While searching for wineries in the Fallbrook area for a possible visit on a Saturday afternoon, Adobe Hill Winery appeared at the top of the list. We decided to follow through on the adventure, as we jumped into the car, dropped the top, and headed down a winding road toward the property. Upon arrival, I was thrilled to find the parking area was paved and the winery appeared to be new, perched atop a valley overlooking trees, vines, and green farmland. Upon entering, we were greeted by the owner and staff with friendly smiles. After a brief explanation from the owner, we selected two tasting flights and took a seat outside to enjoy the view. Flight 1: 2024 Pinot Grigio, 2023 Rose, 2021 Red Blend, 2023 Muscat. Flight 2: 2023 Teroldego (Distant cousin of Syrah), 2022 Merlot, 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2021 Red Blend. The property was rustic yet modern, resembling a family room, living room, bar, and dining room, with a spacious outdoor entertainment area for all to enjoy, featuring sofas, coffee tables with fire pits, and end tables. Other seating options included picnic tables and beach chairs, perched at different levels along the cliff overlooking the vines and valleys below. On this particular day, it was quite windy, which made the outdoor option a bit chilly. This winery has food vendors, but allows patrons to bring food for on-site consumption. Overall, the experience was nice and relaxing, with gentle music playing in the background, allowing for pleasant conversations without the bar atmosphere typically found at wineries in Temecula. The wine was nice and refreshing, as we sipped and enjoyed the prosciutto, cheese, fruit, and chips we brought along. Decided to try this spot out and I'm so glad we did. First off, it's absolutely beautiful. The space is large and open, with a variety of chairs and lounge areas that make it easy to relax and enjoy your wine. They even have cozy fire pit areas for when it starts to get chilly in the early evening. The sunset was stunning, even on a cloudy day. It's also very kid-friendly, which was a huge plus for us. Our toddler was able to run around and explore because there was so much space (but we did come at 4pm on a Sunday). The wine was excellent. We had a bottle of the 2021 cab and a 2021 red blend, and both were great choices. There was also a pizza vendor on-site, and the pizzas were amazing. Maddie took care of us and was incredibly attentive. Even though we were seated outside, she consistently came by to check on us throughout our three-hour stay, which we really appreciated and elevated our experience. The winery is a bit out there, but if you're in the area or looking for a great winery to spend a relaxing day, I highly recommend this spot. read more

This is such a cute little winery tucked away in Fallbrook. It has a more local feel, that is slow, calming. And laid back. The couple times I've been, it wasn't too busy which is a nice change from the temecula wineries that always seem to be busy with tourist. They do not serve food other than little snacks like mini charcuterie boards and nuts. Sometimes they do have a food truck on site. They all have a basket of blankets so you can set up a picnic or just lay in the grass and read while enjoying the wine. Absolutely beautiful winery! So modern, elegantly decorated, open and airy. The view is gorgeous, setting serene, and there was a wonderful breeze blowing through when I visited. This winery is a short drive from Fallbrook and is at a higher elevation with breathtaking views. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The welcome room is modern and fresh. It has an indoor bar with stools however there are also tables and nice modern chairs, keepsakes you can buy, a rest room, and what appears to be a climate controlled room with oak barrels laid down. Most outdoor seating has seat padding. Outdoor views are picturesque with grape vines, a fountain and mountains. It is casual dress and laid back. They had 2 packages for wine tasting. The first was $22 with four wines that were on the lighter side; the second was $24 for four wines on the red side. It took my friend and I about one-and-a-half hours to try each of the wines at a slow pace. The help was friendly and polite and brought additional water. They had a dj playing jazzy, contemporary music. There was evening food but we already had dinner plans. I plan to return to this establishment. Some friends invited us to this spot, and we are so glad they did, as we hadn't heard of it before. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was busy, but not too busy. The employees were all super friendly and welcoming, and we loved the laid back feel. You could dress up if you wanted, but also keep it casual. I feel like everyone fits in. We had reserved a table, and they put a cute sign with our names. One small issue was they told us to sit down and someone would come get our order. We ended up having to go back in, which wasn't a huge deal. I think there was just a miscommunication of who was supposed to come out. I loved the flight options. I wish maybe they had told us a little about each wine we ordered, but definitely not a big deal. The wine was really good though. