As a social worker, we felt like she was willing to answer all questions regardless of how silly they were and she never hesitated to give her honest opinion. While we were in TX, Yolanda took very good care of us and provided us updates throughout the paperwork process. My wife and I can't recommend Adoption Alliance enough. Not only did the agency place us with our wonderful daughter, but our every dealing with them has been marked by kindness, professionalism and plenty of communication. We first heard about Adoption Alliance from a local social worker here in New York and then we followed up by talking to a local family who had adopted through them and speaking with Stacie Wiederin, their head of client services. We had looked at some of the New York-based agencies and felt that they were either factories where we would just be a number to them or they were so small and inefficient that we'd never get placed. Adoption Alliance always made us feel like we were part of the process. We applied in January 2018 and, after conducting the various background checks and home study that every agency requires, we became parents in waiting by April. Though we were in New York, the agency has a local social worker they use for the home visits and we never felt like we were too distant from the people to get our questions answered. At that time, we received new birth-mother profiles a few times a month and were able to throw our hat in the ring for those that felt right to us. Then the birth mother sees the profiles of all who applied and makes her choice. There's no seniority so you could be chosen right away or it could take a little while. In our case, it took about 10 months, which is less than half of the 24 month+ wait period we were quoted by a major agency here in New York. Everyone on the staff has not only been wonderful to us, but we know that they also do a ton to help the birth mothers. The Adoption Alliance then gave us two different prices, the final one being over $10K. The refused to provide an accounting for the funds and we were finally awarded a partial refund plus court costs from the Las Vegas Justice Court. We searched for a long time to find an agency that was affordable, honest, and that was having success in matching newborns with parents in waiting. I cannot recommend them highly enough- we only waited for 8 weeks before we were matched with a beautiful newborn baby. Texas Family Code 162.006 mandates that adoption agencies provide nonidentifying information to adult adoptees. When adult adoptees called they were told the agency did not provide information and to sign up with the texas mutual consent registry. When I myself called, I spoke with Karen (agency refuses to tell me her last name) and then escalated to Donna (refuses to tell me her last name) The statements were that they give no information at all to adult adoptees per agency policy. Received the directors email and sent Justin Johnson an email and replied that there was a misunderstanding between the adoptee and the agency. My replies back to him asking for the last names of the employees have been unanswered. There was no miscommunication. They flat out stated the agency did not provide nonid to adult adoptees. read more

We were referred to this company from our adoption agency in California, not knowing anything about them or having a lot of choices to chose from. I will say, our Social Worker and her assistant were nice, helpful, and did do a decent job of helping. However, the whole experience was bad, unprofessional, and inappropriate at times. First of all, our social worker never even met the birthing mother and after the birth, never was there to help facilitate the adoption or had a game plan after the baby was born. We were there, on our own, which was not good and a failed adoption happened. Here are some other complaints- it took over 3 weeks for them to get the birthing mother a debit card to trace where she was spending the money, although our agency in California sends one out the next day. There was no support for after hours needs- like, our birth mother would need to go to the hospital late at night and we would have to pay for the Uber, since AA simply said they couldn't do anything until the next day. We did have a hard case and the birth mother, was extremely difficult, but we constantly heard they were mad at her and she was wasting a lot of their time. I say, so what, as some cases are easy and some cases are hard. This is the business you chose to be in. The 1 star review is for the Manager Justin- the dude is simply a jerk. At one point, he got on the phone and yelled at my wife, complaining that the birth mom's behaviors were our fault. He was rude, abrupt, and unprofessional- when my wife asked why he was being a "jerk" he said he didn't care. When she asked what the "game plan" was, he simple said he didn't have one. She said "so, were going to continue to do the same thing?" and he said, Yes. In a difficult situation, you don't lash out verbally at your clients and have no game plan or process to try to do things differently. Our agency in California said they won't use AA again. Also, when we were selected by a new mother in Michigan, we told our new agency about our last experience. The Social Worker literally said, "let me guess, Adoption Alliance", without us naming them. We just got a child in Michigan, and working with the agency out there vs AA, made me write this review. It was night and day, from the game plan from after the baby was born to every detail in between. We had a failed adoption working with AA in Texas and a month later had a positive adoption working with a professional agency in Michigan. Shame on you Justin and too bad we never got to meet and perhaps we could have discussed how you treated my wife in person and how you run a horrible company and are only in it to make a buck. I will preface this by saying that I don't feel that I can capture how great this agency was for us in these few words. We spent months searching for the right agency. We researched, we asked around, we interviewed with some and we were almost ready to go with a national agency, when I called Adoption Alliance and talked to Stacie. She spent time going over everything with me. She explained things in detail, answered all my questions. She was honest and real and you could tell that she just loved the work she did. I never felt rushed. When we hung up the phone I knew this was the place for us. We had our paperwork in and were parents in waiting at the beginning of February, and we brought our son home April 25th! 3 months! We had a couple hiccups along the way (through no fault of Adoption Alliance) and the staff responded quickly to help us and were always available to answer our questions. Adoption Alliance was with us every step of the way. I never felt alone or unsure of what to do next. When our son was born they handled everything. They were in constant contact with the hospital, our sweet birth mom, as well as my husband and I . It was as smooth as it could possibly be. If you are looking for a personal agency that truly cares about you as the birth family as well as the birth mother, then this is the agency. As a professional, I have worked with The Adoption Alliance as an independent contractor for a number of years. Of all the agencies I have worked with or learned about, I have found that The Adoption Alliance is the most honest and forthcoming when it comes to the adoption experience. The agency's honesty is particularly important when it comes to how long you may wait for placement, the type of adoptive situations that may be presented and the fact that they set a limit as to how many clients they will work with at any given time. They are also extremely mindful and respectful when it comes to the care of birthmothers which is very important to me. The emotional care and well-being are all those involved in the adoption experience is paramount. I find that The Adoption Alliance is very thoughtful in this regard. The agency also recently set a capped fee for adoption so that you know ahead of time what the cost will be. If a situation ever falls through for one reason or another, you will not experience a financial loss while also experiencing the emotional disappointment. Overall, my experience has been that the agency is very successful at placing families together because they do not accept clients for the sake of it, but carefully ensure that adoptive parents are educated about what they can expect from the agency and a good fit for all involved.
