We now have the best patio in our DC neighborhood, our drainage problems are nonexistent and we are able to host gatherings very easily with tons of fun! We now have a custom gazebo and a full Trex deck that our whole family loves during the spring, summer and fall months. When it is warm in the winter, we are also out on it as well. Their structural engineers made serious mistakes, and the permit process was a nightmare--applications were submitted incorrectly multiple times, delaying everything by months. Then, Curbio changed their entire business model while we were under contract, broke the agreement, and told us they would no longer fund the project, forcing us to come up with 80% of the remaining costs ourselves. Right after that, our project managers changed multiple times, leaving the job completely leaderless. What should have been a straightforward renovation turned into months of chaos, stress, and financial strain. Curbio's marketing promises are empty; the reality is a company with no accountability, no consistency, and no integrity. If you value honesty, stability, and professionalism, avoid Curbio entirely.

Curbio is now stonewalling us, insisting this token gesture is enough. They are repeatedly reminding us that this is what was agreed to by a former Warranty manager, someone who admitted loss of control of our project IN WRITING and who also no longer works for Curbio! No one can make sense of it, not even their own remediation team! We didn't ask them to fix things that aged naturally, we asked them to correct the damage they caused. We have spent a full year sending photos and written documentation, begging for basic accountability. For an entire year they have ignored my requests for a phone call and they've buried me in email back and forth, all the while we are living with chipped and failing finishes everywhere you look. This isn't a matter of taste, it's a matter of ethics. Curbio cut corners, used unqualified and likely underpaid people, and now refuses to stand behind the work. Even after admitting fault. Even after agreeing to come back. Their "remediation" is incomplete and certainly not enough for the emotional, financial and physical damage they've caused our family. We've shown nothing but patience and persistence over 4 years in hopes of resolving this directly, but Curbio's refusal to take full responsibility has left us with no choice but to post this. If you're considering working with them, ask yourself: Do you want to spend years begging a company to fix their mistakes while they hope you just give up? We're not giving up!!!! All the work they've done has exceeded my expectations. Fernando is very knowledgeable, punctual, friendly, and respectful, and sets realistic expectations about the timeline of each project and what it will entail. As a young woman, I have had many negative experiences with other sexist contractors who assume that I lack enough knowledge in their field (electrical, plumbing, etc.) or that I have no common sense, and so they try to scam me or get away with poor quality work. It has been the opposite with Fernando. He takes the time to patiently and kindly answer every single one of my many questions, and explains things to me as many times as I need him to, always treating me like an equal. I have an old house, built in 1921, and in the decades before I owned it, it went through renovations that were not done well. This has meant that now every serious project in the house must be done carefully to ensure that it remains structurally sound and safe both in the short and long term. I only trust Fernando to do any work in the house at this point, because I regretted every other time I hired someone else. I appreciate so much that he always thinks about how to make the result even better than I asked for, and without me asking, cares enough to use his knowledge to come up with ways to make the best of this house that I love despite its limitations (e.g. building recessed shelves to maximize limited space). His prices are shockingly fair and he gives detailed invoices outlining his projected labor costs. If anything unforeseen comes up that might lead to increased costs, he immediately addresses it with you to discuss options and ensure you are comfortable with the outcome. His team cleans up after themselves and you can see that he treats his workers with respect. The projects he'd done for me include (but are not limited to): -Fixing a collapsed wall in the crawl space of my basement (it was so bad, you could see the roots of a tree from inside the house) and ensuring water could no longer leak into the house - Removing an old retaining wall and building a stunning brand new one - Replacing old floors with ceramic and vinyl ones - Building and painting a fence - Building a concrete walkway in my yard and fixing an old one - Fixing the flow of rainwater in my yard to protect the house from water damage - As well as less complex tasks like painting my interior walls And now, he is currently finishing my basement which is a very complex project given the limitations of the house, but I know it'll exceed my expectations as before. They tore off our old exterior stairs structure and siding, waterproofed the entire wall, and installed new siding and a stairs structure that is far superior to the old one. Their integrity and work quality are off the charts. The owner, Ahmad Khreshi, did thorough research before starting our well-planned project. I was impressed by his knowledge of current construction techniques and dedication to doing the job right. There were several problems that required Ahmad to think outside of the box, one being how to install siding under our existing power lines conduit which was mounted to the exterior wall at six different points. Several times, Ahmad's crew discovered water damage due to poor work by our developer. Ahmad was extremely flexible in adding repair of that damage into his work plan on top of the bid-upon work. Ahmad was kind and fair, listened to our concerns, answered our questions, kept us in the loop, worked with us on timing, and gave us a couple breaks. His crew was extremely professional and respectful, taking off their shoes when they had to come through the building and isolating interior work areas with plastic sheet dividers. When our project was completed, Ahmad send us the following. I've never worked with a contractor who followed up with an offer of help like this: "Remember, you can always reach out with any technical building related questions, in any trades.
