This auto museum is absolutely fantastic! Words cannot describe how cool the property and the car collection are. The pictures don't even do it justice. I've wanted to visit this location since before Covid but never got around to it. Finally this year a friend and I were trying to visit as many museums as possible during San Diego Museum Month (February) and when I told him about it he was totally in. I knew from the website that the collection was large but didn't know what to expect. We walked in and bought tickets. The gentleman at the counter was helpful and explained how the museum and the wine tasting worked. He led us over the entrance to the cars and told us about the main building and then told us how to get to the two outbuildings that were part of the tour. The main building has the wine tasting, seating, kitchen, and bathroom. There were some cool artifacts in the building. We were both so impressed by what we saw. THEN...we walked down the path to the garage and our minds were blown! BLOWN! There was some seriously spectacular history in that garage. The cars and the collected fridges, radios, toys, and other items housed there. When we walked up to the third building we were once again stunned at the beauty of the cars and bikes and such there. I would never be able to pick out a favourite because there were just too many treasures. I've been to the museum three times this year because once I mention it to someone they insist on checking it out and I would never say no. The wine tasting was a lot of fun too. They have different types seasonally and all of the wine we drank was pretty good. I bought a couple of bottles. You can bring your own snacks and nibbles to go with your wine. Go. Visit. Check out. NOT JUST CARS An interesting collection of mostly convertible cars and other Americana and collectibles (i.e. Vintage TVs, appliances, radios, Barbie dolls, etc.), housed in three separate structures in a winery setting. PRICE TO ENTER When you first enter, you will be in a gift shop/entry area where you pay at the desk. The cost was $14 per adult in April 2026. (Discounts offered for seniors, military and kids). IT NEEDS A REFRESH Overall, I felt the museum needed a bit of a refresh and rebrand. It's tired, dated and a little clumsy and cluttered. The items in the gift shop look like they've been there for decades. There are odd pieces of furniture lying around nestled between the cars along with cardboard stand-ups of Marilyin Monroe and dated photographs. The descriptive signage next to the cars are on the floor and wordy, hard to read. There was dust, dirt and cobwebs in display cabinets. It felt like someone had collected all this stuff, put it on display and then forgot about it. The cars and their paintwork were in great condition and paintwork was dust-free and shiny. It would have been nice to have learned about the owner or the story behind the collection, but we weren't given any brochures and there weren't any docents to ask. BARBIE COLLECTION In one building there's a small room with a large collection of boxed Barbie dolls from years past with a few Barbie cars as well. Again, it all looked a little tired and forgotten. WINE BY THE GLASS OR TASTING We didn't stick around for wine or wine tasting, but there were people there enjoying the patio and live music. There's a refrigerator with charcuterie and cold drinks available for purchase. The vineyards were pretty with roses and benches dotted around. Picnic tables are available out front. Their web site is one page, not terribly informative and again, could do with an update and refresh. Parking is complimentary. This was such a charming little spot in Escondido. We have been wanting to come here for a while and finally made it. We ended up getting the Valentine's Day flight, it was easy to drink, I really enjoyed the champagne and they provided chocolate for the end dessert wine. The staff there was so incredibly sweet and friendly, that alone made for such a great experience. We didn't have an opportunity to check out the museum or the food, but they had a good variety of snacks and drinks as well as beer alternatives in the cooler for the non wine drinkers. It was family friendly and there was live music which added a nice touch. Overall it was a great experience even though we weren't there long. We will for sure be back to experience the bread and museum. read more

If you're staying at the resort, this place is a short 5-minute drive away, definitely worth a visit! Vintage and car enthusiasts will love it, though wine connoisseurs might be a bit disappointed. Out of the six wines we sampled, only one really stood out. We all thought the peach sparkling grape wine was the best, and we ended up buying a few bottles to support the local business. The service was friendly overall, and we enjoyed the outdoor live music in the garden when we visited around 5 pm. The ambiance was lovely, but be sure to bring a light jacket as it gets chilly in the valley once the sun sets. All in all, a fun visit! Deer Park Winery and Auto Museum has an incredible collection of vintage convertibles and antiques. Your ticket includes three buildings with signs explaining the cars' history. We spent about an hour and a half exploring the exhibits and vineyards. They also have a winery. We didn't do a tasting but took home a bottle of chardonnay to enjoy later. Waiting to check in to the Hyatt Club at the Welks, we decided to check out Deer Park Winery and Automobile Museum. We were so happy that we did. Especially since it was right down the street from