We were really optimistic about converting to ADP for our small business. We had an excellent and helpful sales rep who promised that he would "be there for us every step of the way". The transition was extremely bumpy, but we finally managed to get on to the ADP platforms. When questions about delayed payments to IRS arose, we asked repeatedly for explanation (5 times) and only got, "We'll look into it", but never a response/explanation. Three stars for their autmoated processes that work well. one star for sustomer service. If you have any issue that requires anything other than "pay this amount," you are out of luck. If it requires that they read something or understand something, you will be stuck in an endless loop of contacting them and having them ignore you. The same goes for their account reps. You can literally tell them exactly what you need them to do, and they still won't get it. The last rep we had was a Sports Management major from FSU. She seemed to have reading difficulties. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS DISEASE OF A COMPANY. They will run you in circles while continuing to take from your pockets. You can beg and plead with them all you want. You can't just SIMPLY stop services with them. They do not disclose any of this with you and do not care to jump in if you're clearly not using their services. It has taken me over a year to get them out of my pockets and I am not sure I have actually succeeded. I stopped using them in May of 2025 and I HOPE the last $258 bill came out this week. It has cost me over $4000 just to get rid of them. There is a huge cancellation fee for retirement services and you have to continue paying your normal fee during the cancellation period. They literally do not care and they know there's nothing you can do about it. Get Gusto or literally anyone else. I will post this everywhere I possibly can. ADP is the absolute worst. For starters, they sold our company an aggressive sales package for HR and everything esle, company only need payroll. So we got rid of them and went to paycor. You would think that would be thee end of it. No not by any means, they are now still filing our 941's without consent and after a dozen phone calls to the company, no one knows what anyone else in the company does, cannot get management involved, and everyone i speak to honestly dont care, you can tell in the tone of voice. This is now preventing our new company from filing our 941's, so we spend soooo much time straightening this our EVERY quarter, take some advice, do not use this rinky dink company if you can avoid it. read more

Rating: (1 Star) I strongly caution any small business considering using ADP for payroll services. Our company, Healing Hands Home Health Care Agency, partnered with ADP for payroll, and our experience over the past month has been extremely troubling. We ran payroll for the first time in May 2026. While most employees received their paychecks through direct deposit, one employee did not receive their payment. The funds were withdrawn from our business account but were never returned. ADP claims they paid the employee "out of their own pocket," but they have not provided proof of this payment, nor have they returned the two payments that were taken from our account. If they did, in fact, pay the employee themselves, they would still owe us the two withdrawn payments so that we could reimburse them. Our bank statements clearly show two separate withdrawals, neither of which were returned, and we believe the first payment may have been misappropriated. The second payment went through direct deposit to the employee, and it seems unlikely ADP paid it out of their own pocket, as they claim. This situation forced us to delay payment to our employee for nearly a week until we could cover it ourselves--causing undue stress for both our staff and our business. We contacted ADP multiple times to resolve the issue, speaking with customer service repeatedly, but their support has been unprofessional, defensive, and unhelpful. They repeatedly questioned the accuracy of the direct deposit information we provided, despite us confirming the correct account and routing numbers. Our employee also reported that their interaction with ADP support was rude and dismissive. As of today, we are still trying to determine what happened and have received no satisfactory explanation. To resolve the immediate issue, ADP issued a second payment directly from our account, which overdrafted us by several hundred dollars and prompted our bank to freeze our account temporarily. Despite this clear error, ADP has claimed that we owe them money, blocked our access to their payroll system, and has failed to return the original withdrawn funds. This experience has not only caused financial disruption but has raised serious concerns about ADP's reliability and competence in managing payroll for small businesses. Accurate payroll is especially critical in healthcare, where employees rely on timely payment and companies manage insurance reimbursements. Mistakes like these are unacceptable. Given our experience, I cannot recommend ADP to any small business. Their practices, at least as we experienced them, are unprofessional, misleading, and put businesses and employees at financial risk. Usually, I don't write negative reviews, but they really crossed the line. Every representative I've spoken with turned out to be a salesperson rather than someone who actually provides service. They promise me one thing, but the opposite happens. On top of that, they charged me more than what we originally agreed on. Christian Larsen was my representative, and he told me he would fix my account, but he did nothing. And to be clear, this isn't just about him. Absolutely miserable company to work with. Be prepared to have your e-mails ignored and receive "out of office" auto responses on a monthly if not weekly basis. Our original team was great, everything was smooth. No issues for 16 weeks or so. The new team was a nightmare. Procedures allegedly changed in our payroll process and new steps were added that hadn't existed for the entirety of our using the service. Our payrolls were somehow "unapproved" and the reps tried to gaslight us into saying we were missing a step and hadn't approved our payrolls. It got so bad we literally had to record ourselves processing payroll so when the team lied to us and tried to gaslight us we had proof it was on their end. The staff was rude and passive aggressive to the extreme. Again it was so bad we called them out on the b*tchy behavior. This wasn't even corporate cattiness it was blatant rudeness to cover up their painful incompetence. It took months to resolve issues. When we escalated issues to superiors we had the same problems. The highest person on the ladder we were able to talk to literally said things along the lines of "I'll take care of this, you'll have a response by Friday" well Friday would come and go and so would the weekend, Monday, Tuesday, etc and we'd have to bump them again. Oh look we'd get another out of office e-mail. Then when we did get replies it was along the lines of "oops, so sorry we'll get to it." We had so many delayed payrolls because of their incompetence our kitchen and bar staff was about to walk. Their head of department told us we might consider parting ways. When we did part ways they told us we'd owe a 5k breaking of contract fee. Excuse me. The services we were paying for weren't rendered. If you use this company literally every issue or request, you MUST in writing ask them to submit a ticket for it and send you the ticket number. Be prepared for getting the runaround. I absolutely do not recommend this company. It was a miserable experience and we have no joke over a dozen "out of office" e-mails from them and written records and proof of their lies and failure to provide services. read more

