If you're staying at the resort, this place is a short 5-minute drive away, definitely worth a visit! Vintage and car enthusiasts will love it, though wine connoisseurs might be a bit disappointed. Out of the six wines we sampled, only one really stood out. We all thought the peach sparkling grape wine was the best, and we ended up buying a few bottles to support the local business. The service was friendly overall, and we enjoyed the outdoor live music in the garden when we visited around 5 pm. The ambiance was lovely, but be sure to bring a light jacket as it gets chilly in the valley once the sun sets. All in all, a fun visit! FYI, doing the wine tasting earns you a discount on wine purchases and the car museum tour. Both were enjoyable!

Wine tasting paired with bread that's meant to be fresh out of the oven; though it seemed more reheated to achieve a warm, toasty texture. The staff were very welcoming and inviting, adding to the overall charm of the place. If you're a classic car enthusiast, it's definitely worth a visit; the antique touches and car displays give the space a unique character. Overall, a charming and memorable spot.

Surprisingly interesting and enough to look at and explore for the admission price. It's like a walk back into time and a great history lesson, worth checking out if you're in the area. They also have wine flight samplers but didn't partake in it this visit. The folks were nice and the whole place just takes an hour or slightly more if you're really reading everything. Not huge but amazing car collection that you may not see anywhere .

Very interesting car museum and winery next to Welk in Escondido. The man liked his convertibles! Lotsa 40-60s convertibles in 3 buildings. Many old radios and era items like pedal cars. Bought a bottle of their Chardonnay which was good. Napa grapes. Service was good. Ambiance was a Time Machine. Recommended stop in Escondido

Such a hidden gem! We were drawn here by the auto museum but the wine tasting was stellar as well! Jorge and Tyler took amazing care of us and they were both so knowledgeable. :)

What an amazingly beautiful location and a great place to spend time just relaxing, enjoying great wine, phenomenal auto museum and the kindest support staff you will ever meet. It's worth the stop to just relax and enjoy the scenery.

    Beautiful serene fountains!

Went on Easter Sunday and they had a lovely musician playing outdoors and they provided food, free of charge for the special day!! The staff were so welcoming! The wine flight both red and white had such great selections! Perfect for a mellow and peaceful winery experience

This is a hidden gem, magical type of place where you find yourself on a beautiful walk to three different buildings that tour like a museum. Beautiful displays of rare restored cars, highlighted among priceless vintage Americana . Afterward, relax in the unique bar/tasting room that feels like a Midwest Supper Club crossed with a King's Parlor. Just cool in its own way and there's not another place like it in Southern California. It feels like an adventure here.

The ambiance is tranquil and relaxing. The car Museum is self guided and also very pleasant. You walk to the different museum garages through the vineyard taking in all of the natural beauty of Escondido. Their wine samplers were very good topped off with chocolate samples as well. The service was great. Highly recommend this as one of your stops in Escondido CA.

Waiting to check in to the Hyatt Club at the Welks, we decided to check out Deer Park Winery and Automobile Museum. We were so happy that we did. Especially since it was right down the street from where we were staying. In the building off of the parking lot there are some very kind employees that you pay for the museum tour and they explain how to see all of the automobiles and other vintage artifacts on the grounds. There are several vehicles that are quite spectacular in the first building along with a nice clean bathroom. You then walk down a path that leads through the vineyard to another big hangar type room. In that room there are many, many vehicles- all of them absolutely gorgeous. There were also lots and lots of items from back in the day --everything from shampoo bottles with Farrah Fawcett on them --to old typewriters, washing machines, etc. You then go up to another room on the hill where they have several more beautiful vehicles. There is also a Barbie surprise in that building. After the tour, we decided to do a wine tasting, which was a flight of five different whites or five different reds. They have a beautiful outdoor patio to enjoy the tasting with a nice breeze. For every bottle of wine you purchase you get to deduct the price you paid for the tasting. (I believe.) It is a great little pitstop adventure. It would be a nice date place.

Came here during my in-laws visit. This is an unsuspecting place...totally easy to miss if you're not paying attention. Bigger than expected with so much to see. My father in law loved it as he is a vintage car lover. There are a couple of buildings to visit so plan an hour or two to see all that this place offers. Before we set off on our walking tour we did a sampling of their wine flights. We sat outside while we sipped...took a little while to finish...my in-laws hate wasting lol. I wasn't a fan of their wine but our experience didn't take away from the cool things to see here. People working here were friendly and we never felt rushed while walking the grounds and thru the buildings. Come for the car museum and not necessarily the wine. I think it's pretty cool to have something like this in the area to visit.

