I walked into the adidas store on Broadway fully ready to cosplay as a World Cup superfan... you know, the kind that screams at the TV like the coach can hear me through my living room. The store itself? Massive. Clean. Feels like a shrine to sneakers and athletic greatness. You walk in and immediately feel like you should be warming up for a Champions League match instead of heading to brunch. Now let's talk World Cup gear. They definitely had World Cup apparel, but the selection felt like it was going through a mild identity crisis. Some racks were loaded with national team jerseys, scarves, and training gear--Argentina, Germany, Mexico... the usual heavy hitters. But then you'd turn a corner expecting a global soccer explosion and instead find... hoodies. Just hoodies. Regular hoodies. Like the World Cup took a lunch break. If you're hunting for a specific team or player jersey, it's a bit of a gamble. They've got solid staples, but don't expect every country, every kit, every size. It's more "greatest hits album" than full discography. The staff were friendly enough--definitely helpful if you asked--but not aggressively pushing soccer gear like it's stoppage time. Which is nice, but also... I needed someone to yell "GOOOOOAL" when I found my size. Welp I did promise my son some new Sambas since I wore his in secret most of the summer. I looked up the best place to get a new pair and was directed to this store. Hopped on the F train from Queens walked up the stairs and I was standing right out front. I walked in asked a few questions, the boy requested the sambas and we left in like 15 minutes flat with a brand new pair of sambas and a smile. They had many options, it was clean and the staff was super energetic everyone was busy. The store was also super busy but well lit and well stocked. Definitely would highly recommend 5/5. read more

Rather than a traditional retail space, it is designed as a "Stadium" concept that focuses heavily on interactive athlete experiences and New York culture. Spanning four floors and 45,000 square feet, the store feels industrial and high-energy, modeled after a high school stadium. You enter through a "tunnel" that mimics the player walk-on at a stadium. There are massive concrete stadium stands facing Fifth Avenue where visitors can sit, socialize, and watch live sports broadcasts or product demonstrations on giant screens. The fitting rooms are designed to look like high school locker rooms, complete with metal benches and "gritty" NYC-style tiling. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the sneakers that my college age daughter wanted. We tried; but they should have offered an alternative if they wanted to make a sale. read more

Adidas Flagship Store is the mother of them all to me. I thought for sure I took photos and posted them. At one time I worked in the neighborhood. I really didn't get into their clothes or athletic shoes until recent years. My daughter gives me a lot of items. When I needed new shoes last year for morning workouts I bought Adidas. The people who work at the Adidas flagship in Soho are helpful and nice. Everything else about shopping for Adidas products is the worst. The sneakers are spread all around the store on two floors, so you either have to stop by multiple scattered areas or skip looking at some sneaker styles. The sizes are consistently inconsistent--when shopping online I frequently have to return or exchange ridiculously mismarked shoes. Often when Adidas has released shoes I like, it has soon stopped carrying them so I have to find new ones (and once again deal with inconsistent sizing). The quality has degraded. All of which is to say that I'm finally giving up on Adidas, and I have no idea what's taken me so long. read more

