We first heard of ANLC from a friend... See, we had just had an adoption fall through after waiting for three and a half years... The baby had been with us for a week and the birthmother had changed her mind. ... We did our research on ANLC and then reached out for a consultation. ... At the end of a call, our Consultant said, "Things happen for a reason and I know your baby is out there for you." As she said that, I looked up on the wall in our office and there is a small frame with a quote in it that we received from my mom the day we had to bring our baby back to his birthmother, and it says "things happen for a reason, just believe." Well, that was it, we just felt ANLC was the answer to our prayers. We decided to let this all sink in for a week and if we still felt as comfortable, we would send in our application. ... It was a Wednesday night and we were due to call our Consultant on Thursday with our decision and we thought, let's go to the hockey game and take our minds off of it... That night we returned home to an email from a birth mom asking us to adopt our baby. Wow, she was due on Friday, had a C-section scheduled on Monday, and was moving next Friday... .... We called our Consultant on Tuesday... Then we said, "if we ever do this again, you are our first call." Once our daughter turned one, we decided to adopt again. ANLC was our first call... Our first website was finished on February 1st. We decided not to check our hits for the first month... We'll never forget the phone call on February 15th. I was at work and saw a California area code come up on my phone... It was our Advisor with great news, and I had to have her repeat it to me three times. WE HAD BEEN CHOSEN!!! For the next 15 minutes, I feverishly wrote down all the facts I could so I could get the information to my husband... I told my boss I was taking a long lunch and drove to my husband's work and waited until lunch. ... I told him I had something to tell him, and to sit down. He was just as shocked as me and had even more questions than I did. We had an amazing first conversation with our birth mom and at the end of the conversation, she told us not to change our minds, because she was not going to change hers. ... The original ultrasound was leaning towards the baby being a girl... She felt that this pregnancy was different from her others and she has girls, so she wanted us to know for sure if it was a girl or boy. We told her if it was a girl, we have a daughter so we have a bunch of stuff already and if it were a boy, well then we would have one of each. She asked us to bring a list of names we were thinking about for both girls and boys because she was curious what names we liked, but she wanted us to name the baby. We were so nervous for the first meeting that we flew in a day early so we could get a good rest before the meeting. ... She was so open and honest about her situation and why this adoption was her choice... Then she shared, "And by the way, this baby is a boy." We were so excited... We had almost daily contact with her via phone calls and text messages about updates from doctors appointments and how she was feeling. Well, the due date had come and gone and still no baby. The doctor finally decided to induce on the last day of May. Great, now we have a plan, we will leave on Monday, have plenty of time to settle in and get ready for the birth. ... Unfortunately we were bringing our daughter to her grandparents to stay and she gets sick on the way there. ... Then we arrived at the airport to delayed flights. Boy ... Then just before we got on the connecting flight, our birth mom called, I could only imagine a thousand different thoughts. They had changed the date to induce and now it was going to be Wednesday. Now all of these crazy thoughts were going thru our heads and then we had an extra day just to think about things. Wednesday could not come soon enough. Wednesday is here and today is the day. ... Unfortunately our appointment was pushed back because so many people were coming in already in labor and they took priority. Finally we are in the room with our birthmom and things are progressing, after 6 hours it is time to push and wouldn't you know it, this little boy just did not want to come out. But, after a few more hours, this very healthy baby boy arrived. ... We had decided that we would ask our birth mom to help name him. Just like with our daughter, a name popped right into my head when we first saw him, but I kept quiet to see what everyone else said. Our birth mom looked at me and said, "he only looks like one name on the list," and I agreed... So it was set, this little boy was named Mason Becket. ... Our family is now complete with our Lauren and Mason and we have a lot of people to thank, and ANLC is on the list. In March, on our 6 year wedding anniversary, we found out that our last round of IVF did not take. We were devastated but not defeated. We spent a day or so mourning our inability to get pregnant but were ready to keep pursuing our dream of becoming parents. My husband and I had never really talked about adoption as a realistic option for us but almost immediately after our bad news, God spoke to us and told us that we were to adopt. Our tears stopped that day and