Wedding recessional. I was jamming to Empire State of Mind

I said yes to my dress at Adrienne's!! And I said yes to my alterations and my dress cleaning/preservation there too. I do love versatile and one-stop-shop businesses So bit of a backstory: I first went shopping for my Nov 2023 wedding dress in October of 2022. Adrienne's was the second bridal shop I went to after going to a local David's Bridal. I was there for a Lillian West trunk show. I actually almost said yes to a Lillian West dress sample at the time, but after mulling over it, I decided that I had more than enough time for my wedding, so I actually walked away from the dress. Which is fine, wasn't the right one for me in the end. I went dress shopping at 2-3 other bridal shops (and made multiple trips back to previous shops) before somehow, I found myself back at Adrienne's again in February of 2023 for another trunk show. I think it was one of Justin Alexander's cheaper lines. Anyway, at that point, I was a little jaded with dress shopping. And I had changed my dress vision too. I had originally wanted a simple A-line gown, but now I was dead-set on getting an affordable ballgown with sleeves and lace. Yeah, I put myself in a tough situation, for sure. And I was running out of time. During my appointment, I remember being stuck between an affordable but less fancy ballgown option (less than $1200) and a less affordable but fancy ballgown option (full retail price is more than $2200). But Maryann worked her magic and brought down the cost of the dress by a couple of hundred and threw in a veil as part of the deal. I was sold! I said yes to Martin Thornburg's 2021 Brier dress! The full train was to die for. The gown definitely wasnt exactly what I had envisioned for my day. Im not going to lie, I had a tiny bit of dress regret after getting it. Even after the discount, it was still so expensive. But when it came time to go in for my first dress alteration appointment, I put the dress on and thankfully didn't feel disappointment. Maryann worked for almost 2 hours during that initial alteration I was so worried she'd faint. Subsequent dress appointments were less time-consuming, thankfully. Maryann did a great job with the bustle and also getting the dress to fit perfectly. The bustle made me feel like Cinderella! I was a little nervous about my dress being finished on time, as it was peak wedding season. But Maryann delivered, for sure. Tbh I didn't bother checking around NYC for other alteration places, as wedding dresses are kind of ridiculously hard to carry around. Maryann does offer a max cap of $795 on all alterations. I think this is a pretty good deal for a ballgown as lacey and full as mine. Maryann had the dress all steamed and packed up when I went to pick up the dress. When I wore the dress on my wedding day, the dress wasn't wrinkled or anything and it looked great. I got many compliments (especially on the cathedral length train). I also do love that Maryann also offers cleaning and preservation of dresses to her brides as well at an affordable price ($300). I took a lot of outdoor pictures so the train of my dress was pretty dirty. And because of my shoes (stiletto heels) some of the underlayer tulle was torn as well. But Maryann helps with that too. Overall, Im really glad I went to Adrienne's for my dress. Her dress selection is good and the location was pretty accessible to me as well. Maryann juggles so much in her personal life, but she always goes the extra mile for her brides every time.

Maryann was absolutely wonderful to work with! Not only did I find the PERFECT wedding dress at Adrienne's, but she did a wonderful job tailoring the dress. I could only come in once as I was living in CA at the time and she was able to perfectly tailor the dress without multiple fittings. She is incredibly talented and kind. I could not speak more highly of my experience!

I'm sad that all of my wedding preparation is over because I will miss working with Maryann. When it was all said and done she felt like family. I bought my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses from Adrienne's and they were all so beautiful. When I first started looking for a dress I was planning on having an outdoor wedding so I decided on a simple no-frills gown that was beautiful but not really me. By the time I came back to find dresses for my bridesmaids, I had a whole new venue and realized that I was not happy with the dress I originally chose. Maryann allowed me to change my dress although I already placed an order. That meant so much to me because I wanted to walk down the aisle in something that made me feel like I was glowing. Side note, I strongly encourage you to have your venue set and preferred style before you start shopping for a dress because that will help you pick your perfect dress the first time. There is no guarantee that you will be able to change your dress last minute and you risk getting hit with late fees. I loved that every time I came to try on my dress Maryann would let me strut in it for a bit. I would look in the mirror, dance in it, try on my veil and just imagine myself on that day. Each time, I fell more and more in love with the dress. During the first fitting, I decided that I wanted a slit in my dress and she worked with my stylist to figure out the best place to put it. I picked up my dress the day before the wedding so that I wouldn't wrinkle it before the big day and it was flawless. I highly recommend Adrienne's!

Space to contemplate being a dream come true bride.