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day." -- Frank Sinatra We saw the signs for wine tasting on a previous hike at the Santa Margarita River trail, so after another dusty and hot hike with a diminishing river, we decided on the spur of the moment to come on over here. And we are so glad we did!! It's a few minutes drive past the trail head, gorgeous property with lovely views. It's only been open for a short time, the vines are very young and all of the wines are super approachable and quaffable. I'm not a huge Temecula wine fan (20 minutes away with no traffic) but I actually enjoyed these wines and the price points are much better. You all getting weekend drunk and buying $100 Temecula Tannants are bonkers ;-) The ambiance here is classy and chill. Less serious than Napa, not as crowded with the drunk groups as Temecula. Service was awesome as they brought us our basket and two tastings outside where we sat under a tree with a view of the vineyard, pond and fountain. We had two different tastings with the favorites being the rose and Cabernet. Picnic basket had a nice selection of meat, cheeses, honey and a food truck (Buddy's Pizza) was there too with an outstanding pepperoni pizza. We've been wanting to visit Adobe Hill for some time after discovering them on Instagram. My wife and I (and three toddlers) arrived and were greeted with a warm welcome by Maddie. We weren't sure where we could hang out and Maddie walked around the counter to give us an introduction and show us the area by the pond. We found a great spot under a tree where we relaxed all afternoon while our girls played. When we ordered wine, Maddie was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed our selections. This is a must stop for anyone in san diego who would love to experience a wine tasting - whether you are an expert or not this is an amazing winery with pleasantly surprising wine selection for a young winery. The Muscat is my husbands favorite while I love spicing it up every time I go there. While I am not a wine expert myself we have taken others who are much more knowledgable and more wine snobs than us and they were very pleasantly surprised and delighted by the wines they tasted. And the price is incredibly reasonable! The environment and space is beautiful! Would you like to stay cozy in a more indoor setting with still a gorgeous view? you got it. Would you like to sit outside with a blanket under beautiful trees on a grassy hill? you got it too! The whole tasting room and area is gorgeous and offers great choices for sitting a table, to lounging on a couch to chatting around a bar. THE VIEW IS UNBEATABLE! This is one of my favorite parts about the winery - the view is absolutely incredible. There are few wineries that could beat it. The service is amazing - you will often see the owner Vickie popping around. She is very knowledgable and lovely to talk to. We often also see the same three girls working at the counter and all of them are incredibly friendly and provide great service. We are greeted with a smile every time we are there and the servers are clearly treated well. Note this is a more laidback ambiance - if you are expecting butler level waitressing go somewhere else. I really prefer a wine experience to be this way but to each their own - my husband and i love it so much so we joined the wine club. This has become my new favorite place to take my friends and family for fun. I drive all the way from Orange County at least once a month to come visit. I even joined their wine club so that I can get special perks and have their wines shipped to me on a quarterly basis. My favorites are the Muscat and the Fusionne (red blend) The owner, Vickie is so hospitable and is always so sweet. The tasting room employees, Brooke, Echo, and Maddy always make us feel so welcomed and take time to share about the wines they're pouring for us. The property is absolutely stunning and has one of the prettiest views I have ever seen. I highly recommend staying for the sunset! Always an Oasis got my plate again and this time I got the basket I figured even though it's a lot I can just take the rest of it home! Everything was so good! It wasn't hastily thrown together it's actually super cute and the cheeses are really nice! It did not take away from the flavor of the wine either which is really important! Sometimes the boards can be overly flavorful or too sweet and this was a really nice addition to the wine. I love this place it's amazing and they're open until 730! That was great because I like to get going and have wine after 5 PM usually most places are only open until 6pm! So this place is perfect to grab a little bit of wine have a nice relaxing time with some really good music and then I head into Fallbrook to go to the theater or there's a really good Italian and a really good barbecue spot. Perfect way to spend the weekend! My girlfriend and I took a chance on this gem of a winery with just 5 (all 5 star) reviews. We are so glad we did! They've only been pouring since October and already offer such an inviting space. We met Gordon and his daughter in law Camry. They were so welcoming and attentive, however the star of the show was Lila the puppo (pictured). We had a lovely afternoon, sitting on blankets in the grass, sipping wine with a gorgeous view. We ended up purchasing bottles of the sav blanc and rose, but the reds were also excellent.
