Went here our first night in Lagos as it came recommended. Huge place right on the main drag and directly across from the Marina. Had a large menu with good prices and a lot of fresh fish. A lot of the fish is sold by the kilo but they will bring over a piece and weigh it for you before you order if you ask. My wife had 200 grams of prawns and vegetables and I had the pork ribs (was a little burned out on seafood). Food came quickly and so did the house wine. Presentation as so-so but everything tasted good. The pork ribs had a good flavor but they were tough and very strange bite sizes (see picture). We liked the shrimp, even though they were smaller than we expected. Vegetables were well cooked but not particularly attractive. House wine was very good and very cheap. The whole meal cost us less than $40 euros. This place could probably seat at least 200 people and looks a bit like a German beer hall.

    Swordfish + seabass

I was super excited to try this place since it was highly recommended from different sources. We just got off our boat cruise and was near by the marina. I decided to get the swordfish while my friend got the seabass. It was a little pricey compared to other restaurants in the area. Each fish comes out with a few potatoes and that's it. My swordfish came out in filets and the first one was decent buttery flavor but the other filet was overcooked. I would think if this place specializes in seafood they would cook fish correctly. My friends seabass was pretty good. So maybe it's what I ordered. Overall I was expecting more with the food then what we got.

Whoa!!! The best squid I had. Between savory and teriyaki taste!

This is called the local ppl's canteen. Highly recommended by our agent. My huge sea bass was a bit on oily side BUT still extremely flavorful! Grilled sardines were exceptionally fresh. The squids were the thunder stealer for the night too! Huge portions and genuinely sweet home-like service by our waitress. The BEST value ever!

What a DEAL this place is. I had the cod prepared Algarve style- so cod, topped with delicious onions and olives with sauce and small delicious whole potatoes on the side. Amazing! Cod was perfect- but so were the potatoes. It was huge- and delicious. My daughter had pork belly with fries- also fabulous, and our friends had shish kabob which stole the show! I had some envy about those shish, even though my cod was perfect. They were enormous and served dramatically on a custom hanger in front of each diner who was having them. Looked amazing- and they said the meat was perfectly done. The prices were as amazing as the food. My cod was like 9 euros. Pork belly was 8 and the shish were 16, if I remember right. Go here. You won't be sorry.

Adega de Marina was one of my favorite restaurants in Lagos. The restaurant itself is a large hall that can seat hundreds of people. There is usually a wait around lunch and dinner, but the wait itself is usually only 15 minutes or so during peak hours. I always get the sea bass when I go. The fish is fresh and salted perfectly and it is cooked to order. The fish is crispy on the outside and the meat is juicy and tender. The piri piri chicken is my second favorite dish and it is nicely grilled so when you bite into it, it is juicy with a hint of spiciness. The grilled pork is decent as well. The pork belly is nice and crispy with the right amount of fat, but can be a bit on the salty side. The fries are surprisingly good; they remind me of McDonalds and we ended eating a lot more than we expected to. This restaurant is delicious, filling, and affordable. It is probably the best restaurant in the area. I highly recommend it.

Solid option in Lagos. As soon as you step in you feel like you entered a time capsule - things are simpler inside. The menu is straightforward no frills - fish, meat and some sides. The service team wizzes around you with efficiency and are on top of their game which makes for a pleasant service experience (not easy to come by sometimes in Portugal) What we ordered: - kebab tower - 3.5 stars it was good, could use a little more flavor - salmon - 5 stars my mother in law enjoyed - Ribs - 4.5 - Shrimp - 5 my father in law really enjoyed it

This place was great and perfectly fits the positive reviews posted. Igor Neves was the best server ever and had great recommendations, extremely attentive and helpful. We had perfectly grilled squid and sea bass along with the delicious clams.

We started with the family lemonade which was so refreshing and had lots of fresh citrus in it. We felt like we were at a family dinner here with how welcoming it was. We got the Sevilla style squid which was ok, the piri piri helped add flavor. The prawns were plump and flavorful in a nice sauce that we used our garlic bread to sop up the flavors. The sea bream was such a nice and light flavor. Crisp on the outside but soft and meaty inside with fries nicely seasoned and cooked. It's off the beaten path a bit on a side street but still central to town.

Cost: Definitely a little on the pricier side in comparison to the places around the area and even in the region but still worth it for the quality of the food that you're getting! We took our waiter's recommendation to add the bread to soak up the sauce from garlic shrimp... outstanding. We like the sauce in the octopus carpaccio but I think it can be improved by using larger octopus cubes instead of thin slices (of course it would no longer be "carpaccio"). Per my personal opinion, the octopus didn't add texture nor flavor to the dish. Our waiter Rubio is super friendly. He gave us recommendation for the location to see "the best sunset in the world". Even though it was a cloudy evening, it was still quite spectacular sunset view.

The chef of this establishment has an excellent vision and it is obvious he knows flavor profiles well, because the combinations made were excellent. They had a menu for Easter that included a soup that was with leeks and green apples that was something I would never think of linking together yet worked so well!! It was really surprising and impressive. They also ran out of one of their staples on the menu, which was a mushroom dish and the chef improvised and made instead a grilled celery root "steak" of a piece of celery o didn't even know was edible!! The texture and flavor was soooo good! So I learned something new too! As far as our starter, we had their house suggestion which consisted of a butter infused with orange and honey that was to die for. It also included a chicken salad that was something light but super tasty and a tuna (they call it pate-we call it salad) that my son couldn't stop eating and was begging for more! Our Main dishes were the pork belly, (which I have never had a better one anywhere in my life), my son had the black linguini with seafood (that was packed with amazing seafood) and my husband had the cod fish with mashed potatoes. My mother in law had the grilled celery root steak. Unfortunately I couldn't try, my sons because I'm allergic to shellfish, but everyone else at the table tried it and said it was amazing. I tried just my husband mashed potatoes and they were better than my own mashed potatoes and everyone that's tried my taters say they're the best-so props to the chef again!! We paired our meal with an excellent wine and the staff suggested another wine to us too for our next visit or to purchase elsewhere. We orders Fabios suggestion of the pork belly, cod and black linguini and couldn't have been happier with what was offered. The restaurant was very cosy in design and we don't feel rushed. Unfortunately, we made a reservation last minute and there was only one table available left for that night which was by the front door, which wasn't the best seating because our party of 4-two sat looking out to the restaurant and street and two at their fridge with aged meat and bar, so 2 people didn't have the best view. So I felt bad for my husband and MIL, but my husband was made aware of this when we made the reservation. What was weird was that our reservation was at 7:30-we arrived at 7:15 and left at 9:30 and the two tables that sat 4 people had a reservation sign on them by the big windows looking outside, but no one sat there the entire time we were there. I wish we could have sat there instead. Maybe next time.
