They have a skateboard area that is pretty decent in size and my sons never had trouble finding a spot to ride around. Oddly enough, the kids that come to this park always seem to be a lot more open to playing together with other kids more so than most other parks we've been to. Maybe it's the way the playground is designed, it brings kids together for fun more than just independent playground playing. They have swings and tennis courts too! One of our favorite parks to visit and it's always been kept clean when we go. Also close to a bit of shopping and restaurants but the park is far enough off the main roads that I don't worry about any incidents. Near nearby neighborhoods are upscale and suburban area with little to no crime.

Activities that this park is mostly geared towards is sports as there is several spots for baseball, football and other ball games. Nice walking paths here that take you to a community center nearby and a forested area with several different trails meandering through the trees. Some of these paths link ip to the BPA Trail, a walking and bicycling path.

There weren't other little kids here (but big kids out of school playing basketball) so he had the whole playground to himself, which was nice. Note: there isn't much of a parking area here. You kind of just park on the gravel at the front of the park, but nothing clear is indicated. There's really only room for 2-3 cars but there's street parking around as it's a neighborhood area. The playground is better for older kids, but my son had fun running up and down the stairs and doing the slides. It's got a fun little "zip line" type of thing attached to the playground, which is cool. There's also big kid swings and baby swings here. The park itself has a basketball court and some trails to walk behind the playground which gives you something else to do to spend more time here. It seems as if this is a hotspot for high schoolers to come hang out after school (when it's in session). There was some litter scattered in the play area, such as candy/chip wrappers, soda cans, random plastic, etc. I picked up quite a bit of it and threw it away into the trash (like a decent human being) to make it a little better for the next kid who came to play. TLDR; decent place for little kids, probably better for big kids, but does a great job to get little one's energy out on a nice day.

Parking is pretty ample and we had no issues finding a good spot. Bathrooms are pretty clean, but there was no soap in the dispensers when we were there - thankfully had sanitizer on me, though! The park has several party shelters and they were ALL booked for birthdays or graduation parties. They were all good size with a decent amount of seating for guests, but suggest bringing your own camp chairs or something similar if you know you're going to want/need to sit. The playground itself is great and my 7, 5, and 3 year old loved it. Plenty to climb on and lots of space to run. My kids especially loved the zipline setup, that also has a large seat for kids of all play abilities to use. We aren't in the area too crazy often, but we'd definitely return to this park to play!

Absolutely love this park in downtown Puyallup! We've been here probably a million times due to the…read morefarmer's market being hosted here, but we also come for the playground not on market days. The park itself is spacious and very well-maintained. There's the big playground, a splash pad (already turned on for the summer!), and the pavillion. If you've never gone to the market here (Saturdays 9am-2pm) you need to go. It's huge and Pioneer Park is the prettiest setting for it! My kids definitely love the playground but it does scare me. The structure here is SO HIGH. My toddler is a daredevil and loves to go to the top which terrifies me. They do have a smaller structure meant for toddlers that is great, but just note that if you have a child that is similar to mine, you might need to prepare for major anxiety. There is a good deal of parking nearby next to the library, but usually I get lucky with street parking not too far, too. I love the location of this park because it's so close to several coffee shops, an ice cream spot, and a few other delicious restaurants. Overall a great park to visit especially going into the summer.