a month later we made our first call to ANLC. We were beyond terrified to begin the adoption journey. It was completely uncharted waters to us and our friends and family. We knew that it was expensive and uncertain. We took the first step with blind faith and we have never looked back. Our phone consultation was in April. Our Consultant was just what we needed; calm, reassuring, and candid. She listened to our concerns and kindly let us know when they were valid or distorted. She was an effective listener and educator. We decided that week that we would move forward with ANLC and signed on with them in late April. Our Consultant set us up with a financial institution and a list of home study providers in our area. We chose to move forward with both recommended agencies. Both agencies treated us with kindness, attention, and support. The idea of taking out a loan of that size and setting up a home study were petrifying. Once again, we were impressed by the level of customer care and support that we were given. We completed our home study, received our loan, and our webpages were up and running by mid June. It was time for the dreaded waiting game. We were prepared to be waiting for a call for at least 4-6 months, praying that we wouldn't have to wait years. Then, it happened, we got the call on June 28th!!!! Our Consultant called my husband and told him that we had been selected! I was at work when he called me. He is quite the jokester so he called and told me that ANLC called about our profile, that there was an issue with the last round of pictures. I was beyond frustrated when he chimed in and said, "They said the pictures must be great because we were selected by a birthmother." Time froze and I could barely comprehend what he was saying. He told me to hurry home, that we would have a call from our Consultant in an hour to discuss the potential adoption opportunity. We were informed that the birthmother was 13 weeks along and lived in our same state, just 2 hours away. We were ecstatic, we knew that this would be a rare possibility. However, we had some decisions to make after listening to the birthmother bio. We knew that there would be some compromises but felt that this adoption opportunity was heaven sent. The next week we had our first call with the birthmother and set up a personal meeting a month later. I bonded with the birthmother more than I thought I would. She invited me to attend all of the doctor's appointments and to be in the room with her when our baby was born. It was almost all too good to be true. Our Advisor from ANLC was assigned to our case and did a wonderful job keeping us updated and connected with our birthmother. The birthmother and I were in constant contact and she was very upfront with me. There were some bumps in the road but nothing that communication couldn't fix and being in constant communication with the birthmother was definitely helpful. My husband and I were never open to an open adoption and the birthmother wasn't either but we ended up forming a relationship that made the journey so much more meaningful. We were all in full understanding that once the baby was born, the adoption would be closed. I was able to be there when we found out that our precious miracle was a GIRL!!!!!! Our birthmother gave us all of the sonograms and even let me feel the baby kick. In September, our case was transferred to our state agency, for the duration of the adoption. All the while, ANLC stayed in constant contact. We were always informed of happenings, our rights, and what was expected to come. We had very little concerns through out this entire process and that is what comforted us every time we made a payment for our loan. We paid for an experience unparalleled to any other with outstanding results and for a working class family that is very important. On December 26th, we welcomed our little girl into this world. I was the first person to hold her and see her besides the doctors. I watched as our amazingly strong birthmother went through 10 hours of labor with no drugs in order to complete our family. She is truly an angel and an inspiration. The hospital accommodated us with great care and we had our own room for the duration of our stay, allowing us to bond with our daughter just as if I had given birth to her. We visited the birthmother a few times before her release and said our prayers and goodbyes before we went our separate ways... read more

We adopted our baby girl in August 2016 and partnered with ANLC as our agency to make the match. Overall, we had a great experience and we have a beautiful daughter because of it. We had read several negative reviews on the internet, but we chose to move forward with ANLC because we had two personal friends recommend them to us. Both had very successful adoption experiences with them, so we felt comfortable moving forward. Our initial contact who completed our interview was very informative, and although I read in several reviews out there that their initial adoption counsel was pushy, we didn't feel that way at all. I'm sure there are good ones and there are bad ones, but the person we worked with was excellent and truly cared. Her name escapes me, but she has two adopted boys herself that are grown and it