I've been coming to get my haircut with this company since they were Jean Madeline in the Plymouth Meeting mall....Shira who I love and adore was always the only one I would go to for my haircuts --I was desperate for a cut and she wasn't in the salon that day....should've taken that as a sign and waited for a time with her. I called on the phone and asked if they could do a walk-in, they said yes, and I went in. Immediately the vibe of the salon felt off, just very cold and not friendly...which felt very much out of the norm based on all of my other experiences. I sat in the chair and had my consult with my stylist...she seemed nice and knowledgeable, which was a relief. Overall, the consult felt very rushed and I wasn't exactly clear as to whether or not she really heard what I was asking for. Then I went back to get my hair washed...clearly no skill or experience required, not that there's really much needed anyway. -But it was impressive how bad it could be...water dripping/spraying all down my face and in my ears during my wash, shampoo in my ears, etc....the upside was that the water was a perfect temperature and since she shampooed my hair a total three times, I felt more than clean. Back to the chair...clearly I came at an undesirable time, because my stylist and the girl who washed my hair were anxious to place their chipotle order--which is all they could think about while beginning my cut...not exactly the best feeling having your hair snipped off while the stylist is distracted thinking about her lunch. Moving forward, I just felt that there was very much "mean girl" vibes with the two of them, especially when they were openly talking negatively about a client who hadn't even left the building yet. --I could only imagine what they would say about me...just unprofessional in the workplace and very much different from how I remember this salon running. My stylist did a "dry cut", which I was initially worried about because I had never had that done before...but the results came out very nice despite my worries. I would still return to the salon in the future, but only in the hands of Shira. read more

Went to see Melanie for color. Really convenient that they are open on Sunday's starting at 10:30am! Location is very easy to find and it's bright and clean inside with cute decor and fun music on. Melanie did a great job with my balayage. I hadn't had it done for about 8 months so it was definitely time to clean my color up and she listened to exactly what I was looking for and had some suggestions of her own. It turned out great! Worst manager ( Ms Heather) and front desk staffs . My review s not visible so doing it for the second time . I get promotional offers every month and when I tried to book a appointment based on that the front desk was very rude and told me I can't prevail that offer cz I just had hair coloring this march . When I tried to contact the manager she mocked me I have multiple prof in different number . All I use is the same number I use to call and book . They just send random promotions then they say it can't be applied . When I call and book an appointment book in that profile linked to that phone number as simple as that . Many freelancers are working part time and doesn't even know what they r doing . No one will remember which prof name you gave when they come to salon for once a year or once in two years . Learn to respect customers and we are not getting free service here . Stop sending promotional message unnecessarily. Learn to embrace diversity and treat people well . read more

I went to this salon today and was very impressed with all the arrangements that the staff had made to keep the clients and staff protected. Each staff member that provided a service to me were masked and all of them were doing their part in keeping with the Covid-19 guidelines. I'm in a high risk group and I always felt safe here. I am a recovering breast cancer patient who met with HORRIBLE service here by a passive aggressive colorist who was 45 minutes late to her appointment, rushed through the consultation (she simply asked: do you want the same as you had?) and then proceeded to RUIN my 18 month's worth of hair growth by giving me platinum blonde highlights instead of caramel. I've had highlights this light in the past and have always had to cut them out because they make my hair too brittle. But now there's it much to cut and I am so sad that I spent $200 for something that actually is the last thing in the world that I would ever want... HORRIBLE experience and HORRIBLE follow up by an assistant manager who was full of excuses masquerading as "apologies." read more

This place is the best! I moved to Philadelphia in March, and was worried about finding a good hair place after my hair experiencing breakage the last couple of years. My hair lady in Charlotte told me "find an Aveda salon since they have high standards for color, and stick with the same person to maintain the good color." Best advice! I found Adolf Biecker since it was the only Aveda salon in Philadelphia (or at least the only one I saw).. I followed their page on IG and that's how I found Ava. Ava did my highlights and she nailed the color I wanted! Alicia did my cut, and it was exactly what I asked for! Adolf Biecker is taking every precaution during COVID-19. Additionally, this place knows their stuff and educated me on why my hair kept breaking off on the bottoms. I love how they have color specialists and stylists, and I was able to have both.