My daughter's matron of honor led us to Adrienne's because the shop carried a few of the designers my daughter had on her list. As we made our way there on a freezing Sunday afternoon, I was questioning whether there could really be a special bridal shop on Orchard Street. I thought all the bridal shops were all Uptown or near David's Bridal. I was a rookie at the whole Mother of the Bride mode of operation, but I thought I knew the city. So, I walked along Orchard Street feeling a bit jaded; expecting my daughter and her best friend to point to a knock off store or a 2nd floor showroom. I was delighted when I saw Adrienne's window display, the dresses, the hats, the accessories and the inviting Manhattan boutique style shop. We weren't greeted with champagne or by a receptionist. We came in out of the cold to be personally greeted by Mary Ann, the owner. We had a personal appointment with her and she was ready for us. Her boutique felt intimate and very feminine -- like a bedroom with exposed brick and warm lights and lovely textures and everything bridal. I loved that Mary Ann wasn't a place that was a constant buzz of sales people, customers, rush hour fitting rooms and a cross-section of multiple bridal party chatter. The one on one with Mary Ann was a real thing.

I went to Adrienne's only a month before my wedding date. Maryann was kind and accommodating. She finished my dress on time and did an amazing job. I loved my dress. And her price is reasonable!

Ridiculous.. let it also be known that Maryann offered to pin the dress to try to close the sale. My mother had not yet committed.

Before I begin, Carol the original sales woman who helped my mother was very kind, patient, and helpful. It is a shame that other people in a workplace can completely overshadow what could have been a good experience and deter others from shopping there.. I am in utter disbelief of the poor customer service that ensued after we tried to cancel my mother's order WITHIN the guidelines of their contract. According to their contract you can make a cancellation for a full refund if you are not purchasing a brides dress, and if you cancel within 24 hours. If you purchase a brides dress and cancel within the 24 hours you must still pay a $100 cancellation fee... totally fine. My mother (not a bride) put a deposit down and cancelled within 24 hours. Maryann then writes us an email stating that they spent 2.5 hours with her and that she is responsible for the payment of $100. What? Not only is that no where in the contract but she is completely trying to take advantage. Talk about being a thief! I have worked in retail for 18 years. You win some and lose some. True retail professionals know it is a part of the industry you accept, that you may very well spend a lot of time with someone and lose the sale anyway. The client does not pay UNLESS you have a consultation fee which they absolutely do not have. My mother is non confrontational and tried to negotiate it down to $60. However this is not for negotiation. We will not negotiate with someone to give us back money that is ours, and have already taken steps to dispute the charge. Businesses are taken to court everyday for these things. It is so unfortunate that places like these exist and are the very reason why people don't like to shop and do not trust sales people. So dishonest, and unprofessional. I suggest shopping elsewhere.

I had a great experience purchasing my bridal gown from Adrienne's Bridal almost 5 years ago. Mary Ann (the owner) personally helped me and she pretty much closed down her boutique for me for about 2 hours on my first appt. The boutique was small but she had beautiful selection of dresses. I fell in love with the 2nd dress I tried on. My sister & I both started crying and I knew it was the one. It was a beautiful Jim Helm dress. Adrienne was very kind and made the entire process easy. Came back for my fitting and everything turned out perfectly. The top part of my dress was straight and she altered it to a soft sweet heart shape. I also purchase a hand beaded belt and a short veil that perfectly matched the belt. Highly recommended. My bridesmaids also purchased their dresses at Adriennne's and they were beautiful.

The cups that were sewn in were two sizes too small, causing my bust to bulge out of the dress. The underwire cut into my chest, pushing one breast to the right and the other upward. With every fitting, the situation got worse rather than better -- leaving me in tears with my wedding only a week away. I ultimately had to take the dress to another seamstress just to salvage it. To make matters worse, after three fittings, they had not even completed a hem. Wedding Atelier charged $1,300 for alterations -- payment required at the time of purchase -- and refused to refund a single dollar despite the damage they caused. The owner, Carrie, was completely unsympathetic and unwilling to take any accountability for what happened. She is unethical,. If you want to protect yourself from unnecessary heartache and stress in the lead-up to your wedding day, I strongly urge you to take your business elsewhere.

The fitting "area" didn't have a mirror so note it's more challenging to closely inspect the dress on your own. Definitely overpriced for very limited selection, which lacked variety. Was surprised that samples were often only priced maybe $500 off the "original price" (questionable if the listed original prices were even accurate, seems inflated, so hardly any cost savings). Many of the dresses were barely more than 20% off, most lower. They do have a small selection (1 rack) of plus sized dresses, although I didn't look through them but something to consider if you fall into that size range. Most of the dress sizes in bridal sizes 8-12, which had several racks. Hastily purchased a gown that I do regret. Note their policy of final sale, no exchanges. They do not take walk ins, but I called day of and received a same day appointment. I guess if you're desperate for a last minute dress with not many options, this places fills a role as you may find something to settle on. Apparently they have independent tailors they work with in store who they claim can quickly do last minute alterations as well but I cannot speak to the quality of said work and I see reviews questioning the quality. I also noticed they handle sales tax in an unusual way, which others may want to be aware of. Wouldn't say this is worth including in your journey to finding a gown in NYC unless you've run out of options.

