Boardwalk
Jm P.

So if you want to walk by the water and have a good view of Maury Island walking here would be a nice fit. Compared to walking Ruston way, or Gig Harbor it fails in comparison. On one hand the fencing on the walk is nice and new looking but on the other there isn't really any nice spots to walk to the water if it was low tide and relax. Opposite side of the boardwalk is the street where there is a stream of cars then several old apartment complex, old ugly broken down unused buildings and a ratchet park that barely offers any parking. I can see what the boardwalk could be and its too bad that the apartment complex and houses don't give people much to offer to enjoy such a beautiful view.

I love it here! Such a beautiful spot to walk the boardwalk, if you feel like fishing off the pier you can, they have a small coffee stand to get coffee, although when I went today it was not open. You can launch your boat, I see scuba divers all the time diving! They have a restaurant near that is Salty's.. have not been and they have little aquarium that's good for kids. And I love to come for fresh air and to be near the water.

Cute beach! There's a walkway area so you can walk down the ocean next to the water! I wish there were more areas with sand it was very limited for sitting and hanging out on the actual "beach" it was very easy to get to though. I enjoyed the time I spent here!

Pretty dope little spot to take the significant other on a stroll or walk. There's a little small park across the street for a small picnic for the family. Overall a neat place. Parking is limited so try to find it across the street or pay for parking

The dock is fun to walk out on and watch the kayakers, paddle boarders and fisherman.

Great little beach to hang out at and watch the waves, fisherman, kayakers and paddleboarders! It is apparently also a great spot for scuba divers to check out, the first time I came here 3 of them popped out of the water and walked out. There is a rental shop for kayaks and other things on the dock, and a great little aquarium to check out. Next to the dock is also a small park and playground that looks great for picnics and sunbathing. As of July 2015, the damaged boardwalk is still not repaired, apparently due to a storm last year. I'm sure when it is repaired it will be an excellent spot place to walk along. On a sunny day, like the day I was there (and around 86 degrees) the cement and sand can get much too hot for dogs to walk on, so be mindful of that if you bring your pup out mid-day, but there is a dog bowl under a faucet next to the bathrooms. I was only sad to see that there weren't other cute little shops in the area to browse, the area is mostly surrounded by neighborhoods.

This beach was not crowded. People were social distancing and moving away from crowd. We enjoyed the outdoors. Bit woot if sand so definitely keep something on your feet.

hello, im michelle and i like fine wine, the Seattle Times, and long walks on the beach. In this case, Redondo Beach! Yes, Washington has their very own Redondo! who would've thought? although its a wee smaller than the one in Cali and more on the homely-looking side of things, its a one stop destination to unwind from a typical busy day. the refreshing waters of Poverty Bay, tousling breeze combing through my hair, and the sun's spotlight sparkling through the horizon are simply the ingredients for what makes up my ideal zest for life. In general, beaches tend to make me reminisce of when I used to live in Maui. and although im away from the place of where i grew up in, there's still a little slice of that uttermost paradise right in my own back yard! Try to arrive later in the day to get free parking. Try to arrive early in the morning to watch the sunrise glimmer. And or even try to take in the smell of the fresh, boiling clams coming from next door! Granted, Redondo is not much an aquarium for our underwater inhabitants, therefore Salty's is just right there for your convenience! every time im here, every body is in a good mood; the fishermen, the joggers, couples, and families. you'd even be surprised that the children know how to behave! nope - no toddlers running around over here! im guessing that redondo's water excretes mists of the same neurological effect as painkillers? or whatever the effects may be, im instantly in a long-term phase of a "happy-go-lucky " kind of attitude. im even flashing a smile at the silly boy across from me who's blushing to the roots of his hair and that can barely stammer a reply. It is too easy for me to describe how much of a well deserved 5 stars Redondo acquires from a strict grader as myself (not really). But rest assured that if you pass by here and not look for parking, then the feeling of regret will haunt you like a sin. I mean, who doesn't like sun-kissed skin, sand between their toes and long walks on the beach??

We always run to this area from our gym! It's a really beautiful view and laid back all around! I love that there are docks to run/walk on as well as public restrooms there are also several little shops and things along the beach to get refreshments from as well! The only downfall to this beach is that there are no activities for kids such as a park or what have you also the water quality is poor! There is like oil and seaweed all over the water! So overall I would recommend Redondo for an evening stroll or just a day beach visit but I don't suggest bringing kids or dogs if you're wanting to swim or have a park!

Redondo Beach is a great beach. There are some whales, seals, and otters to see sometimes, bathrooms, benches. Although you have to pay for parking or find parking somewhere else. Would recommend.

This is a nice place to view part of the Puget sound. There is free and paid parking. You can rent kayaks here or use the boat dock for your own. They take Pay Pal and other credit cards. The board walk is sooo nice, specially if you'd like to take a stroll after dinner at the Resturant Salty's. I give this place a thumbs up.