I've been wanting to visit this winery and museum forever, and Deer Park did not disappoint. We came on a beautiful, sunny, California day. We were greeted by some friendly workers. We bought 2 admissions for the car museum, it was only $14 person and the tour is at your own pace and takes up to an hour, so worth it. I was overwhelmed with the beautiful cars and nostalgia in one location. I'm in love with this place. We bought a wine flight option and some charcuterie. I wish I tried the fresh baked bread they offer, next time. The wine flight was all different and delicious! I can attest to why it is award winning. The grounds are beautiful, perfect place to bring your honey, family, and friends! Deer Park is truly an award winning experience. We will be back! Thank you for making my weekend, Deer Park!

Can't say enough good things about this winery, my favorite local one! The prices are good, especially with their bottle/tasting deals, the snacks and bread are delicious, and the service is very good! The museum ticket is about $15 but you see sooo many cars and can walk around the vineyard. Lots of great photo opportunity's here! Have been multiple times and recommend to both wine and car lovers!

How much does it cost to browse the museum?

On March 8, 2025, their website says Ages 10-59 is $14, Ages 60+ and Military is $12, Age 9 and under free. Reservations not needed. I might check it out tomorrow.

Is there a working website? Link provided doesn't work.

I saw a review that there is no restroom and another about a disgusting restroom. What is the bathroom situation here?

There are restrooms, my wife, sister in law and mother in law used them and none complained

I got here at 7:15 pm with the intention of leaving at 8:00 pm as I understand that's their closing time. Server told us they closed at 8pm, but patrons could stay up to 8:30pm. She stated she doesn't understand why "sunset is advertised online" when they are closed during summer sunset time. She seemed a bit annoyed at us, which I understood as closing time was happening soon. We left before other patrons did, prior to 8:30pm. I had no issue with that, my issue was with the way she spoke to my partner. As we were closing out she said we could not get a new glass, but could get topped off. My boyfriend asked if she could top off his glass, and she said something along the lines of "look at you using a new vocab word, you were paying attention to what I said". I'm not one who gets offended easily, but that comment came across as patronizing to me. Perhaps that wasn't her intention, but it was how it was perceived. Such a shame. I'd love to continue coming back, I just hope future interactions are more welcoming.

There are two parking lots that we saw, one closer to the bottom which was gravel but would require a walk up two flights of stairs, or there's a lot closer to the tasting room (paved) but is more limited. We were able to snag a spot up at the top luckily. They have a two sample limit & then you can buy drinks by the bottle or glass. The day we went they were having a 25% off bottle sale. There was only one employee we saw during the entirety of our visit but he was super friendly. We ordered a bottle, the charcuterie platter and a pizza. The charcuterie board is refrigerated and they provide a bag of crackers as well. We went with the veggie pizza & it took maybe 20 minutes to come out and was absolutely delicious. The grounds themselves are absolutely gorgeous. There are 3 covered areas to sit at up top with plenty of seating. Down the first flight of stairs has a fish pond and some beautiful areas to walk around. I'm not sure if that area was where they do weddings as there was also a spot across the way with a dais, but we didn't make it over there. The wine was delicious! We tried two of the whites and the sweet rosé. I'm not normally a rosé fan, but it was my favorite wine I had there. Overall we had a really relaxing time with beautiful views. I highly recommend checking out Sunshine Mountain Vineyard.

It was the perfect way to sample their wines while enjoying the scenery. We also ordered two pizzas: the Sunshine Cheese Delight and the Sunshine Meat Lover. Both were good and hit the spot. We added a large bag of Stellar Pretzel to share, and for dessert (because I absolutely have a sweet tooth), we tried the Sunshine Double Chocolate Cake and Tiramisu. I prefer sweeter wines and ordered the Rosa and Riesling , both were great and exactly what I was hoping for. A couple things to note: I had read in other reviews that there were servers, but when we visited, we ordered inside, were given a buzzer, and picked up our food ourselves. It was also pretty cold outside, and it took some time for the staff to turn on the warmers. We came on a Sunday and learned that live music starts at 3 PM. My husband and I definitely plan to come back for a date when there's live music playing. We were able to park near the top by the tasting room, which was convenient. There's also seating below near a beautiful waterfall and koi pond , it's a bit of a walk down (and back up). Overall, such a scenic spot with good food, sweet wine options, and a relaxing atmosphere. We'll be back!
