And Chris in the kitchen is something else, hands down one of the best chefs I have had the pleasure of chatting with, and if he offered, I'd be at his table every night for dinner. Another saving grace is that the venue itself doubles as an airbnb for you and your loved ones. You rent the house for the weekend, and it has 8 bedrooms to divide amongst your bridal party. It really helped me to let loose on my day knowing that my bed was right upstairs and that the Spillian staff would handle the cleanup. They also hosted our rehearsal dinner and morning after brunch, and it lessened the load to not have to plan two separate events with different vendors. Now let's talk about the day itself! I didn't have to lift a finger. My husband and I brought along decorations and signage, and expected to have to do some organizing ourselves. But the Spillian staff were there Friday night when we were unpacking asking what everything was and where we wanted it, and it was packed back up for us by Sunday morning. On Saturday, they went to work putting everything together for us. It was beautifully orchestrated by Spillian's coordinator, Sam. We can't thank her enough for making sure that our rainy day wedding went so smoothly, we barely even noticed that we had to shift our plans within 30 minutes! Originally, the whole affair was meant to be hosted outside, but persistent rain (it is the Catskills after all) had us moving the reception indoors. They had the whole event setup outside and moved it all inside in record time. By the time photos were done everything was set for dinner. They even offer a late night bonfire if that's your thing, and thankfully we were still able to light it in the rain. Overall 35/10 Have your wedding here, stop questioning it.

You can see the years of love and care that have gone into maintaining their house and its surrounding land over generations. One of their adorable cats even hopped along with us on our tour! While we ended up going with a different event space, closer to our ceremony site, I would recommend Stonehouse Gardens to anyone looking for a unique and rustic place to host an event, particularly if you are looking to be in the natural beauty of the outdoors. Bridal party had to balance on the stairs for the ceremony. Truly a shame that about half the guests had to stand, had a limited or no view of the ceremony. The bathroom is also weird. Same bathroom for men and woman. Woman's stall had a full door but the men's had a salon style door that did not close and had no privacy. Not everyone is comfortable with that. I'd love to attend an outdoor ceremony, but the weather is unpredictable. It may be beneficial if there was a large white event tent that can be used for the rain and other outdoor events.

The chicken and roast beef were particular amazing. Not just good, but excellent. All of the sides were also tasty, and the dessert spread was pretty impressive as well. A few downsides: there is no AC in the main part of the barn, only in the bedroom suite areas for the wedding party prep. This was a September wedding, but happened to fall on a day with near-record high temps, so even with fans running, we were all pretty uncomfortable until the sun finally went down. Also, there was no sign of a full bar on the premises, nor fountain soda or beer on tap. Bottles only. But, considering that Henry Hill Farm is new on the wedding scene, maybe they plan on making these upgrades at a later date. Overall, this is a very nice venue on pretty grounds with very friendly staff, excellent service, amazing meats, and a fun country vibe. Tip for the ladies: opt for flats, wedges, or block heals... but leave the stilettos at home. The walkway from the parking lot and areas around the barn are gravel, which isn't so stiletto-friendly.

Kim and Kelly designed the most beautiful floral arrangements for the day - I am still shocked at how perfect they were. The entire staff at the barn moved like a well-oiled machine. The Captains House, The Hilltop Pavilion, The Pine Grove, and The Barn are out of a fairy tale. I can't even begin to describe how perfect and beautiful our day was. When I relive the day in my head, I wouldn't/couldn't ask for anything more from The Roxbury Barn and Estate. What a wonderful venue with the greatest staff. I'd choose this venue 1,000x over.

She wanted a very small immediate family and close friends only wedding and we could not be any happier with her choice for the venue. The Roxbury Barn setting, staff, and food were exceptional! We only had a total of 15 attendees, including the bride and groom. The mountain and luxurious green setting, clear crisp air and forest was a perfect setting for the wedding ceremony. The barn and outdoor area was extremely comfortable for the reception. Every staff member was attentive and very friendly. The food was delicious. Casper (the owner) and Kim (wedding coordinator) made sure that each guest was well taken care of. Our daughter raved about her experience planning the wedding and said that everything exceeded her expectations! We have never seen our daughter happier and so stress free. Thank you to all at Roxbury Barn & Estate that made this a very memorable occasion.

We ordered the winter tea service and started out with the tea sandwiches. They were very tasty as was the tea. Because we were so hungry we finished everything before the scones arrived. Once they arrived, they nice and warm which was a nice touch. However, the inside was still raw and doughy. I picked around it as best I could. The pianist was a nice addition. The photos and menu looked great - I had no idea they only opened a couple months ago, until our server mentioned it. You wouldn't guess it, based on the attention to detail and how smoothly everything runs. It's a lovely space. They take your coats, give you purse hooks, and have a piano player jazzing up the ambiance with mellow yet uplifting tunes. The table was set perfectly with china and all the accessories you need with tea. There is a fancy/classy, yet casual, vibe. We were excited to find out we could both pick our own teas and that we didn't have to agree on one tea service (for food). The scones and treats were the same on all, but the sandwich selection varied on the three different afternoon tea menus. I opted for the "classic", which came with coronation chicken salad, ham/cheddar/mango chutney, cucumber, smoked salmon, and egg salad sandwiches. My husband got the "teas around the world" which came with Brie/apple/honey, ham/gruyere/dijon, olive tapenade/sundried tomato, chickpea/tzatziki, and a spiced chicken sandwich. All were excellent!! And when we finished, they even offered us more if we wanted them. The teas were great! We were allowed to pick our own teas (didn't have to share) from a broad menu of teas. The owner buys direct in London to get some of the finest teas that are not available locally. I am caffeine free so opted for Marian Wright Edelman's Guardian's Grace, a fruity herbal tea that was relaxation in a teacup for me. My husband first tried the Elizabeth Cady Stanton's Strength Blend, and the also had Mary McLeod Bethune's Essence of Uplift. They were all different, but all very tasty, and perfectly brewed. It also wasn't lost on me that the teas were named after amazingly strong women throughout history, and that we were enjoying them at a woman owned business, on International Women's Day! The scones were delivered fresh out of the oven with your choice of clotted cream, jam, or lemon curd (YES to all, please!) or also butter. The pastries I believe are a rotating selection, but all were tasty bites. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, welcoming, and hospitable. It's a nice easy pace, with two hours reserved for your experience. It was a wonderful escape from reality! I really appreciate Laurie, Donjae, and Ingrid for creating the perfect experience for us today. 10/10 highly recommend. Call ahead for reservations!