Unfortunately, during yesterdays visit, when I was looking for myself, I realized, this location is very subpar. First off, they don't have many things for men here, which I find very odd because I believe this is their Flagship location. This place wasn't a very pleasant place to visit. They had a variety of designs, but the workers were not very friendly or helpful. In fact, when we walked in, 3-4 employees were just huddled around chatting (one of them even dancing to the music!). When we asked for a pair of shoes to try on, we waited for 10 minutes because the initial employee who asked us seemed to have forgotten and we had to ask a different employee. Back on 8/20/21 for the Ivy Park Rodeo in store release, I received excellent customer service from three associates, ROSA, LISA & YANA. Collectively, they shopped, rang and bagged my purchase. I always order online and then go in store the next day for whatever items are sold out. Even though shoppers only had a 30 min shop limit. I never felt rushed. They gave me good conversation and I really felt seen. Something I never would expect from a sneaker store. Kudos to them and the store management for a seamless Ivy Park debut!!! . Went to redeem two vouchers for sneakers from a pop up last week where I went with my son. The female associate tells me I cant redeem both together (it doesnt say one per person ANYWHERE on those vouchers) and its a little over an hour before closing. It was impossible to get him there by then as he was on Long Island. She tells me to call someone else to redeem the voucher. Spend a half hour trying to find someone. 10 minutes before closing my friend shows up and we go to get her shoes on the line. I recently joined a casual soccer league with a number of degenerate friends. As I haven't played in 7 years or so, I needed some turf shoes, a soccer ball, and the ability to run. Adidas came through on the first two. No one seems to carry the last item. This was actually one of the more fortuitous shopping experiences I've ever had. I walked over to the shoe section, and immediately spotted the only pair of turfs that I really liked. Turns out, they were the LEAST expensive ones they had. Does that ever happen? Maybe I just have cheap taste. I mean, have you met my girlfriend? We asked the nice lady if she had them in a 10. As we waited for her to grab them, I amused myself by keeping a soccer ball away from said girlfriend, whilst bumping into things and people. I appreciated that the employees displayed only minor annoyance, and didn't even scold us. The shoes fit perfectly. They also have a nice (albeit overpriced) selection of sporty clothes. I tried on a jacket; I thought I looked damn good, until my girlfriend informed me that it was a woman's jacket. I think she was just jealous, because she didn't look that good. Wow! What an amazing store too bad it's filled with a bunch of unintelligent folks who view retail at a sports store as just another mundane "job." Sometimes I feel like we should implement robots to handle these sorts of things because we would find what we come in for much easier. Now, on October 15th around 1-3pm, I do not want to knock the one gentlemen in the upstairs kids shoe department. However! By four different folks (maybe more) they could not express where things were in their store. I mean I was looking for "futbol socks" you know the classic knee high cotton comfy socks that us players love! and being accused by a guy when we confronted him they are not upstairs that I asked to look for something else. I did not want to argue so I politely said "I don't remember what I said." I was just happy to have found one of the things I was wanting and getting the heck* out of there. As I sat through 4+ people telling me upstairs, no downstairs, upstairs, how about those particular 4 do a walk through of their store and realize the socks are now displayed over by the descending escalator on the store front side adjacent to the wall on a fixture. Not to mention, all I would love is some Copa Mundial's in a 4.5/5 but Adidas does not carry anything smaller than a 6 in their stores? so it seems. But if I shop online through say Amazon* Adidas has them?? Baffling. Anyway- Customer services was really lagging and the guy who wanted to argue over what I did or did not say. He said he would keep shirts in fitting room, when I came to fitting room, they refused to let me try shirts saying someone would bring me two shirts at a time. The level of harassment and rudeness I experienced in this store I've never experienced before. I returned some cleats that tore after wearing a few times and after taking photos and sending them in was approved for the refund. I was told I would have my refund two weeks after the approval which was in September of 2018. I just spent $90 on a pair of running shoes. Wait, let me back up. I walked in, went straight upstairs, tried on 3 pairs of running shoes. I chose the pair of running shoes that I liked, boxed them up (had a difficult time choosing which pair to get because the sales guy couldn't tell me ANYTHING about any of the shoes other than what was written on the wall display), went back downstairs to pay for them. All the while SECURITY had decided to follow me upstairs and stand there to watch me closely while I chose which pair of shoes to purchase. Didn't even realize he was there watching ME SPECIFICALLY until I walked away to pay, and then HE WALKED AWAY TOO. Mind you, there was a family to the left of me trying on shoes, but they were not black. There was another guy to the right of me trying on shoes, but he was not black. However, the one black person there, me, basically got a security escort while I shopped. I really want to take these shoes back to get a refund now, I'm so tired of being treated like this. It's so disheartening. I really don't know what to say at this point. I am disturbed that this has happened, and am appalled that ADIDAS, of all places, racially profiles customers. Anthony, a kind young gentleman working at the Adidas store, went out of his way to help me find the perfect running gear for a blustery day in December. He was patient and kind and didn't once mention that the store was about to close. In fact, he AND Marlene, another kind saleswoman, encouraged me to stay and look because "they never kick anyone out." Though the stuff here is expensive (and this is the regular stuff, don't even get me started on the Stella McCartney line - which I think is adorable) but it is pretty quality and sturdy. (Quality and sturdy...hmmm...Did typing that convince YOU that the label is worth it because I still don't think I did a good enough job convincing myself). In any event, shopping in this store is certainly fun because it is expansive and sprawling and their merchandise is extensive. Anthony and Marlene just added to the fun. read more

This store is great for the athletic types. They have great gear for running, Yoga, and many other sports. the store is well stocked with the latest fashions from the manufacturer. The store is kept clean with good lighting. There are dressing rooms and bathrooms available for customers. I do not shop much for Adidas but when I do I come to this store for a great selection. I don't have much to say about this store or Adidas other then the store is exactly what you would expect from this manufacturer. (It must have been a converse outlet store that recycled old sneakers, cause the Broadway store doesn't.) I was directed towards the cashiers, where after asking if they recycle shoes I was pointed towards a bin where I could drop them off. After inquiring I was glad to find out that they accept any kind of sneakers. I dropped them off and was on my way. Although I wasn't in the market to buy any sneakers or clothes today, their staff was friendly both entering and leaving. This place is essentially the same thing as Niketown, only it's, duh, Adidas. I assume these "flagship" stores are more about brand visibility than they are about profit or sales. I mean, you can buy most of the same stuff at other sporting goods stores or online for less, so I'm guessing that these "flagship" stores were dreamed up by some MBA years ago as a way to increase brand awareness in highly visible neighborhoods. So, in that respect, this place does a better job than the truly awful Trump Tower Niketown. Yes, it's still a monument to consumerism rather than athleticism, but it's less blatant about it. I mean, you could be inside for a full five minutes or so before you realize that you're basically part of an interactive billboard being brainwashed into buying as much stripey crap as possible, whereas it only takes five seconds to realize that in Niketown. The layout of the store is less annoying, and they sometimes put up some very nice displays. For instance, during the World Cup last year, they had shoes in every country's colors on display, and they gave out World Cup schedules, which I thought was pretty clever. As expected, everything here is full retail price, and they don't carry any of the more obscure items in the product line. Still, it's less offensive than the frightening hive of branding and big business known as Niketown, so it gets one more star. read more

It's a two-floor store, but I was not impressed with what they carried. The upstairs area is mostly women and children, and the bottom floor is sportswear. Unfortunately, the day I went, the whole store smelled like spray paint. You could not get away from it. Terrible! There should have at least been a sign. This place has a shitload of stuff. The track suit selection was crazy and they had my size in all the styles. Plus, there were lots of stuff on sale.
