I have written several letters to Curbio
    Nisachol M.

Curbio's Abandonment and Poor Communication STAY AWAY I am deeply disappointed and angry with Curbio's services, as my house renovation was supposed to take 18 weeks, but after almost 8 months, the work has come to a complete standstill. The communication has been atrocious, and the manager Ashley claimed a window company are scam regarding hurricane impact windows, insisting I bear the responsibility for the loss thats Curbio made a mistake release the 2nd deposit even no permit approval . So the window company are scam Curbio and I over $48,000 . After consulting my lawyer, I've learned that I shouldn't be held accountable for windows not installed. And the reason why I hiring Curbio because I try to avoid scam and a stress but now I have more stress everyday. This situation has caused immense stress, sleepless nights, and financial damage to my rental investment property. I'm losing rental income and am forced to borrow money to complete the job myself. I cannot afford to wait any longer and I am considering legal action to resolve this nightmare. I demand a Partial refund to finish the project independently. This experience has been a significant setback, and I feel compelled to warn others about the disastrous consequences of working with Curbio. Stay away from this company to avoid similar issues.

Here is the kind of work quality you can expect when working with Curbio: https://photos.app.goo.gl/oZ1DxGM95zioLEBz5 I wish I had taken more time to read all the reviews carefully before contracting with Curbio. I also wish I had taken the time to have the contract reviewed by an attorney, who could have explained that if anything goes awry, the consumer signs away virtually all rights to take reasonable legal action. Please please please, be EXTREMELY careful when contracting with Curbio. I thought they were a good option because I was considering selling my home in the next 2-3 years, but I wanted to experience the renovations while I still lived in the home, so I agreed to pay them out of pocket at the end of the project. They sold me so many promises at the beginning and I ate it up, naively. I felt the contracted price was reasonable, especially because it came with the promise of a project manager who would handle the day-to-day project details (as a single mom working full-time in a high stress job, that was very important to me). Sadly, the entire project was a mess due to a combination of poor project management and poorly skilled workers. Here are my main regrets: - The "project manager" appeared only a handful of times throughout the project that spanned 10+ months, even though it was supposed to only take 4 months total. There were so many issues that popped up on a daily basis and I ended up having to raise red flag after red flag. When I did, I was treated like I didn't know what I was talking about, and that everything would come out high quality in the end. - The workers were young and incredibly inexperienced. They attempted to level my floors and made them much worse than they were prior. They installed flooring and tiles poorly and within 3 months time they are coming up and needing repair, or in the case of the tiles the grout is breaking and the glue is no longer sticking, so that I hear tiles moving whenever I walk on them. - The kitchen cabinets were installed poorly / unevenly, and the back splash looks awful (pictured below). This is not going to help my resale value of the home in the least. - When installing bathroom vanities, the wrong pipe connectors were used and it's caused leaking from day 1. They also did something weird to the water in the bathtub so that only hot water comes out of it now. - When installing a new railing for my stairwell, they would take cray shortcuts like cutting the iron rod if it wasn't long enough and leaving a gap (pictured below). I can understand why a homeowner who doesn't have enough money to make repairs to a home would want to use a company like Curbio, but it is so, so RISKY and you will not be empowered to resolve any issues that come up, and I promise you the new homeowners will be worse off then if you contracted with reputable professionals. You are also paying a huge surcharge by delaying payment (with inaccurate promises of project timelines and project management help) and getting far inferior work quality than you would elsewhere. In hindsight, I would have taken out a loan to get the repairs done properly, and perhaps scaled the project down where I could instead of being totally cheated by Curbio. They really diminished the value of my home in many ways and either I will need to sell it before everything falls apart even more, or I need have the work redone, essentially paying twice for work that should have been done properly the first time. Curbio's business model is focused on speed and scale, and if you try to ask them to do the work right, they will extend the price and timeline of the project and blame you. If I had opened my eyes more at the beginning and been realistic about their business model, I would have expected the lipstick on a pig approach they took... actually it's more like CVS brand lipstick on a pig that will make the pig worse off than beforehand... BUYER BEWARE. Both homeowners and anyone buying a home where Curbio has renovated are taking a huge risk investing the home.

    After

Our real estate team has done 13 projects with Curbio in the past 18 months and we can't say enough good things about what a positive experience this has been for our clients. We represent older adults who have most often lived in their homes for 40, 50, or 60+ years. Our goal is to help them get the most out of the equity they have built in their homes over many decades. Working with Curbio has allowed us to focus on our clients' needs while we let Curbio focus on the renovations that will increase the selling price of the home. Having a dedicated and highly experienced project manager with Curbio allows us to be the experts in our space, while the project manager ensures all the subcontractors are doing their jobs and is the expert in their space. A few important things to know as a real estate agent working with Curbio: you need to take responsibility for clear and consistent communication with your project manager to ensure success for your client. It is also critical that the real estate agent explains the value of Curbio to the client. There is tremendous value in professional project management, licensed and insured contractors, having access to a large pool of contractors who can show up on time and do the job well, and the ability to carry costs to the closing of the home. We do the math for our clients and we see an average of a 2X return on the project investment for our clients (often much more). We are looking forward to doing many more projects with Curbio!

H&C was not the least expensive quote I received, but they also weren't the most expensive. In my experience, the value they delivered more than justified the investment. One of the things I found particularly valuable was the project management app they use. It made it easy to manage the project from end to end, stay informed, review decisions, and keep everything organized in one place. The design phase did take some time, but it was time very well spent. Once we finalized the design, everything moved at a great pace, and the execution was smooth and well coordinated. This was actually my second project with H&C Construction this year, and I am once again very pleased with the results. The fact that I chose to work with them a second time says a lot about my confidence in their team and the quality of their work. I would highly recommend H&C Construction to anyone considering a kitchen remodel. They are professional, organized, communicative, and committed to delivering quality work--and they made what can be a stressful process feel very well managed.

Unfortunately their estimate was fully double the one we got from a different company. Worst part: charging us for things like moving the fridge AND putting it back. If we want the ice maker reconnected, it's more than $100! Insane. And our house is all electric (no gas) but they're charging us to reconnect the gas line! I can't imagine how much people overlook when choosing this company. It's too bad, too, because they were our first choice. Not anymore.

I…read morewas on the board at my previous condo for 18 years, I have been on my current condo board for eight years, and Home Perfection Contracting is the best and most professional contractor I have ever worked with. They tore off our old exterior stairs structure and siding, waterproofed the entire wall, and installed new siding and a stairs structure that is far superior to the old one. Their integrity and work quality are off the charts. The owner, Ahmad Khreshi, did thorough research before starting our well-planned project. I was impressed by his knowledge of current construction techniques and dedication to doing the job right. There were several problems that required Ahmad to think outside of the box, one being how to install siding under our existing power lines conduit which was mounted to the exterior wall at six different points. Several times, Ahmad's crew discovered water damage due to poor work by our developer. Ahmad was extremely flexible in adding repair of that damage into his work plan on top of the bid-upon work. Ahmad was kind and fair, listened to our concerns, answered our questions, kept us in the loop, worked with us on timing, and gave us a couple breaks. His crew was extremely professional and respectful, taking off their shoes when they had to come through the building and isolating interior work areas with plastic sheet dividers. When our project was completed, Ahmad send us the following.