was nice to hear the personal experience she had. Once our profiles were complete and we had done everything we needed to do, we were matched within 6 weeks and were very excited. We did have our ups and downs. Our birthmother was a bit difficult and about 2 weeks prior to our daughter being born, ANLC actually advised us to pull out because they weren't sure if she was serious about adopting her baby out. We decided to stay the course, and although it was an unbelievably stressful period of time (and it will be regardless of your situation, so be ready for that), everything worked out in the end. We felt very supported the entire time, as did our birth mother. Our contact did leave the company right as our birthmother was due to have our daughter, so we were all assigned a new person (Mary) to work with. She was carrying her own case load, plus several matches of the person who left, so I know her job was very stressful. We didn't always receive a call back right away, but she was available to us when we needed her and did a good job of navigating both sides of the birthmother / adoptive family equation. I gave them a 4 primarily due to their fees. They are up front about why they cost so much, and I believe their marketing does pay off, hence the fact that we were matched within 6 weeks. However, we spent a ton more than we had originally budgeted because of birthmother expenses. Additionally, they are not an adoption agency, as we found out when we worked with our attorney in our home state. They are a conduit that matches birth mothers with families, and then you work with an actual agency in your home state. The fees for that were minimal, so we didn't complain, but I would research what the fees are for your state because it adds up very quickly. You also don't know all of the rules for the particular state you are adopting from until after you're matched, and ANLC doesn't always know all of the particulars of that state either, so push and ask a lot of questions. They are a law center and their pitch is that they protect you, which I do believe they do their best to do, but ultimately your attorney will be the one to advise you on the specifics. We didn't like the attorney that was assigned to us in our home state, even though she is someone that ANLC has worked with for years, so if you have friends that recommend an attorney they like, I would suggest using them. Just our one-off experience, but good to figure out quickly if you click with that attorney or not. We plan to use ANLC again for our next baby, but learned a lot from this experience. If you don't feel you comfortable with your first ANLC rep, ask for someone else. I truly believe they will take care of you, but you have to have a contact that you feel has your best interest at heart. read more

We adore Samuel Jesus, and he has changed our lives so much that doing anything else sometimes is hard to accomplish. We are beyond blessed to have had two wonderful yet very different adoption experiences with ANLC. Our first adoption was a complete whirlwind experience. We first contacted ANLC in October of 2008 and were so nervous and excited. We found out that our profile was "live" on December 23rd and enjoyed telling our extended family of our plans to adopt at the various holiday parties we attended. We remember saying, "Wouldn't it be cool if we had a baby by next Christmas?" Little did we know that our lives were going to change drastically! In less than two weeks, we received a phone call from ANLC that there was a birth mother who had chosen us. We asked when she was due and there was a long pause... well, she was already dilated 4 cm and we needed to get there ASAP!! We were completely shocked that in just a few hours, we were going to become a family of three and would be meeting our son. We got in our car, called everyone we knew and drove just a little too fast to the hospital. We arrived a few minutes after he was born and knew in our hearts that we already loved him. These days I often hear myself telling friends and family who are expecting that they don't need to worry about planning the baby's room, reading tons of books, buying clothes etc. because we are living proof that all you really need to start a family is love. We didn't own a single baby item nor hadn't read anything on how to care for an infant. All that our baby boy needed was a loving family, which was something we knew how to provide. Our second adoption was quite different, yet just as wonderful as our first. We signed up for this adoption in February 2010 and by early April, our profile was live on the ANLC website. Roughly three weeks later, we received a phone call saying that there was an adoption opportunity for us and that the baby would be born in just six weeks! With this adoption, we were able to talk with the birth mother and her family during the remainder of her pregnancy. We enjoyed our phone conversations and getting to know the birth parents. It felt very natural and it was nice to have someone to talk to as we waited. When we found out that our baby was going to be a boy, we were so excited that our first son was going to have a brother and a buddy for life. As the due date grew closer, we flew to Texas to await our new