and Dr Wallace meticulously worked on his tooth to make it good as new. Ok so, it has been a long time since I've actually had dental work done. I had a bad experience about 10 yrs ago with a military dentist and haven't went up until 2 weeks ago. My wife was begging me to go and at least give Dr. Wallace a shot. So I caved and I did, and boy am I happy now. First stop in was a long overdue cleaning and X-rays. Surprisingly after 10yrs I only had a few cavities and my cleaning, by Desiree, was very comfortable. Little bloody, but worth it. Dr Wallace is a very down to earth guy and went through my X-rays with me and explained what he recommended. 3 small fillings and a silver filling replacement. NO PRESSURE from him. Second stop, first 2 fillings went great. Dr kept me involved and showed me EVERYTHING. Third stop, same deal, very smooth. Nice and numb, perfect. Now, my teeth are awesome! Thank you Dr Wallace and Desiree! Oh and can't forget the wonderful staff and Dental Assistant. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and informed. He has such a high level of knowledge, so I've felt comfortable discussing dental needs I've had, which have ranged from cavities up to a couple of crowns and a root canal. This review is long overdue... I moved up to Ventura five years ago and as with any move, I had to find all new medical and dental providers. I found and decided on Dr. Wallace's office after going through many yelp and other reviews through my previous insurance carrier. I am so grateful I found his office. The front office is always courteous and polite but I think what I loved the most was having my appointment at my appointment time. Don't know about you, but nothing is more attractive than when doctor and dental offices run a tight ship when it comes to appointments. I'm definitely a stickler for that. Oh and you know what else is great about Dr. Wallace's office??? No up selling. I have a confession to make, in between regular cleanings i did stray and bought a Groupon (mostly because I just wanted the professional teeth whitening)... well surprise, surprise, this other office wanted me to get a filling on something I had already discussed with Dr. Wallace and he didn't recommend (just yet.). I had been a patient until today. I have never had the same hygienist clean my teeth in the three years I went there. I always had a different dentist look at my teeth, they always seemed to be changing out. Today I went in to have a crown replaced and I was told after 20 minutes, and filling out all the same paperwork again, that he no longer accepts Blue shield insurance. Found Dr. Wallace thru Yelp and had a great experience. I'd been to another dentist who said I needed all sorts of complex treatments that would cost me thousands. Dr. Wallace pulled a tooth, gave me a deep cleaning, and that took care of it, for a small fraction of what the other dentist wanted to charge. No drama, no fear, no scolding (other dentists have been known to give me a hard time about flossing and issue dire warnings about the terrible things about to happen).