There is a huge variety of styles, designers, and options, which is great if you want to try on a wide range of dresses in one appointment. That said, the overall experience felt much less personal than some of the other bridal salons I visited in New York City. It felt a bit like a factory of brides, with a giant room where many brides are trying on dresses at the same time. The mirrors were also surprisingly small and free-standing, and I felt very close up to them, which made it hard to really see myself clearly in the dresses. I also would have liked to step off the podium more to see how the dresses looked naturally, but my stylist seemed to prefer that I stay on it (and of course dresses tend to look better when you're elevated on a podium). The selection is definitely a major strength, and I understand why Kleinfeld is so well known. However, there are other bridal salons in New York City that feel much more personalized, spacious, non-judgmental, and relaxed. I also noticed that some of the stylists standing around elsewhere came across as judgmental, which took away from the overall atmosphere a bit. Overall, I'm still giving 5 stars because of the dress variety and the iconic experience, but I would say brides should go in knowing that it may feel less intimate and personalized than other boutiques in the city. I went on a weekday to avoid paying for the experience. I'd recommend others do the same, as I don't think the fee is worth it. My stylist also was the least knowledgable about dresses compared to other salons.

I booked an appointment for 5 Pm on a Friday, and from the moment I walked in, I was so impressed by the space. It is extremely large, clean, and beautifully decorated. They have two completely separate, huge rooms, so you are in total privacy from any other bride, which made the appointment feel really personal and calm. It was by far the largest room I had been in at any bridal salon in New York City. The guest area was also beautiful, with a large, gorgeous couch, and the actual fitting room was huge (definitely the most space I had anywhere while trying on dresses). My stylist was Sylvia, and she was absolutely amazing. She knew the dresses inside and out, answered all of my questions immediately, and seemed to know exactly which dresses I would want to try on. She was extremely personable and gave the perfect amount of space for me to figure out what I liked about each dress, while also offering helpful suggestions and options for what could be changed. I ended up wanting to personalize a dress with detachable sleeves and a non-sparkle lace, and Sylvia knew all of the customization options perfectly. She showed me exactly what the changes could look like and even brought out the identical lace without sparkles so I could really visualize it. She was so patient with me and handled everything perfectly, offering suggestions without ever being overbearing or pushy. She let me walk around in the dress, sit down, and do various poses. I really love many of their dresses as they have the corset back, making them so secure and giving breathability. They have so many incredible dresses with different styles, so it truly is a great place to find a dress. I later came back for a "say yes" appointment with some of my bridesmaids as I was between two dresses, and unfortunately Sylvia wasn't there. I wish I could remember the name of the stylist who helped me that day, because she was truly just as wonderful. I ended up saying yes to the dress, and the team was very patient while answering all of my questions and letting me read through the entire contract. I had seen some reviews mentioning concerns about the post-purchase experience, so I was a little nervous after purchasing, especially because I had questions about the sleeves and customized lace. However, when I emailed them, they responded very quickly and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I'm happy to update this review as the process continues, but so far WONA has been incredible. The space, the dresses, the privacy, the customization options, and most of all the stylists made this such a special and positive experience.

Prior to my Leanne Marshall appointment, I had gone wedding dress shopping twice and had already surrendered to the fact that the "this is it" moment was something I was never going to have. I left previous wedding dress appointments feeling sad and defeated. I had even sworn off strapless dresses, I loved so much in photographs, because I thought they just didn't look good on me. Not only did Nathan open the showroom early to accommodate me, since I was only there visiting New York for the weekend and booked a last minute appointment, he made me feel more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. I had literally developed an anxiety over trying on wedding dresses. However, within seconds Nathan took all that anxiety away. After taking a quick look at me, he immediately pulled the Isabella dress, and said I had to try it on. Though I had sworn off strapless dresses, his confidence and conviction made me excited to give the dress a try. It was the first dress I tried on there, and when I looked in the mirror I could barely believe my eyes. I had never felt more beautiful. I felt like a classic Hollywood actress who belonged on the red carpet. I tried on more dresses. Though each of them impressed me, none cast the same spell as Isabella. Every girl deserves to have her moment- when the entire world stops and all eyes are on her. Nathan gives you that moment. He makes you feel like the star you truly are. Of course, none of this would be possible without Leanne Marshall's vision. I have since tried on other dresses I hoped would compare to hers, but no one else makes them the way she does. She understands what is most flattering on a woman's body, and it's the subtle but very important details she pays attention to that make a world of difference. Her dresses immediately make me feel like I have lost ten pounds! That's pretty magical if you ask me. I haven't purchased my wedding dress quite yet, but after all the dresses I have tried on I can tell you this. I will not be walking down the aisle in anything but a Leanne Marshall dress. These gowns are just breathtaking and superior to many others I tried on all over NYC.
