My experience with this dentist was the worst ever. I found him to be arrogant and disrespectful. He humiliated me in front of his staff by shrugging his shoulders after I asked him what could be done about the ill fitting bridge he placed in my mouth! When I explained I had been biting my tongue and my cheek, he told me "that's a soft tissue issue" and told me to go to a periodontist! From the minute he placed this bridge, I told him it was too big! It was uncomfortable and I felt like I had a wad of gum behind my front teeth, and it even flew out of my mouth at a Christmas party last year! I waited six months to see if it felt any better and when it did not, I went to another dentist for a consultation. He agreed the bridge did not fit well and even contacted Dr. Babbitt to see if he would refund my money so it could be done properly. Dr. Babbitt refused to give even a partial refund and believed his work was perfect. Now, almost one year later, I need a root canal on one of the abutment teeth because the bridge does not fit right and bacteria made its way inside. I have been in excruciating pain for two weeks now as I try to gather the money for a root canal and another bridge. Lastly, my roots were exposed and I noticed they were discolored. I was told by Dr. Babbitt this was caused by brushing too hard and that it was just discoloration. I was NEVER told that what was actually happening was that my roots were decaying due to dry mouth caused by daily use of Flonase! He even said that because you couldn't see my gums when I smile, it isn't something that needed to be fixed. Had he emphasized that my roots were decaying at an alarming rate and I would need to fix the problem sooner than later, I would have made that priority and NOT gotten the bridge that I really didn't need. Base your decision to see this dentist with whatever information you have, but beware that this could happen to you too, so choose wisely. read more

This has been my best dental experience ever, and having to get 2 crowns, that's saying a lot. I'm a very nervous dental patient and Dr, Babbitt was great, the ENTIRE staff is as well! I had a long over due cleaning, 2 new crowns and fitted for a night guard. They have the best state of the art equipment but the most impressive was the neck pillow they offer you during your dental work. It was a game changer. It helped me so much since I'm so tense as it is when at any dentist. Truly, they are all wonderful, and genuinely caring AND do great work. My experience at this dental office was mixed. The dentist himself was quite nice. That's where my positive experience ends. The temporary crown that they provided fell out multiple times. The hygienist who provided my cleaning chastised me for my dental anxiety. But today was the clincher. I received a call in the middle of a busy workday from "Stephanie" that was nothing short of being called by a collection agency. She admitted that the office had only mailed ONE bill to me (that I haven't received) for $180, yet was practically demanding to know when to expect payment. Beyond rude, she was obnoxious. When I challenged her tacticts, she didn't apologize but defended her atrocious actions. I see no reason to ever visit this dental office when there are so many other options. read more

I NEVER thought I would give a dentist a 5 star review, but I guess there is a first time for everything. I had less than stellar experiences with dentists in the past so I was somewhat apprehensive about going in for my exam. It had been a few years since I had good dental insurance so I was sure the Doctor was going to look at my mouth and either laugh or just tell me I was a horrible person for not keeping up on my dental visits. I couldn't be more wrong. The front office staff is amazing...when I called to arrange my original appointment they were very informative about what to expect when I came in, they made me an appointment and also went to the great extent to mail me my new patient paperwork so I wouldn't have to sit there in the office filling out that annoying paperwork for 20 minutes. The office itself is completely inviting...friendly staff, modern equipment, they even have TV sets to watch while you are getting work done. What makes the office even more amazing is Dr. Babbitt himself. I have never met a doctor who seemed so concerned with the overall comfort of each individual patient. I am the type of person who really has no issues with the dentist but he went through every single procedure he was doing, how he was going to do it, and why he was doing it. Dr. Babbitt preformed a full exam on me, and had a few concerns that he wants to take care of in the future but he also explained that he would like to take care of one thing at a time. He was concerned with building a good base with my gums and teeth before worrying about anything cosmetic. When I was done with the whole experience, believe it or not I actually shook Dr. Babbitt's hand and told him it was the best experience I had ever had at a dentist office ever. I will be going next week for my first follow-up to this appointment....I actually look forward to going back. I would highly recommend Dr. Babbitt to any of my friends. :0) read more

