We didn't meet Garrett of Aderyn until the morning of the wedding, and that didn't present a problem. Garrett is incredibly responsible/reliable, very organized, well-prepared, talented, experienced, a clear communicator, and a good listener. Based on email exchanges and one or two phone calls, Garrett got a good feeling for what we wanted and delivered in spades. I've been to weddings where the videographers were obvious and super distracting and clunky with their lights, equipment, and filming. Besides speaking up a couple of appropriate times when they needed to collaborate with us, we barely noticed Aderyn was there, which was great because it let us focus on each other and our loved ones. Aderyn truly did a fantastic job with everything: capturing the emotional moments and the highlights, presenting the day from different angles and points of view so that it felt like a whole, multi-layered story, and top-notch post-production editing. Aderyn was able to capture and relay the intangible parts of that amazing, happy, once-in-a-lifetime day and preserve it all for us. Many friends who saw the sneak-peek trailer said it seemed like the trailer to a movie they wanted to watch. It was the highest quality. I hired Garrett from Aderyn as a VERY last-minute wedding videographer, and he really came through. I was trying to keep costs low since I squeezed this into our budget very late, but I wanted to have some kind of tricky audio stuff recorded for posterity. Garrett went out of the way to coordinate with my DJ and make sure all the systems were on track to record some slightly hard-to-capture moments. He also coordinated with my friend who is doing all the video editing work, and went out of his way to make sure his equipment and file type met her needs. Garrett was prompt, friendly, fun, and is even putting together a customized highlights clip as a bonus! He also sent me an MP3 of the song my composer friend had custom arranged, which he caught while our string trio was rehearsing -- it was a better-quality clip since you can actually hear it instead of just people clapping/yelling during the actual ceremony, so it's a really nice bonus for us to revisit. All in all, Aderyn was affordable, flexible, responsible, and showered us with little bonuses -- totally a great blend of exactly what we were looking for! Most videographers I've dealt with kind of do the same thing for weddings. They film the entire day, kind of edit it, and then add in a few cheesy graphics (Flying hands over heart, anyone?). I was doing my best to avoid this while keeping costs down and then stumbled upon Aderyn through my research. After some digging around, I found out that Garrett once worked for Edit 1 Media, which is THE videography company that wins video awards every year in Seattle Bride. However, they were 1) Overpriced and 2) Every video kind of looked the same... So enter Garrett. I shot him an email and he has to be one of the most responsive vendors I've ever worked with. I think the maximum amount of lag time that he replied was like 24 hours, and even then he'd apologize for the delay to answer my questions. I was living in Denver at the time so I sent my now husband to meet up with him (And they got to bond over their love for underground hip hop, so that was nice. Not often my husband meets someone who is personal friends with the guy in Common Market). I met him in person a month before the wedding and knew we had made the right decision since he just knew his shit. Even showed up early on the day of the wedding to film. He kind of popped in and out during the wedding; if he was getting direction from someone it wasn't me. If you're like any bride, you'll be pretty tired and really won't remember what happened (And all that you missed while you were rushing to change outfits). I was lukewarm about the idea of having video in the first place (My parents wanted it) but Garrett was so easy to work with and did such a fantastic job. Our wedding trailer was just beautiful. We opted for raw footage that we'll be editing ourselves but we know that if our attempt fails, he'd be more than happy to give us a hand. If you are hesitating and saying "Oh I don't need video, I just want pictures", then seriously, take it from me: You will be busy. You will miss things, and then it'll be too late to backtrack. Hire these people. They're awesome! My wife and I hired Aderyn Productions to capture our wedding with both still and moving pictures. Despite loving Aderyn's online portfolio much more than any other vendor we looked at, they still managed to exceed our expectations. When we watched the wedding videos of other couples on their website, the emotions they captured were very intense and personal. We knew it was possible these videos could represent their most exceptional work, but when we got our own video we had an even stronger reaction to it. It was amazing. It told a beautiful story of our perfect day. Garrett and Jill were wonderful to work with, as was their assistant Jared. They were relaxing, attentive, and helpful. They stayed out of the way but still managed to be easy to find when we needed help with something. Their website mentioned they aspire to be ninjas, but it failed to mention they are really agile ninja monkeys who climb into whatever strange places will get them the best shots. Their site reads like they're laid back and easy to deal with. They exceeded our expectations on that front as well. Their contract was the clearest and shortest we signed, and all our interactions with them went smoothly. With one of their more expensive packages and some add-ons, this did represent over 20% of our wedding budget. However, what they provided was well worth the price. We already mentioned loving the video they produced, but their photographs were amazing as well. After we had a few days to soak in all the cell phone pictures from our guests, Garrett delivered the first round of photographs. If there's a better way to see the value of their work I don't know it - it's too bad that isn't an easy thing to advertise. We had a fairly unique and very colorful wedding, and they did a great job of capturing our personalities and the bright and joyous tone we wanted the day to have. The pictures look even better than the event itself did. The reaction to our wedding photographs from our friends and family has been tremendous. I'm sure everyone gets positive feedback on their wedding photographs, so the point isn't worth belaboring, but the reaction has felt very special to us. Aderyn did a great job capturing our wedding. True to form, when we were promised 50-100 highlight photos edited quickly right after our wedding, they delivered 101 of excellent quality. When a groomsman couldn't make it due to a conflict with the birth of his firstborn son, we had him attend remotely as a robot with a Skype head. The photos were challenging since the light from the tablet was much dimmer than the light from the sun, but they took the right pictures and used their photoshop skills to ensure it looked great. Their work is amazing and we couldn't be more pleased. If you choose Aderyn we're sure you'll feel the same. read more

I hired Aderyn Productions to take photos of my family. I was worried about the light and weather, so Jill was flexible with me (and with the clouds). We had a great photo shoot. Jill made my young kids feel comfortable. They were able to be themselves with her, which made for great pictures that really captured their personalities. The results were everything I could have hoped for. There were so many great shots to choose from! I would definitely recommend them. Word must be spreading about them, because I ran into Aderyn filming and taking pictures at my cousin's wedding. I haven't seen the pictures yet, but the video they compiled was not only beautiful, it was touching. I'm impressed that they could capture the actual feeling of the moment. My videographer backed out on me 10 days prior to my wedding and thus I was in a stressful and anxious state trying to find an available, high-quality, experienced replacement. Garrett of Aderyn was a God send. He talked me through what he could offer me at such late notice and he made me feel excited about my wedding day. On the day he was a wonderful professional. Honestly, half the time I didn't even notice he was there (which is what you want really on your wedding day!). Yet when I just received my wedding trailer I was brought to tears with the subtle beauty he captured our special day. He is a detail orientated master and his work is beautiful. He worked easily and respectfully with all of my other vendors which was very appreciated. In the end, I think it was a lucky twist of fate that brought me to Aderyn (ok, I could have done with out the stress!) - but I am so very glad that Garrett filmed my wedding day!
