I was ecstatic when I realized that my favorite gift/greeting card shop would still be open for business. The gift selections are unique, and the greeting cards never fail to grab my attention. In fact, I have gained the reputation among my friends of being the go-to person for a great card if we're giving a group gift. Today, as usual, I walked in for one card, and walked out with at least 10 cards and three gifts for upcoming birthdays. I was able to find something pretty made by a local artist for my adult daughter and two gifts for my grandchildren, aged two and five. There's something for everyone and Michael always makes me feel welcome as soon as I walk in the door. The items are not outrageously priced, but everything in there is of high quality. I cannot recommend this little Long Beach treasure enough.

Babcock and Cooke came up on the list, so I called to see if they were open. It was a few minutes before 9 AM, the listed time that showed in their hours, but a gentleman answered the phone. He was so genuinely cheerful to let me know that yes they will be opening in a few minutes and that yes they had sympathy cards available. The small shop is located off the corner of Broadway and Redondo. It is nondescript with an old sign and honestly driving by it I would not have known it was there or what kind of shop it was so I'm thankful that I know it's there. Inside is super cute, tidy, and the shop holds a boatload of gift items. Walls of cards shelving filled with candles and other gift bag, stuffers and my favorite part, which I did not come in for, but ended up leaving with were yummy soaps that greet you right as you enter the door. My favorite part of the whole experience, was that when I walked in, and the shopkeeper greeted me, I had said that I'd called a while ago about the sympathy cards. He remembered our conversation and pointed me to wear on the wall. I could find them. I asked him later on if there was a post office nearby , and he said there was a mailbox across the street said that I had needed a stamp because I wanted to mail the card straight away. So, he kindly offered me a stamp and let me write the letter while I was in the shop. That was such a lovely experience, and if I'm in the area again, I will definitely come back and go gift shopping. The cards and collections were great. Also, the price was reasonable. When Richard passed I was so worried that this little shop would not continue, but thankfully it lives on. I recently swung in to get a friend a 40 Year chip and what a selection they have. Along with medallions, they have anything and everything you could possibly want or need when it comes to recovery. Whether you want gifts or official recovery tools they got you covered. This place has loads and I mean loads of fun hidden jewels. There's so much items in stock that you literally have to spend some time here. You will literally want everything that you see. The selection of clothing from all sorts of era. You have fun theme items which theres loads. Of course they can be a daily wear item. The vintage collection is top notch. All the decors throughout the stores are fun. Vintage mannequin heads, the dressing rooms doors made of old vintage refrigerator doors, they were great. You'll find spiritual items for the home, including stationary, art, crystals, incense, books, and more. After spending time browsing their many goodies, we snagged a few fun stickers, a handmade bonfire starter, a birthday card, and sage. I've found that these spiritual stores can often feel copied/pasted, but ReCircle selection feels truly unique. You can also tell that this crew has the best time together. It even has an outdoor area that could have been a backyard. When I first walked in, it felt like I was stepping back into the '70's. A lot of brown and orange hues. Once you pass the front counter on your left, you feel like you're stepping into someone's living room. There's a couch, coffee table, dial television set, and the record player is blasting '70's music from their collection of vinyl. The first room on the left sells clothes, plants, etc. The second small room next to it has a large picture of KISS plastered on the walls, between the selection of boots and jackets. If you keep walking towards the back, there's a room to your right where the record player is. After exiting that room, you walk into the main room and a large selection of vinyl for sale near the back. They sell used and new merchandise. Everything from used clothes to new jewelry, paintings, artwork, and everything in between. Like I said, there's a large outdoor patio where they sell patio furniture, pots, plants and other outdoor decoration. There is really a lot to take in, and everything is affordable. The woman working the register was super sweet and is honestly, by far the BEST service I've ever gotten in a bookstore. I didn't catch her name but she was friendly and was so informed with different books, I found myself jotting down her recommendations!
