I arrived to find the parking lot open and with plenty of available spaces, which was a relief after driving past a couple times the day before and seeing the lot full. When I was leaving after walking the path(s), I found another group was arriving. The park has walking path(s), historical buildings with informational placards, and benches spread out along the walking paths. The vegetation in bloom was varied on my morning stroll and I found the quiet of the park grounds peaceful. Looking up as I neared the water, I noticed a small black, white, and red woodpecker land above eye level in a tree. The bird hopped around the tree a little bit and found a pocket in the tree to search for food in. It continued to forage in that one spot for a few minutes before looking around the same tree for another food spot.

Town Square Park in Federal Way is such a great place for families and kids. It's nice having a community park that feels welcoming for everyone. Definitely one of our favorite spots to spend time outdoors with the kids. The only downside to it is the bathroom it can get messy and gross since it's open to the public so make sure to always go with your kids and double check your surrounding for random people going in. Other than that, it's always a fun trip whenever we go there for a short playtime or family picnic. Not to mention, they do have basketball court and a place to rent if you need gatherings for parties and such.

Activities that this park is mostly geared towards is sports as there is several spots for baseball, football and other ball games. Nice walking paths here that take you to a community center nearby and a forested area with several different trails meandering through the trees. Some of these paths link ip to the BPA Trail, a walking and bicycling path.

It was a pretty small space, but decided to give it a try for a few hours. Was able to catch some fish, but it took a while longer than expected. The water was calm and serene.