where we were staying. In the building off of the parking lot there are some very kind employees that you pay for the museum tour and they explain how to see all of the automobiles and other vintage artifacts on the grounds. There are several vehicles that are quite spectacular in the first building along with a nice clean bathroom. You then walk down a path that leads through the vineyard to another big hangar type room. In that room there are many, many vehicles- all of them absolutely gorgeous. There were also lots and lots of items from back in the day --everything from shampoo bottles with Farrah Fawcett on them --to old typewriters, washing machines, etc. You then go up to another room on the hill where they have several more beautiful vehicles. There is also a Barbie surprise in that building. After the tour, we decided to do a wine tasting, which was a flight of five different whites or five different reds. They have a beautiful outdoor patio to enjoy the tasting with a nice breeze. For every bottle of wine you purchase you get to deduct the price you paid for the tasting. (I believe.) It is a great little pitstop adventure. It would be a nice date place. read more

Came here during my in-laws visit. This is an unsuspecting place...totally easy to miss if you're not paying attention. Bigger than expected with so much to see. My father in law loved it as he is a vintage car lover. There are a couple of buildings to visit so plan an hour or two to see all that this place offers. Before we set off on our walking tour we did a sampling of their wine flights. We sat outside while we sipped...took a little while to finish...my in-laws hate wasting lol. I wasn't a fan of their wine but our experience didn't take away from the cool things to see here. People working here were friendly and we never felt rushed while walking the grounds and thru the buildings. Come for the car museum and not necessarily the wine. I've been wanting to visit this winery and museum forever, and Deer Park did not disappoint. We came on a beautiful, sunny, California day. We were greeted by some friendly workers. We bought 2 admissions for the car museum, it was only $14 person and the tour is at your own pace and takes up to an hour, so worth it. I was overwhelmed with the beautiful cars and nostalgia in one location. I'm in love with this place. We bought a wine flight option and some charcuterie. I wish I tried the fresh baked bread they offer, next time. The wine flight was all different and delicious! I can attest to why it is award winning. My sister and brother-in-law from Murrieta and I visited the museum yesterday. Great display of mostly American-built cars and an even better display of vintage radios, TVs, and appliances. We were impressed with the selection of household items dating back to our childhood. In addition, the staff were very friendly and answered all of our questions. The weather was perfect as well. The only criticism we had was the difficulty in safely exiting the museum onto Champagne. If you turn right or left out of the driveway, there is a blind spot to the left after about 100 feet where the trees block the view of any oncoming traffic coming down the hill at 50+ mph. We will probably be back one day to have lunch on the beautiful grounds, but now that we know about the safety issue exiting the museum and winery, we'll mention it to our friends who will most likely visit one day. If at all possible, I'd recommend cutting back the trees to the south of your driveway as far as your property extends so that there is a clear view of the oncoming traffic. The prices are good, especially with their bottle/tasting deals, the snacks and bread are delicious, and the service is very good! The museum ticket is about $15 but you see sooo many cars and can walk around the vineyard. Lots of great photo opportunity's here! I enjoyed learning some American auto history and walking the grounds. Props for all the written information (although it was a bit low to the ground). Saw some cool rides and even old radios, refigerators and other retro items. Somehow we meandered around to the backside of a building and saw a beat up tricycle from the Philippines. Rad find! The other guests were all polite and seemed to be enjoying themselves. I thought it was a good hour or so spent. I would caution those who like wine to AVOID their alcoholic offerings as I strongly suspect they were several years past prime. I live at Champagne Village, next door. A couple years ago there was a fire on the side of the road. I got in my golf court to direct traffic and took a detour to the Winery to check it out. They had cheese, beef jerky, crackers, and of course wine!!! They have beautiful spots for picnics and weddings and of course thee old cars. Pretty cool little spot to visit if you're around the Temecula area. We were staying at the Welk and this place was next door so we stopped by to take a look. We didn't do any wine tasting but we did check out the museum. They have a large collection of cars housed in three buildings. Honestly I wasn't expecting too much from this visit but because my son loves cars we thought he would enjoy this. At the end, the parents enjoyed this way more than the kid haha. I didn't realize cars back then were so large. We spent about 45 min walking around. A car enthusiast could definitely spend way more time here but having a toddler means everything has to be quick. The person in the front who helped us out was also very nice and welcoming. Overall, this is worth a visit if you're in the area. read more