little one. We arrived about a week before he was born and enjoyed spending time with his birth parents and developed a strong bond with them. This was completely different than our first adoption and we felt very blessed to have gotten to know such loving, selfless people. Today our boys are inseparable and we couldn't imagine life without either one of them. In fact, as we were putting them to bed tonight, our three year old asked for a group hug. While we were all huddled he said, "We are all stuck together" and we couldn't agree with him more. ... My husband and I did our research and contacted several adoption entities. The day we met with our ANLC Consultant, we just felt comfortable. Finally, things felt "right". She understood where we were coming from on all of our concerns, and she provided solid information that we could research on our own to make us feel more at ease. We knew immediately that ANLC would be the choice for us. The first few weeks of signing on with ANLC were spent compiling pictures, taking pictures, taking more pictures and composing our "Dear Birthmother" letter. We were prepared for a long wait - sometimes adoptions happen quickly, sometimes it takes a while for the right situation to come along. Every time we would feel anxious or concerned that things weren't going to happen, our Consultant was right there on the phone or by email. As I heard her first cries, the only thing I could think of was that this was truly a miracle. Our blessing arrived exactly when and how she was meant to come into our lives. One day you have certainty that everything will go through smoothly, that this is your "time" and your little one is on the way; the next day, you'll be scared to death that nothing is going to go right and that you're never going to be a parent. Try to stay calm, always respect your birthmother's thoughts and feelings, and most of all, be confident in knowing that your child is out there - it's just a matter of finding him or her. Testimonial for Adoptive Parents Adoption changed our lives not once but twice. We were truly blessed and forever grateful for the wonderful blessings of our sons. After several rounds of infertility treatments and much money spent, we decided that we were being led to adopt. The process was very smooth and we were on a plane March 12 to Louisiana because our son, Louis was being born. We were so blessed again by great birth parents and a wonderful social worker. After our birth mother signed the papers, our social worker took us all out to dinner, (birth parents, adoptive parents, baby, and social worker). It was such a wonderful time and we were glad to get to know both of the parents so we can tell Louis what great people they are. We were truly blessed to have the opportunity and be chosen to be the parents of two adorable boys. We felt very supportive and had such a blessed and wonderful experience with ANLC. ...Just 3 years ago, my husband and I were discussing adopting a baby and I started some search online. My husband and I reached to this law center to get more information on all that do before we made our decision with who we would like to work with. I had a list of questions as we have done domestic adoption before and we know that some companies are in it for the money. That's just the harass heartbreaking reality of adoption so we had a bunch of questions about how they ensure birth families are not coaxed into adoption and I asked for references and an itemized list that explained what all the money was being used for as well as how much of of what we put in is used for administrative fees. This is where Ms. Diana got quiet and didn't respond to my emails however she did text me and ask "isn't talking better?" That was a huge red flag for us because it made us feel like she didn't want to answer those specific questions in writing. And when certain questions were being asked about "crazy birth mothers" (her words not mine) she deterred from them and kept saying "anyways". I felt like I was constantly being cut off and given very vague direction but the fact that she didn't want to answer my email, made my husband and I feel like she didn't want to have anything in writing that could be used against them later on. Secondly, we adopted a few years ago and we have an open adoption with our sons birth family. It's something that's really important to us and it's been beautiful however Ms. Diana just kept having this nasty attitude about the birth mother and the fact that our sons birth mother was an addict. That was a huge red flag. It's one thing to have your opinion but her attitude about the woman that chose life for our son and gave me the change to be a mom, something that took us 11 years to see, infuriated me. How can a company employ a staff member that views birth mothers that way yet says they pride themselves on being a resource for them. There is just to much with this company that doesn't settle right and it breaks my heart. If these are not concerns for you then by all means work with them but they are for my family and I and we will not work with. Our experience with Adoption Network Law Center (ANLC) was extremely positive and quite expeditious from day one. A couple that we knew had gone through ANLC