A great law firm is hard to find. Richard Adler and Jacob Gent are two such lawyers, and their firm, Adler Giersch, has earned its reputation as the premier personal injury practice in the Pacific Northwest. But practicing law is more than just about handling a "case," and what makes Adler Giersch extraordinary is the way they worked with me and my wife following her injury in an automobile accident. I wasn't looking for legal representation at that point. I approached Richard initially in search of just a medical referral because my wife had experienced a mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Adler Giersch has extensive experience representing clients with such injuries, and I knew that Richard must have consulted with brain specialists in the course of his practice. I hoped he could refer my wife to someone with special expertise in mTBI--someone local. Richard wasn't bothered in the least by my request. My wife's case did not involve a large claim, and there were complicating factors that made it a difficult case to take to trial. These factors were fully explored and explained to us, and the decision to achieve a settlement was a shared one. I was rear-ended by a cement truck and when the at-fault party dismissed the multiple appraisals I sent them and sent their own assessor out to value the damage to my vehicle, I knew I was in trouble. The company offered significantly less than the appraisals I received and were pushing back on coverage for the modest medical bills I incurred. It was at that point I decided to look into hiring a lawyer. Jacob Gent was highly recommended to me by my doctor who had worked with Jacob on another case in which his medical expertise was needed. My wife and I were passengers in a taxi that was rear ended on a freeway. I believed that between the insurance companies representing the taxi company , the at fault party, or our own insurance company, we would have a straightforward experience in getting the medical treatment we needed and resolution of our case. I've hired attorneys from Adler Giersch twice over the span of a half dozen years to handle accident cases (MVA) that weren't my fault. I returned the second time after they had handled my first case successfully. The attorney I used the first time had changed firms, so Steven Anglés handled my case this time. This time my claim was a bit more complicated as two different defendants & insurance companies were implicated in responsibility. Once Steve had been hired and took on the case it alleviated the unrelenting pressure I had been under from both of the defendant's attorneys. Each member of Steve's team, Heather (case manager whom I had worked with before), Elisabeth (attorney), & Sabrina (Litigation paralegal), were always immediately responsive to the myriad of questions that I had during a fairly long process of settling this claim, since neither of the two defendant's were admitting responsibility for being at fault. I initially learned about Jacob and his team (Heather and Jenny) from a massage therapist I was seeing for my car accident. In July of 2016 my wife and I were in a two car auto accident caused by the other driver. We both had medical treatments for neck and back pain.