Two weeks ago, I asked them to produce an ROE for an employee that had to take medical leave. TWO WEEKS LATER!!! Still nothing from them. I asked why this was not done. The response was " I don't know". So disappointing but not unexpected. I am terminating ADP as a payroll provider. ADP has horrible customer service if any at all. I initially contacted ADP with help to view my W2 and Current Pay Statements. It is March and they only show up to last week in December 2024. Their "AI" told me to contact my company. My company told me to contact ADP. I was then told to delete and reinstall my mobile app then to try on a desktop. Neither worked. They are more focused on upselling you on additional products and services than doing just your payroll. Prices we were quoted were not accurate. Everything was an upcharge. But Payroll taxes withheld were not done accurately. You do not have a specialist assigned to your account, so every time you have to call in for an issue, you get a call center, and have to start at the beginning and re-explain the issue, over again. And if you speak to 4 different people, you get 4 completely different answers. One didn't know the difference between Gross and net pay. But the constant emails and phone calls trying to upsell you on services was borderline harassment. One gal even tried to intimidate us to add additional services, or face fines and legal fees. Even after cancelling , they are still emailing me to add services. read more

Time clock is never correct with actual time and when you go out and back in to clock it will re start time from where you left off. Over time I am having to stay extra at work for time discrepancies. Also logging in to start my day usually have a problem which causes emails and texts to inform management and also payroll. Terrible corporate strategy. Sell, sell, sell with no consideration whether 1.customer needs can be met, 2.there's enough knowledgeable ADP personnel for set-up & training. Perhaps the sales commission structure should be reviewed! I had the distinct feeling that the only thing that is important to ADP is the sale & forcing the customer to GO LIVE. Implementation teams seem to be overworked and not well trained. If you get sucked into an ADP contract, do NOT go live until you're comfortable that adequate testing has been done and all required changes have been made. No matter how many times you are assured ADP will be by your side, you will no longer be a priority. Implementation team members schedule back to back calls and are not available to address immediate processing questions. In addition to the lofty ADP fee structure, be prepared to pay an additional $60k+ for an outside consultant to help implement ADP's Work Force Now (WFN). read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would! DO NOT use them as your payroll company. Their customer service is awful. They are impossible to get hold of on the phone. If you actually stay on hold long enough to speak with someone, the likely hood of your question/problem being resolved is slim to none. It will take at least 2 - 3 more phone calls (which could add up to many hours) to speak with someone that is capable. Once you finally get a person on the phone to talk to they refuse to take responsibility for any errors. They consistently pass the blame back and do not resolve the issue. We have had miscellaneous charges deducted from our account and I am guessing those charges will never be reversed or refunded. read more

Never delt with a company that is more difficult to get a hold of. I tried 5 different numbers, all with separate numbers that never get you to a person and only hang up on you. Even at the end its very clear you were never going to speak to a person. Hanging up on your customers is extremely rude, especially after providing no assistance.