for their first adoption back in 2010 and had recommended that we go through them as well since they were a very seasoned organization that would be able to quickly get our profile to birthmothers nationwide. In fact, that same couple is planning on going through ANLC once again for their next adoption. Up until that conversation, we spent a lot of time searching the web and gathering lots of information about the adoption process, which included over 20 different adoption agencies and consultants. We were ultimately running in circles with a wealth of information, yet had no idea as to where or how to begin the process. We just knew we did not want to waste another minute running down rabbit trails! The research process alone was quite exhausting and we felt that we needed to take a leap of faith and move forward with an organization that had years of experience and positive testimonials to back that experience. It was clear that ANLC was that organization. We now have a precious baby boy that we cherish more than life itself and all of our fertility hardships are a thing of the distant past. Looking back, we do not have any regrets whatsoever, but cannot help but wonder why we did not begin our adoption journey sooner. Was it an issue of having a biological child? In July, my husband and I decided that it was the right time to adopt a baby. We had been talking about adoption for a while and we felt that we were ready, but didn't know how to start the process. I did some research online and requested information from a few entities, but found Adoption Network Law Center, not only responded quickly, but also personally, with a follow up phone call. That conversation assured me we had found our adoption entity and we were working with the right people. We had many questions about adoption and the process and both our Adoption Consultant, and our Adoption Advisor, as well as all the other amazing people at ANLC, not only answered our questions but provided the reassurance and support we needed as we started this very exciting journey. We had just put up one of our webpages in mid-November and a few short weeks later we were presented with an adoption opportunity. We were so happy and a little frantic, because we had just started our home study, but our Birth Mother was not due for five more months so our Advisor at ANLC reassured us we had plenty of time! We were blessed to have met with our Birth Mother and her parents a few times before our son was born and when our Birth Mother delivered our baby I was blessed to be there to witness Evan's birth. We were able to spend time with both Evan and our Birth Mother and her family during our time at the hospital and those are some of our most precious memories. We have been able to meet several times since Evan's birth, April 26th, with our Birth Mother and her family and they are times that my husband and I cherish. We not only have a beautiful new son, we feel like we have been given a whole new extended family! We started our adoption journey with ANLC nearly two years ago. We chose them as our agency after being referred by a friend who had adopted successfully. Unfortunately, we didn't look into other options, and I now wish that we had. Here are two red flags that we ignored. - Initial consultation with attorney. She was extremely immature. My husband and I could not believe how unprofessional her communication was. We should have backed out then. - Online Profile. We expected more from this. They sent us an outline of what pictures we had to take of each other doing different activities. We took hundreds of pictures, and they used very few without giving us any feedback. There was a typo in our profile as well, including the paper copy that was mailed out to families. Some of the other adoption agencies have much better profiles of their waiting families. I wish I had considered this in choosing an agency. We haven't had any matches at all. They barely send out any printed profiles, and I'm convinced there is a pattern to how many "hits" your online profile gets. I'm concerned they log in themselves to make it look like people are visiting the website when they aren't. I don't have any proof, but it's weird that there is a pattern to how these numbers pop up. It's pretty consistent. We have extremely relaxed criteria in terms of medical problems, gender and race. So that's not the issue. For what it's worth, their communication has been fast and efficient. They always get back to us, usually within the hour. I'm honestly not sure how much of this has to do with ANLC and how much of it has to do with the heartbreaking and miserable process of domestic newborn adoption. Shop wisely for an agency. Maybe pay attention to red flags? Better yet, try to avoid adoption altogether. It's a horrible experience. read more