I had to have very extensive dental work done in August and September, which included extractions, fillings, and partial dentures. I had neglected my teeth for so long because I was so frightened to go to the dentist. Finally, I realized I was actually putting my health at risk by delaying, so I forced myself to call Dr. Babbitt's office for a consultation. That was followed by "the big ones" (extractions and a partial) in August and "the smaller ones" (fillings) today. Finally, I'll have a cleaning done in a few weeks and I'll be finished. It's impossible to convey how grateful I am to Dr. Babbitt. He is a true professional, but at the same time a warm, friendly, and understanding person. He understood my anxiety and helped make it less pressing. As for the staff, they're tops when it comes to courtesy, caring, and knowledge of their fields. Ive never been a dentist hater, but genuinely this is the best place to get your teeth cleaned or fixed if needed. Babbitt is a gentleman and Laurie is a sweet heart. i always look forward to Laurie (im sorry if i spelled it wrong!!!) cleaning my teeth. her southern accent and sweet disposition is utterly calming, and anyone afraid of dentists would benefit from being her patient. Bonus, she is fluid in "equipment in the mouth talk" and some how always knows what you are trying to say when talking with all that stuff in there. She's funny too so its actually fun talk with her. I have been going to Dr. Babbitt for over 15 years now. I have referred many friends to see him and the best dental hygienist in town Laurie. Myself and my children have always had exceptional dental work done at this office, highly highly recommend we LOVE Dr. Babbitt. Although today we had a different experience, from the front office receptionist Stephanie. As I arrived with my two young boys in the waiting room, Stephanie had asked me to fill out some paperwork and had gave me masks to put on myself and my kids if we were going to be hanging out in the waiting room. I kindly accepted them and tucked them into the side of my pants and we chose to hang out outside in the sun while waiting instead. Dr. Babbitt came to invite me in and give me after care instructions for my son. When I went up to the front desk to pay, Stephanie rudely told me "well if your not going to wear the masks can I atleast have them back?". It made me feel extremely uncomfortable especially because I waited outside the entire time and because she wanted to reuse masks for other people after they were tucked into my pants. I blew off the passive aggression with "I'm sorry I didn't want to be confrontational when they were offered but I promised my kids we were done with the masks. I'd just like to quickly pay and I'll leave". She then told me she would "put a note on my file", whatever that means, and good thing shes almost retired and won't have to deal with this anymore. It was so extremely embarrassing to be talked to like this, especially in front of my children. Stephanie I hope you can find more understanding and respect for people who need to be accommodated differently. Dr. Babbitt thank you for your response. I was so upset leaving and I have never been treated like this in your office in the many years I've been seeing you. Invisalign is a crazy (kinda painful) but totally worth it experience! Dr. Babbitt and his awesome team were defiantly there for me each step of the process. Totally recommend going there. :) Started out a little scared because my teeth have always been a mess. Starting around 9 years old when I found out I wasn't going to develop one adult tooth and my teeth never stoped shifting around. But Dr. B walked me through the molds and virtual models. (Yes making the molds of your teeth is horrible but I did survive) he showed me the potential of my new smile. Next, the plastic trays that you switch out every two weeks. 2-3 days of discomfort then ur good. I recommend an Advil & maybe a shot of whisky for the first night. ;) It did help to start at night so you sleep through the tough part. Yeah... they can get gross and dirty if you don't clean them after every meal/drink but after a good soak and brushing its back to clean plastic. I did have the random case of my buttons coming off because of how my teeth were shifting, but they were always available to squeeze me in to the schedule the following day. It only took 3 minutes to reattach the buttons. With some final whitening my teeth movements were done :) The next part was dealing with the new (large) gaps in my teeth. Funny to think I paid money to make the gaps even bigger (had to make room for the new ones). With 2 caps and a bridge my smile was complete . It's absolutely crazy the transformation. It was fast and only moderately painful. TOTALLY worth it!!!! Special thank you to Stefanie and Debbie for always being supportive and helping me though everything. I don't really know how to properly convey the gratitude I have for Dr. Babbitt and the rest of his team. I'm a 28 year old who is absolutely (and, admittedly, irrationally) terrified of the dentist. I mean, I have literally been kicked out of dentist's