It's okay, not great. I was really excited to stroll along the boardwalk for miles and miles, and well, I strolled for about 10 minutes before reaching the end. If you're looking for a place with scenic views and want a quick leg stretch along your way to another destination, then this is the place for you. Don't drive out of your way to visit, because it's not really worth the drive.

Been going here for YEARS now and definitely one of my favorite places to catch a sunset. Whether you're fishing on the dock or sitting on a log somewhere on the beach, nothing beats the serenity of being near the water. Free parking gets full on weekends so make sure to visit on a weekday! And it's only parallel parking so make sure you have that down (unless you plan on spending $10 to park in the parking lot.) Unfortunately they are still reconstructing the boardwalk... It's been about a year now that they've been under construction. Such a bummer because walking on the side walk just isn't the same. This is a great beach to go to if you want to avoid big crowds like Alki.

Great place for a good 2 mile walk, fresh salty air and a lot of ducks and seagulls. Pet friendly and smoke free!

We arrived at 1:00 PM and found the last parking space available at the end of the furthest parking lot area. Took our time taking a stroll to the event, where the food vendors were on the grassy area. Saw some Laotian food - Hmong Sausage with Sticky Rice, Chicken Wings, Whole Chicken, Papaya Salad, Fried Banana, also saw that they had Thai Iced Tea, Thai Iced Coffee, Lemonade flavors, Sandwiches, and Grilled Pork. We walked to the other side where they had a stage where they were having some dancing, live music and speeches. In addition, there were accessories, and clothing/apparel vendors who were lined up on the other side. First part of the Review is for the Cambodian event, which was a 4 out of 5. ------ The Park itself was easy to navigate around. Parking seemed self-explanatory, even though it was fully packed. There were clear signs of what was required of the State Park. You had to enter with a Discovery Pass or a National Park Pass at the Gate/Entrance. Walked around the beach area until the end of the trail where they had Private Property. Took some pictures and scenic videos of the water and scintillating viewpoints. It was a pretty short stroll after eating our lunch. But overall an enjoyable experience. Would like to visit again even without an event going on... Review of the Park - 4 out of 5.

Which was perfect for exploring the beach. Fun to see all the shells and things that are normally under water. Please tu of picnic areas for larger groups too. I'm sure at high tide the beach area decreases but it's all beautiful. The creek trail is short. Under two miles. Discovery pass required. Get out there! Enjoy your life! SYOY!

It's kind of fun to be able to just sit and watch the planes fly by and play a game with yourself to guess which airline it is. While a large percentage of them are Alaska airlines planes you can catch a Lufthansa, American, ANA, etc. If you're the outdoorsy type, there are a few walking paths and you can walk on the pier as well and basically stand out in the middle of the water. It's perfect for people watching. You can catch fishermen and fisherwomen, scuba divers and people in boats, runners, and people searching around for treasures down in the shells. It's really a place for most anyone to find something to keep busy with. You can just sit and relax and listen to the sound of the waves gently wash in if you like the simpler side of life. I'd say it's probably one of my favorite parks.

Do not swim in this water. Seriously. There's also a long pier, part of the marina area, where people enjoy crabbing and fishing off of. Low tide will yield several delightful sea creatures for your viewing pleasure. The park also has the benefit of a large grass area, which is used for all sorts of events during the summer months. Beyond that there's a very nicely maintained, paved trail. The over all area is a nice place to get out and enjoy the fresh air while there are a bunch of little cafes/restaurants all along to main road.

As we got closer the map had all water, hehe. What a nice spontaneous surprise, we decided to do take the Fauntleroy Ferry to Vashon Island. ( will do a review the Ferry after). Who doesn't love the Ferry?! After we got to Vashon Island, it was about a 20 min scenic drive to Point Robinson Park, So happy we are here! Keep in mind the park gates closes at dawn, I was worried about being stuck there and we arrive close to dawn. Plenty parking, very nice park with lighthouse, beach, trails and picnic area. First things first, lets look for the troll, which his name is Oscar the bird king, made by Thomas Dambo. Thomas Dambo is an artist based in Denmark, Thomas makes sculptures out of recycled materials. This sculpture is part of series of six site specific installations called Northwest trolls. I need to find the other 4 during my future visits to PNW. Wow, super cool to see and visit Oscar the troll in real life, a little scary but so interesting. Thomas is super creative and got skills. Oscar is huge in real life, hehe. We took our photos, observed the artistic skills, greeted him with Shaka, then after that we went to explore the rest of Robinson Park. Trail, beach and we finally got to the lighthouse, another reason to visit. There's a lighthouse tour during mid May-September, which I would love to learn more about.