So many times, we sit and think about what we would say to ourselves if we knew what we knew now. We think we would say, calm down, take a deep breath and let ANLC do the rest. All of the fear, the uncertainty, the pain of not being able to conceive, the word "adoption", a term you never thought you'd have to use in your life, the UNKNOWN. After all, the unknown is scary, it is a dark path where there needs to be light, then you start your search and you find ANLC. You're still scared, you still don't believe a typical wait time is 9 months or less, it is too good to be true. You read the testimonials and think great for them, but this will never happen to me. Though still apprehensive, you make the call to ANLC and after talking to any one of their wonderful staff, you begin to see some light on that dark path. Your mind starts to spin, you daydream of the day you will become parents, is this really happening, it is overwhelming and still a bit scary, but you take that leap of faith and become clients of ANLC. You work hard on finishing your home study so your web pages can be up and running for your birthmother to find you. The good days seem to now overcome the bad days. You have hope! Then one glorious day, you get the call that a birthmother has selected YOU! If you think your head was spinning before, it is definitely spinning now, your feet are hardly on the ground, you have the feeling of walking on air. The long awaited day finally happens, you have this tiny, perfect human being in your arms and you know he/she was made just for you. Like everyone considering adoption, we weren't sure where to turn and who to trust. We interviewed and explored several agencies and finally went with our gut. We chose ANLC for their professionalism, honesty, upfront considerations and overall caring attitude. For any concerns or questions, we were given devoted discussion time and Kristin Yellin herself even joined in on a session with us. We were impressed and we were not disappointed. We posted our profile just a few months after signing on and two weeks later we were matched. We were able to participate in the birth of our daughter and connect with the birthparents (and their families) as well. ANLC gave wonderful guidance and support to both us and our birthparents. They linked us with exceptional social workers in our area, lawyer support and counseling services for our birthparents. They were forthright in their estimates for cost and possible expenses to anticipate and we were never taken by surprise. We were supported in our choices and preferences along the way and gave our trust to them to advocate for us with their extensive media resources. We owe ANLC so much for being there not only for us but for attracting our birthparents to their website. We would have never been connected with what seems like a "match made in heaven" if it wasn't for their services. ...It's sometimes hard to believe there was a time when I wondered if I would ever be a mother. Heartache and longing have changed to fullness and joy through the adoption of our boys..Just 7 years ago, we made our first call to ANLC, and after extensive research and comparing them to other adoption entities, we excitedly signed on with them...but when the baby was born the birthmother changed her mind and we experienced the pain of a failed adoption attempt. Only one month after that, our first son Calvin was welcomed into our open arms. He has brought us so much joy and it has been amazing to watch him grow up....When Calvin was almost 2 years old, we chose ANLC again to help us grow our family - which happened faster than we ever imagined. A mere month after signing on, I received the call that a baby boy was born and asking if we could come to the hospital... and come we did! ...In late summer of 2009 we called up Adoption Network again to start the process of adopting our third child. Adoption is no easy process on either side, and it demands a sensitivity to all of the emotions that can be felt - good and bad. ANLC has not only been very professional in the handling of all of the details of our adoption, but I admire the way they have cared for the birth mother and for us. Our 'call' came a year after we experienced what we thought would be the adoption of a newborn, but the birth mother chose to parent her child. I applaud the fact they did not condemn the birth mother, and they were very supportive of us. During the year of waiting, they were diligent to keep in contact with us and encourage us. At the moment we went to meet our children, I think the ANLC family was just as excited as we were! Our adoption wait was the one you hear about but you think it will never happen to you. We were marketed by ANLC for approx 10 days when we received the phone call that a courageous BM had chosen us to be our son's Mommy & Daddy. That's right...10 days and we were presented with an adoption opportunity. The very next day we had our first phone interview with our BM and got all the details of her pregnancy & ultrasound pictures. We were going to be PARENTS!! Every step of the way ANLC guided us and was always upfront and honest with the journey to our son. My husband and I started our adoption process with Adoption Network Law Center (ANLC) in year 2009, and we received "THE CALL" on February 6, 2013. Let us say, it was worth the wait. We are ever so grateful to the birth mother for her courageous decision and special thanks to ANLC for making it all possible. The wait was long but, our client liaison had faith that we will be matched with the right birth mother at the right time. We were blessed to meet our birth mother a few days before she gave birth.