offices as a child/teen. This fear & anxiety kept me out of a dentist's office for 10+ years. Eventually, when I could no longer stand the pain, I found myself at Johnson Dental, who informed me that I needed 2 root canals, 6 fillings, and all my wisdom teeth pulled - a diagnosis that would amount to $10k+. When I sought a second opinion at Dr. Babbitt's office, I was SHOCKED to hear that not only did I not need ANY root canals, but I only needed 2 fillings, and my wisdom teeth didn't need to go (but they could if I wanted them to!) Not only would this save me THOUSANDS of dollars, but today, I had my first filling. I was shaking and nervous, so his wonderful staff member Ari walked me through every tool, explaining how they'd be used. Dr. Babbitt made me SO comfortable, I truly felt absolutely no pain and I felt...at peace, as weird as that may sound. He was gentle, calming, talked me through everything he was doing, and checked on me multiple times to see how I was doing/if I needed anything. I cannot express enough what a difference Dr. Babbitt has made for me in the way of dental work. I'll refer everyone here moving forward. Truly a one of a kind office. The front office manager, Stephanie, is an absolute gem as well, always incredibly thorough with estimates and scheduling, and she's very knowledgable about insurance. Woohoo! As good as it gets! Ok....let's have some fun. Dr. Mark Babbitt is MY dentist! Like the ownership? A few minutes ago I chipped a front tooth eating dinner. I went to his website and sent him an e mail complete with a picture of my chipped tooth. Took it in the bathroom mirror (Isn't the digital age wonderful?) Tomorrow I will get a call from Stefanie (sp) and she will get a time for me to come in and let Dr. Babbitt do his magic on me. So I will keep you updated as we go forward.....Stay tuned. UPDATE: 6:03PM So here is the UPDATE: Got my call from Stefanie as I knew I would this morning and she was able to get me in at 9:30 AM. Got there three minutes late and was greeted with a big smile from her as I always do. The short story is I was out of there by 10:30 AM and Dr. Mark did his magic along with the very able hands of Debbie assisting him. He actually had to work on two teeth. The work as usual was splendid and superior. I feel whole again. I have no idea of what he did but I will tell you this......THIS office knows what they are doing and will get the job done. This review has been a long time coming. We've always loved Dr Babbit and his incredible staff. Top notch work and top notch service. When our kids come in they go out of their way to make the experience wonderful. They even put my sons favorite show on in the lobby before we get there. He is autistic and these little extra steps they take make us feel so welcome and somehow today we got through a complete teeth cleaning(they go at his pace and make every effort to help him through the process). I've had some extensive work done there a few years ago and Dr Babbit did great and I've been doing great since. If you're looking for wonderful people who seem to sincerely care about you and your well being and who are competent and experienced then I strongly recommend this crew. I'm finally over my fear of dentists! Dr. Babbitt at least. I used to shake and cry just sitting in the waiting room or while getting my teeth cleaned, and usually opted for nitrous and Valium. Novocaine works slowly for me and I have felt the drill too many times, so going to the dentist has always been traumatic for me. Yesterday I had an old cracked filling replaced, not a small one either, and I was completely fine. Dr. Babbitt is kind and efficient, and explains everything he is doing. I just moved to Ventura for work a few months ago. Over the weekend I had a filling crack and fall out. Dr. Babbitt and his entire staff are wonderful. They are all very caring and really nice people. I wish all dentists were as good as Dr. Babbitt. He explains everything to you while he is working to make you feel more relaxed about getting the work done, and produces excellent results with virtually no pain during procedures. If you need more extensive work, like a complicated root canal, he may refer you to a local endodontist specialist if needed to get the best care possible. After myself and my family had been going to Dr. Babbitt for many years. We had a period when we didn't go. So instead of putting us in the inactive file. I received a Certified letter from Dr. Babbitt telling me in so many words that he did not want our business anymore and after a certain date under no circumstances would he ever see us again. Well, he just blue it. I work in the health care industry and will never recommend him again. He was great when we were seen, but to receive something like we did to tell us he will never see us again. That did it. There is no way that we would ever go to him again and never will I recommend him again. It is a sad day when you can tell patients to leave and that you don't want to see them again. He must be making way to much money to be able to just get rid of patients when he sees fit. So much for being a family dentist. You suck Dr. Babbitt..... read more
